Solar Gamsung is a project she started about 9 years ago. Parts 1 to 6 were done by 2018. after all that time she continued the project with part 7. There are a total of 11 songs. All are covers. Though, one cover is a mamamoo song Star Wind Flower Sun, which she does solo and she also wrote the song for mamamoo, so that one is loosely a cover. There is one fun song she does with Onewe(muscians also part of RBW with mamamoo, purplekiss and others) providing the music. Some of these songs are real tear jerkers. The best for me is the 1st, lived like a fool but this song is second. I suggest watching the entire project.

What I always like to emphasize is that Solar Gamsung is a 'remake' series. On top of covers, it focuses more on reinterpretations with Solar's unique sensibility and vocal color with some very nice re-arrangement. Previous MVs of the songs in Solar Gamsung mostly tell their own stories based on Solar's reinterpretations, some are with fictional plots, some are just moody, and some loosely relates to her personal life. What in common is that they don't try to tell a complete story but rather focus on the sensitivity or emotion they won't to convey. Though, I agree with you that with Solar's amazing vocal, a more elaborated MV for better storytelling could make it a hit, It's kind of a dilemma for me as a fan because I like the pure heart embedded in this Solar Gamsung series which doesn't focus too much on commercial success, but I also wish more people to know Solar's vocal prowess and the super high quality of this remake series. It's more like a fan project for general music lovers who appreciate good music and vocals. According to Solar, this project started with 4 people from 2015 to about a dozen in 2017. It was a small solo project apart from her main MAMAMOO activities but it has been receiving a lot of loves from fans, so eventually there was a Solar Gamsung - Blossom concert held in 2018, which was also Solar's first solo concert, two years before her official solo debut in 2020. It was was a very successful 3-day concert in Seoul with all tickets sold out in a minute. Then, there was 2-day encore concert in Busan. If you love her vocal, do watch some fancams of the concert as she not only sang Solar Gamsung, MAMAMOO songs but also her first self-written song BIG BOOTY and some covers of favorite singer Amy Winehouse, in particular the broadway like performance of Big Booty was really amazing. BTW, there is a live clip of Love Has Gone and she sounds even better than the MV!

I thought the same Capn. I heard Richard Marx's song as well... and sang it with you. Just FYI, our harmonies were on point, we nailed it!!
Solar's voice is gorgeous but i dont particularly like the song, just my opinion ... it had some interesting changes but it didnt seem to really flow. So im kinda glad it's a cover.

I think the video setting was chosen to save money. I mean the cheapest way to film a music video usually is renting an old empty factory. Solar’s agency is small and she/mamamoo don’t like throwing money away. Pluss this is a small project of her, not a comeback. So I think this is how they keep the music video under budget
