These are some great additions to the Action 4! Which one is your favorite? I'd have to say the audio meter and high wind reduction most useful for me. Thanks for watching and consider Subscribing czcams.com/channels/xKtgafSIw1PiXf4lwSZChw.html
Mate I’m new to your channel and I’m absolutely stoked the algorithm recommended you! Clear, concise and completely natural 👍🤝😎
Yoooo!!!! I'm just as stoked that the algorithm found you! 👊 🤝Thanks for the kind words and for taking the time to say them! I'll do my best to earn it!
@@Donny_B just keep on being you brother 🤗👍🤝
THX For All you efforts 😊
Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. I really appreciate your support 🤓🙌
Great video. I love your vids they are so natural.I only use the mimo editing suite so the highlight feature will be good for me. Will be upgrading to the 4 from the 3 very soon . Quick question...I'm thinking about getting myself my first drone. In your opinion which one should i go for?
Thank you so much! That has to be one of the greatest compliments I've received. I usually would not recommend upgrading with the following year, but the improvements from the 3 to the 4 have been huge.
For some reason the Mimo App gets some hate and I do not know why. It's worked great every time I use it and the Academy section is a great way to learn how to tell a story. I've been considering making an entire video just on the Mimo App.
As far as drones go, it really depends on your needs but I do recommend getting one with obstacle avoidance. It's not necessary but it is a great piece of mind for your new investment. The Mini 4 is about to come out which means the price will drop on the 3. It's so easy, especially on CZcams to get caught up on specs and the latest and greatest. But, they are all great. I had the Mini 2 for a couple of years and took some great photos and videos. The lack of obstacle avoidance really made me reconsider alot of shots though. The Mini 3 pro has front, back, and bottom sensors. The 4 will be omnidirectional. I always go for and recommend the best deal.
Thanks again for the kind words and taking the time to say them. I hope I helped answer your questions.
Yeah that has really helped. I had seen a couple of posts on all round avoidance drones and like you say it would give you peace of mind, especially being a first timer. I'll always go with advice from professionals like yourself. Regarding the mimo app, your right i like it but then i haven't used any of the others you mentioned. I just like doing my own videos ie.holidays etc.and it does the job for me( the family like them anyway 🙂). It would be good to see someone like you do a video on how you get on doing a film/video with it. It might give me even more ideas when doing a project.👍
@grahamjones7070 I'm glad I could help. I could not nor would not do it without viewers like yourself!
Don which microphone are you using??
For this video it is internal audio from the Action 4. In studio I use the Rode VideoMic NTG. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
I like the way you transition from vloging to showing the subject very smooth, what's your secret and the selfie stick your using?
Thank you so much. That was actually me trying something different and it seems to be pretty well received. Normally I would write scripts and shoot lots of B roll. This time I just grabbed the camera a started talking so I really appreciate you noticing and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. The selfie stick is the Ulanzi MT-16. I like the fact that it has a cold shoe and a decent size base but does not take up much room in a bag. Thanks again for your time and support
great looking video! by the way, what is your video setting and color grading method? can we wait for such a video? ;)
Thank you so much! Actually there is no color grading. Straight from camera 4k30 on standard dewarp and I've been planning something of that nature. I would also like to highlight some features of the Mimo app as well. Thanks again for the kind words as well as taking the time to watch and comment
thanks! okyy. waiting for that@@Donny_B
Hi Donny. Thanks for this. Curiously, in what view was the whole footage? Is it on hyperview or in Dewarp?
Thanks for watching. I typically shoot everything in dewarp. It is a 17mm equivalent. I feel like anything else is a bit too wide for my liking. It is also in the normal color profile. Thanks again for your time and comment
@@Donny_B , thanks for responding. I'm inclined also to Linear or Dewarped view but watching your supposed dewarped OA4 clips somehow causes a bit of a dizzying sensation. I'm currently using a GP10 but seriously thinking of migrating to the OA4 due to it being more reliable (My GP10 freezes at times). Hoping that DJI would give us a firmware update that would match the Linear view of the GoPro GP2 sensor cameras.
Well....that dizziness could very well be my fault, haha. Freezing is the most common complaint I hear about GoPro. I've never owned one so I can't really speak on it, but I do know the OA4 has given me back the confidence to even reach for an action cam again.
@@Donny_B , actually, that's the point whether you think it's your fault or not. It's because panning the OA4 slowly or, in most cases on your video--abruptly towards any direction--shouldn't really cause any viewer to be dizzy which could mean that the OA4's dewarp option is still quite wide as the distortion at the edges results in a sort of wobbling effect.
@nathanielngosy hmmm....you think this may be a rolling shutter issue? I'll play around with it and see what I can come up with
Any idea if they fixed the rtmp wifi stuttering? Currently using oa3 but interested about this one
Honestly, I have no clue. I've never even tried to use it for live stream. I'll do some digging and report back
Why don´t you use the horizon levelling?
