    Can I request documentary for Eero Saarinen. I just want to learn so much from him. Also to clarify why other called him "Futurist Architect" not "Modernist Architect"??
    I'll wait you to post his story

    a few of these photographs are NOT mies van der rohe.

    • @blessedarch
      @blessedarch  Před 4 měsíci +2

      None of these are Mies’s actual pictures. They are all AI generated. Throughout the documentary you will see AI generated visuals (they are all marked as such on the bottom left corner).

    • @MrVorpalsword
      @MrVorpalsword Před 4 měsíci +6

      Look, I don't think that you should be using AI generated images at all, they are deceitful and obviously didn't even look like the man in question. Use of fake images falls way below the standards of any reputable academic institution. Your documentaries are very interesting but you should stop faking photos, its simply not nearly good enough.@@blessedarch You don't need them.

      I also agree, i feel that all the images made with artificial intelligence removes a lot of seriousness from the video @blessedarch

    I continue to really enjoy these in-depth videos of Architects! Very insightful and useful for new architects and students of architecture to gain and understanding or history. One small feedback would be the apparently new use of AI imagery, I feel it takes away from the authenticity and historical accuracy of your otherwise fantastic work, I found myself less engaged in the visual part of this video due to the 'fake' AI photos and videos. Regardless, I aim to continue to watch this series with great enjoyment!

    The video opened up on few of the insights about the great Modernist stalwart Mies, however I would have loved to know the role he played in the expositions especially in stream of Furniture design and his most celebrated chair who’s copy’s are today imitated! Looking forward to celebrated architects across Brazil such as Oscar Niemeyer!

    • @blessedarch
      @blessedarch  Před 3 měsíci

      Hey yeah there was a detailed part about the chair as well, however due to time constraints of the edit, I decided to let it go. But maybe I will create a separate video for the barcelona pavilion itself and will include the design of the chair in that too.

    Hello, when are you making an ask me anything video. I mean, what you are doing is much more interesting to architects and archit-students than what many professors are doing for God's sake. So it would be interesting for you once to be under the lens and for us to ask you.

    Hey buddy, Can you talk about Christopher Alexander?

  • @0cer0
    @0cer0 Před 3 měsíci

    Very nice, beautifully narrated. Just some remarks:
    1. The Name ”Mies“ was a problem because there is a German colloquial adjective ”mies“. It means as much as ”lousy“, ”inferior“, or ”rotten“. With ”van der Rohe“, Mies created a context perceived as Dutch, and thus ennobled the ugly name.
    2. You give the impression that Mies followed modernism rather reluctantly when it became a trend. That is not correct. He was one of the pioneers of modernism and a member of the "November Group", which formulated important basic ideas of modernism. In 1921, he designed a high-rise building with a non-structural glass façade and can therefore be considered one of the pioneers of the free floor plan and the curtain wall.
    3. The building with the shed roof made of quarter circles you show several times is not the Bauhaus in Dessau. It is the bauhaus archive in Berlin, which was only inaugurated in 1979 and is based on a design Gropius made in the 1960ies for this very purpose.

    • @0cer0
      @0cer0 Před 3 měsíci

      The original German Pavilion was torn down 1929, directly after the World Expo. There was already strong political resistance to modernism in Germany. In addition, the materials used were extremely valuable and expensive and were sold or reused elsewhere. What we see in Barcelona today is a recreation of the original pavilion at the original place that, finished in 1986.
