Another significant thing about this MV is that it's the first group thing they released after they ALL finished their service, they were now completely done with it and there's no more need for a long break ever again.

The reason why he is holding and focusing on the sounds is ‘coz, if you remember clearly that in “OUR PAGE”, there is a line “We believe our voices will reach you wherever you are” to Jonghyun. As they sing this song, they believe that he is listening and Onew is focusing for his answers. The one Minho is holding is a SHINee map filled with nothing but their journey. As you see the map gets bigger as the song goes on. That denotes that even after 15 years, SHINee is gaining more new fans. As for the garbage, that is what they have dealt with until now (the negative comments, how people “pitied” them and shawols and what not), it’s like they are saying let’s free ourselves from those!! There are 2 shadows (Circle 3:45, Square 2:16 - from the MV) it is from the TSOL (The Story Of Light) album covers. If you have watched it closely, you could see the empty space for Jonghyun when the members are sitting together at the end of the video. At the end of the MV, where the members run together you could see the gap between Minho and the rest, that is for Jjong (3:48 MV)
ps: The comments on Onew’s health sounded harsh. I hope people take a little more responsibility in their choice of words!!

Oh wow, this is so interesting! It's clear they put a lot of love into this MV. (Also same feelings about people talking about Onew's health; I'm sure he wouldn't want people fixating on that rather than the actual video. Also comments about SHINee being 4 here when Jonghyun is very present/referenced in the video rubbed me the wrong way, but that's more difficult lol)

@@ChiisaiTenshii they really did. They filmed this is in Okinawa (an island in Japan). They performed this in their 15th debut anniversary fan meeting which was even before the MV was released. When SM released the schedule of HARD, The Feeling was there in the schedule. Then later they fixed it saying it is totally for the fans and it should not come under promotions. (IKR!! His presence is always felt. Those who can’t feel it say whatever they want just coz they can’t. Their recent concert which I went to. Jonghyun’s presence was there and it was felt b each and everyone inside the venue. I bet the online viewers would have felt the same. The negative comments about SHINee explains the garbage more clearly!)

All the references in "The Feeling" MV have to do with SHINee's history over the past 15 years and what they have accomplished as a group and as solo artists, etc. For example, if you pause the MV and take the time to study the map that Minho has, you will see that it's a map of SHINee's history up until now, including all their solo debuts. And the shot of the 5 apples falling on the No. 5 represents how they will always be a 5 member group. I also interpret the "and..." at the beginning as their way of including Jonghyun and Shawols in on their journey, saying SHINee wouldn't be SHINee without either of them.
As you can see, this song and MV is a special pre-release track as a gift to Shawols, produced by the members, for their 15th anniversary. They put their own money behind this project.
This MV was shot in Okinawa, Japan, in May 2023, and it was directed by the same director who directed Onew's solo "O (Circle)" MV. Therefore, when you watch that MV, you may notice it has a similar aesthetic and feel. On SHINee's official YT channel, you can find several short vlogs and a behind the scenes video that show them on location filming "The Feeling" MV.
All 4 members participated in filming the MV at the same time. However, one of the reasons why you only see 3 members at times was because Onew was busy with solo activities, i.e. filming a variety show he was a part of, and had to arrive in Japan a day later then the other members. Therefore, the director statigically filmed parts of the MV to account for the fact that the members had to come and go at different times during the shoot. (You can see this in their vlogs.) This MV was filmed first before any of SHINee's other MVs on the album, Onew didn't go on hiatus until several weeks later after filming their "Hard" MV.
How I interpret the "The Feelings'" lyrics is that the song is all about how the members want to feel our light shine on them again and they want to illuminate us with their light again. They are also making a point to let us know that we will always be together shining in each other's lives. One of my favorite lines of the song is, “I’ll be the light you seek even in dreams. Running parallel and right next to you.” Which, clearly shows the bond between SHINee and Shawols. (SHINee's name means "the ones who receive light." And, Shawols are the ones who provide that light, which SHINee absorbs and then reflects back to the world.)
In the MV, you see references to the members' solo journey, such as Onew searching for his sound, Key searching for his "taste" by taking a bite of the apples, Minho finding his way with the map as he explores where SHINee has been and where they will go in the future (As you may have noticed, the map starts out tiny, and at the end it has become huge -- every time they show the map it has grown 5 times larger -- representing how their map is constantly being expanded as they accomplish more and more in their careers and lives) and Taemin appears kind of lost as he searches for the right path.
I see the plastic bags represent their solo debuts, as well as their connection as a group. The first person we see is Taemin because he was the first one to debut solo (in 2014) and his official color is yellow, then we see and hear Key who is the next of the 4 to debut solo (in 2018) and he is represented by the pink bag because his official color is pink, then Onew (solo debut in 2018) is represented by the green bag because his official color is green and the blue bag represents Minho (solo debut in 2022). Most also agree that Jonghyun (solo debut 2015) is represented by the radio because he was SHINee's songwriter and he is well-known for hosting his own late night radio show, (FYI, his official color is red). In the end, what they were searching for, they find when they're together, which is represented by the big plastic bag floating in the sky, which is pearl aqua color, SHINee's official color. When the big bag explodes it releases all of the colors together, which we see are now more vibrant and colorful than what we saw when they were individual bags, showing how SHINee is always brighter and more brilliant together than they are on their own.
Next, we see Key smile as he bites into the apple, Minho looks away from the map, Taemin smiles as he looks into the sky and Onew smiles listening to his headphones. I interpret the meaning as Key found his taste, Onew discovered his sound, Minho found the place where he feels most comfortable as a member of SHINee and Taemin is no longer lost. Then we see them all looking up at the sky, which we think is them looking up to heaven and acknowledging Jonghyun's presence as the sun that shines down on them. We also see them happily running together, being free and living in the moment.
In the end, we see Minho complete the circle, which I see as representing the fact that his recent solo debut completed SHINee's legacy as the first SM Entertainment group to have all of its members debut solo. Finally, we see the five of them together, with Jonghyun represented by the radio, as the light shines on them. We see that when they are together they create a light, which shows that they are the brightest when they are a group.
SHINee are known for being trendsetters. They have started the trend with almost everything -- with every one of their songs to their dances to clothing trends, to live performances, to the way Kpop is promoted -- there is almost nothing that can't be attributed to something SHINee has been involved in. Therefore, their fashion choices in this MV are noteworthy. They are known for being one step ahead when it comes to fashion because they are the ones that start the trends in Korea that eventually influence fashion trends around the world. Fashion designers actually covet a chance to work with SHINee, or any of the members individually for that matter, because they know that if they can get SHINee to wear their clothes that they will become super popular. For instance, I wouldn't be surprised if this set off a trend and we see those pleated shorts being worn all over the place by both males and females. (Also, in SHINee's "Hard" teaser videos and album photos, you can see Onew and Minho wearing Tom Ford suits that are designed with long pleated skirts instead of pants. Just an example of how they are always one step ahead of the trend.)

he took a hiatus for healing (he asked if he is happy or not), he took a solo journey to several countries and neck surgery
