Just started painting 4 months ago and you inspire me. You have made my painting come to life with your instructions. Much appreciate the time you take to honor us with your skills. Thank You!
I just registered in here (quite a feat for you) to say thank you for all the tutorials you make, keep the amazing job. I would like to see more warmachine!
For anyone needing a mix of these colors for an olive drab; mix equal parts black and yellow. It works for the U.S. Army, it'll work for you! Alexandra...thanks for the video tutorials!
100th comment!! yayy! Im painting along with you right now, absolutely love your videos, my personal favorite to listen to. You have such a lovely soft voice, i find it really relaxing to work along with you Thanks for all the great videos really appreciate them and the time and effort you put into making them
Who gets angry at you for coughing? I mean really, they don't have to watch the videos. You have helped me a great deal in my journey to become a good painter and I hope you are coughing on videos for a long time to come.
If i were to mix the imperial primer with say a red tone would it still act as a decent primer? And by red tone im talkin base colors (or in my case foundaions).
I love ur vids. You inspire me because u make these videos for other people`s enjoyment, and ask for nothing back. ur a great painter and a even greater person.I try to help by Likeing and faving ur vidsbecause I want all hobbyests to see ur talent. -One of ur best fans,Platinum_Dice
Hi Alexandra love ur vids. I learned a lot of tips by watching them. I was wondering if u would do a vid scanning over all of ur painted minis. I was just wondering how many u have painted over the years. Thanks
Hey Alexandra. I really like Your tutorial. Becouse of Your vidoes i buy that new starter set. O would like to see how You paint Helbrute or that unique Interrogator-Chaplain Seraphicus. Best regard from Poland ;) Keep up the good work!
@birdy20034ever Nuln oil is one of many shades. There's red, blu and skin shades, but Nuln oil is the black one, and since shadows mostly are dark... So you can use that for most colors.
Hey Alexandra, question, i am semi new to the game and am working on painting the dark vengeance characters based off your videos, but when your painting any of these do you water down the paint, with me since im using some cheaper hobby store paints i don't have to because they seem a lot less thick than Gw paints, but also my paint dosnt go on as even or stick as well, could this also maybe have something to do with the primer?
awesome video as always. i have a question though, is there anyway to thicken the paints, i have some of the new GW paints and i find they are just to thin and do not cover well.
caliban is a base color i just checked and i am having so many problems with it, i dont know why its so watery straight from the pot, i have shaken it properly and it just does not want to stick to my miniatures. im thankful the models im using to test on are just some old marines.
have you tried the base range of gw paints? they are quite covering, the layer range is not as its more for layering (as the name suggests). hope this helps :)
I have bought myself a box of chaos cultists today, so this tutorial is perfect to get some ideas about how to paint them. I would really love for you to do a tutorial showing your painting skills at much higher level. Do you think this would be possible? Cheers.
FINNALY!!!! Ive checked your channel like very 5 mins i was so excited your gonna paint the imperial rebels (what i call em ) . I also got a question , I really suck at wet blending can you tell me how much you dilute your paints i use gw Vallejo and army painter . My wet blending is either to diluted it runs down the model or to dry
sorry if i sound silly i havent been into gw for a while. so these new paints change the way you paint. shading is automatic using the oil? im only at 20mins so sorry if she tells us later in the vid i just need to know lol.
Great video as always. Love your work, your attitude and your technique. Just one little thing though..sometimes you hold the model outside the view of the camera just when I really want to see what you're doing. Other than that I wouldn't change a thing. You are the greatest! Thank you for all your efforts on behalf of us mere mortals. :)
The new bases aren't really much like the old Foundation paints; they're only slightly denser in pigment than the layer paints, and are more labeled as bases because they are dark shades that are good to start highlighting over than because of their formulation, from all I can tell having used them since their release. In other words, as far as bases and layers go, just choose the colors you like/need and disregard the label. (Technical paints are another matter; they aren't for general use.)
Lol "invading a color factory"! Chaos Lord: Pitiful minions, have you secured the manufactorum as I commanded you? Cultist: Yesss, my master ... but uh, it was a dye mixing plant ... I hope you don't mind if we took the opportunity to add some flare to our uniforms. I think we're looking quite fabulous, if I do say so myself; the gods shall be pleased. Chaos Lord: That is so NOT metal, and you know this warband is supposed to be serious hardcore. Now we look worse than ICP. *Facepalm*
Great video Alexandra =) The only suggestion I would make is to add a "subtitle" more or less. E.g. "How to Paint Dark Vengeance episode 3 - [insert model you are painting here]" Either way, keep up the good work.
Your coughing isnt annoying. I cough all the time because when i eat theres always this frog in my throat and it pisses ppl off when cough, so if i totally understand the coughing. Btw your vids are amazing. Ive gotten most if not all of my painting tehniques from these vids
very few are completely colour blind. its more of a shades of colours they have problems. I guess they'd just paint with the colours they can see properly.
Just so we are clear, your color palette idea is great, however it is twice as big as it needs to be.It would look like a triangle i realize that but still not worth the extra work to me :) cheers.
as much as i respect GW's choice on that its not my paint style i dont like building up about 6 layers of one color i simply dont have the time to do it.

