Everyone grows old. Some of those politicians grow old too. They might have a accident leaving them paralyzed, or loose a body part. Or loose limbs to diabetes, catch Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s. Go blind and or deaf. When the time comes they too will need social security. It’s not like ppl on SSI or SSDI. Have anything left over after bills and medicine. They can’t afford new shoes. Nor a night out at a fancy restaurant, and movie!
I really would like to a Republican live off $800 a month, and 6$ a day in food stamps.

They will try to do the "phase in" . It will apply to younger people, anyone already on it can keep it and keep voting for them. Same with welfare and medicaid. I work full timev(have all my life) I get private insurance through work plus guaranteed Medicare because I need dialysis. My grandfather worked several years past retirement age because he just was not ready to retire and did not know what he would do with his time in retirement. You are right. He did not need an incentive. When I was working at McDonalds, a couple of the managers were people who had come out of retirement simply because they wanted to be around younger people and were tired of only associating with people who were their age or older. There is nothing in the Social Security system which prevents people who prefer to keep working, from doing so. It allows people who wish to stop working to do so without starving.
Exactly. And many people look forward to retiring from physically demanding jobs that they don't have the stamina or flexibility or reflexes to do anymore or that have left them physically damaged -- from arthritis to hearing loss. to missing fingers.

Yeah. I'm German and 34 years old now. I've concerned myself with American politics for about 21 years now. And the GOP's insanity, depravity and lack of humanity still never seizes to shock me. The fact that about half the country supports them... has put some evil, inhumane thoughts into my own mind, at times.
Also, I hate when people act like the Republicans used to be perfectly sane people, acting in the interest of most Americans before Trump. They have always been bad. Like, *really* bad. She's not only giving cats a bad name, Greene is a freakin' MAGA embarrassment to decent-minded conservatives and to the nation! I'm glad President Biden didn't back down at the claws and hissing she and some others displayed the other night at the 2023 SOTU. It did shut her up momentarily. Not that the resulting backlash hurt her furlings at all, 'cause she'll go right back to her yowling.
What she does to get what she wants is disgusting. Her ambitions are to be top cat in any position she can manipulate for power and the spotlight. She managed to scratch her way to some success in her part maneuvering McCarthy into a corner. (McCarthy did submit to his own castration, though, in order to reach his goal of the Speakership, but MTG helped with the last snip.)
But spare us any more of her indefensible, loud, and ridiculous, way-out declarations about the insurrection, her trash talk and lies about individuals, achievements and plans of the Biden administration, Democrat motives, and bipartisan programs that will actually help people.