No reason. I just prefer Rock Steady
Thanks for your review. Do you think the A4 shoots too wide? I get it, where using for blogging is concerned, but I feel anything wider than standard wide from the GoPro is too wide for my activities, as it places the main subject too far away. Your thoughts!
Thank you for your time, comment, and support. It's really just a personal preference. It seems the wider you go the more bouncy the subject is in the frame. The edges tend to get a bit wobbly as well. Standard (dewarp) as always just been my go to. 17mm is a good spot to be in for talking head / vlogging. Thanks again for your time and support!
Thanks. So, are you saying that it is possible to not shoot so wide by using dewarp?
@mstuartkendall yep, dewarp is only in standard, which is a 17mm equivalent. Ultra Wide is 11mm
@mstuartkendall By using rock steady plus in ultra wide it will crop in a little which helps alot with any warping. But then you're getting back closer to wide rather than ultra wide
What is the max memory card it supports
Specs say 512gb, which is what I use. But The Action 3 claimed 256gb and I used the same 512gb card with no issues. So maybe a larger card would work in the 4 but I can confirm a 512gb card works
@@Donny_B thank you
nice! What firmware version are you on now?
I'm about 45 minutes away from my office but as soon as I get back I will let you know. I believe the last few digits is .104 though. But give me a few and I'll tell you for sure
Firmware version 01.02.06.10 ..... I was close 🤓
@@Donny_B thanks! I appreciate it!
@HelloJelo no worries. Thanks for your time and support!
Is the Dji action 4 also getting 10bit in normal mode and 10bit in 120fps? Like the pocket3
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Honestly, I'm not sure. The Action 3 had HDR 10 bit in Normal profile and that option is gone from the Action 4, so I assume that Normal is now 10 bit but do not know for sure. Sorry I couldn't give you a definite but I'm 99% sure that it is. Thanks again for you time and support!
@Donny_B thank u for replying 💓
Okay...I thought about that. That it records standard in 10bit standard, but doesn't mention it in the settings. Isn't that data embedded in the video files? To know if the videos normal profile is 10 or 8 bit.
I looked at the data of a file in the mimo app. It shows date, file size, resolution, fps, duration, and encoding format....nothing about colors. Maybe it will show more information in editing software. I will check when I get home to see what I can find. You would think that it is encoded somewhere, though
@Donny_B okay buddy...much appreciated. Because I want to buy 1 but I'm struggling between the pocket 3 and the action4. The action4 is much more rigid. But the pocket3 camera is amazing with it's smooth gymbal and autofocus which makes footage cinematic. But 1 con is it's super fragile and a bit more expensive.
I don't do action stuff. It's just to record memories and trips.
If I buy something online I won't be able to send it back. Shipping in my country is done via third-party companies. So u kinda get the idea if I buy it and it malfunctions within a week or month...I'm stuck with it. No refund or sending it back.
If there available in stores then I do get warranty.
So I think the action4 is a far better option with a decent camera quality....
Any thoughts about this?
@serktv6231 I think you're spot on. The pocket 3 is great but there are alot of moving parts with zero water resistance. I've used the Action 4 on a daily basis until the Pocket 3 and it is just as capable. It may not be a 1 inch sensor...but it's close. The stabilization is great and my favorite, the internal audio is extremely usable. I've always tried to avoid dealing with microphones and the Action 4 allowed me to do it. I think the Action 4 will do everything you ask of it, all while being dust, water, and cold resistant....and at a lower price. Don't let the CZcams hype convince you to buy something you don't need. You can capture great memories with the original Osmo Action or a GoPro 4 or 5. Take the time to learn what it can do and how to do it is what makes all the difference. If it were me with the same circumstances, I would go with the Action 4. Hope this helps answer some questions or at least ease some of your worry and thanks for being part of this CZcams journey I'm on!
Hey I think loop and even the pre-record are good for dashcam style footage. Where you are wanting to catch h specific events but don’t know when they will happen.
That's a great idea. It's almost a sign that you even said that. I've been searching for a good dash cam and considered using the Action 3. It would be cool if DJI had some type of app or software for that. Thanks for taking the time to watch and to comment. I really appreciate the support!
@@flightriot3454have you been drinking tonight?
Had anyone tried the OAC4 into FULAIM X5 Wireless System??
The DAC on the Action 4 is great along with impressive gain settings and the new audio meter I don't think you can really go wrong as long as the mic is good. I do not know much about the X5 but the reviews seem great. I've used the DJI MIC, Rode Wireless GO II, Rode Videomicro and the NTG with great results from all of them. There is a great channel that covers alot of technical audio stuff about the Action 4 that might serve you well called @WayneRECs Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment
@@Donny_B thank you for the response sir, have a great day!
@HeyyItsJhay thank you! You do the same.
I love how DJI includes a metal case for the Action 4 cam. I still had to buy a third-party metal case for my GP11!! Urgh!!
Plastic case though
