Hello Alexandra. It's my first commentary and I'm not very comfortable with english, so sorry if I make mistakes. I'm glad to see your videos that I have discovered a little time ago. I don't know if you are aware of wet palette, but if not, you can discover it on this CZcams video : Tuto 1 - Generalités peinture figurines. I found you panting videos not that long ago so I'm happy to see a kind of refresher course as it was. Not that you haven't talked about mixing colors, brushes and priming but to have it all laid out in one video is nice. p.s I think your painting videos are the best. You have this enthusiasm that's infectious and your voice is really neutral so your easy to listen to. Thank you for sharing your hobby and skills with us in CZcams land.
Pretty cool, I personally try and steer away from mixing colors as I paint all squad size elements identical. That being said it's still a useful idea, thank you and sorry about the trailer trash responses.
I mix my paints almost every time i paint a miniature! And if i buy paint i usually buy the basic colors "red, blue, and yellow", and also a brown and black and white. if you have these colors you already have a lot of paining styles you can do... Just like girlpainting showed in this video. =D

Yellow and one of the silvers mixes to a gold colour (The shade of the gold is the same as the silver you use.), orange or brown and boltgun, or whetever it's called now, also mixes to a brass/bronz-y colour. They're not perfect, and it's obvs better to have the actual paints, but in a pinch they work. I don't like mixing paints, though, unless i have a dropper bottle. Otherwise it's very hard to get a uniform colour across the army once the paint dries. Don't mind it so much for my...
for my... tyranid army, or my mate's WHFB orc skin in his army, or skin in general, really, because the slight variations make the whole unit look better, but for things like Chaos or Space Marines, or anything with a uniform, I try to avoid mixing paints.

Ulthuan gray is an excellent color... but I am not sure the bottle I got was not sealed properly or something because it has a very odd consistency. And as a question; I guess Imperial Primer is not a smart color to mix into other colors?

Wirklich ein gutes und nützliches Tutorial! Allerdings hast du vergessen, dass sich deine Farbtabelle an der Diagonalen spiegelt und du somit alle Farben 2mal darstellst. Es reicht also, sich die Diagonale zu ziehen und nur eine Seite auszufüllen. So spart man sich unnötige arbeit und die Farbtabelle wird übersichtlicher.

Very nice video and lots of information for beginners, but you should try to cut it down. It's not so interesting watchinging you making a colour scheme, for about ten minutes, allthough the result may be quite usefull. Nonetheless a good video and your skills are out of reach for me (at the moment)

can you not get bronze and gold from mixing silver with brown/yellow/red ? I think that's what citadel used to do to get their non-silver metallics.