On the box art for the cultists, does anyone know what color is used for the green/blue color on the flamer's backpack?
Your vids are great!
nice work..the wash transforms it..
Nice! I just put this exact cultist together while watching part 1, fortuitous ! =D
Wow. Nice video!
Great vid GP ; )

Sieht sehr gut aus.
What are you holding the miniture in?

nice !
your video is very inspiring i used to cheat all time and drybrush my figures to death. i cant wait to get this box
Put some chaos black paint or scorched brown in your white glue bottle and its made a darker color and helps with the shading of the base.
Does she have a tutorial on how to use brushes because i've been looking for one this whole time.
Hey Alexandra. I really like Your tutorial. Becouse of Your vidoes i buy that new starter set.

Hey just a question about the PVA white glue on the base, do you thin it down with water?
Das ist das coole an dem Hobby. Man kann mit wenigen Pinselstrichen ein umwerfendes Ergebniss erzielen :D

Just one question why does the pig in the intro make sounds like the dragons in Skyrim???
have you tried the base range of gw paints? they are quite covering, the layer range is not as its more for layering (as the name suggests). hope this helps :)
Any reason for not thinning the paint? I always thought this is one of the basics not to smother the details...?
interesting... no need to thin the new paints with water? or was that just done off-camera?
Hello, love the videos :)
can you tell me what brushes you use? i need some good quality ones :)
Thanks

Cheers.
my problem is actually with caliban green over a grey primer to be more specific, and out of the pot it seems to be about 4 layers.

Gaunts ghosts great series of books
please do one for a dark angel marine with those colours
sorry if i sound silly i havent been into gw for a while. so these new paints change the way you paint. shading is automatic using the oil? im only at 20mins so sorry if she tells us later in the vid i just need to know lol.

Do you ever drybrush? Benutzen Sie trockenbürsten nie?.

Allways use a base followed by a layer , the more layers the better quality of a paint job^^
Great video Alexandra =)
The only suggestion I would make is to add a "subtitle" more or less. E.g. "How to Paint Dark Vengeance episode 3 - [insert model you are painting here]"
Either way, keep up the good work.
How come you don't prime it?
Your coughing isnt annoying. I cough all the time because when i eat theres always this frog in my throat and it pisses ppl off when cough, so if i totally understand the coughing. Btw your vids are amazing. Ive gotten most if not all of my painting tehniques from these vids
Cool video. Big thx from russia, moscow ) U best !
you always go so heavy on the wash. hahaha. it makes me nervous every time. :)
I noticed you didn't do a ink wash before painting this...why the change?
Luv the vids BTW
What if ur couler blind
washes save my life :O
yes i have, the base range is the one i am having the problem.
what do you say at the start of your videos i dont understand what you say
I think it is "Hello Tubies!" or "Hello Tubers!" or "Hello CZcamsrs!" :)
Dark Eldar Mandrakes pls,
im going to later when im not working, i just hate really thin paint.
Yes, because it's easier to paint on the undercoat :)

oh i see now it is grey and the model is grey?
as much as i respect GW's choice on that its not my paint style i dont like building up about 6 layers of one color i simply dont have the time to do it.
She definitely thins the paints, she goes over it in another vid
Yeah why? :)
Cultist*
Why so serious, Girl ??? :)

She said that she spray-coated it beforehand.
Forgot to watch the video, the comment you make may be stupid as fuck.
