Hey! Really enjoy the output you got from the OA4, just brought one 3 days ago. Which settings you use?

I never used H264 only use HEVC, not big difference. But some 👍. Great test Scott.

I can see a difference in the car scene. you can see the black headliner better in 10 bit. the shadows and highlights are better in that scene.

Agreed but where it should make a difference is when you push stuff in editing. Like to see a vid of how far you can push things in an editor. My 10bit drone stuff I must say is a bit disappointing. There's 10bit and then there's 10bit it would seem!

Are there any advantages to going dlog 10bit vs Normal 10bit when it comes to post processing?

love your channel but I hate to break it to you, your comparing 10bit to 10 bit if you updated your camera there is no more 8 bit and the hvec vs h264 is just codec and file size

I'm 99% sure I am also not shooting dlog anymore myself because I see no difference.@@ScottsReviews

@@yankeecowboy Well that is a bummer, I just checked DJI Website and this was footnote #1 regarding 10 bit: 1. 10-bit color depth is available for videos recorded in HEVC codec and the D-Log M color mode. So that would have me to beleive if I am in h264 it would be 8bit. Also HEVC normal shows 10 bit and h264 does not.

yeah let me know if you can confirm it. from what data I can look at in my Final Cut it looks to be 10 bit@@ScottsReviews

Great review, the differences are barely noticeable unless you're pixel peeping tbh. Is the avg user going to notice? nope. And from your side by side, I actually preferred most of the H264 coming out of the camera lol You can still color grade 8 Bit, not like we started color grading when 10 Bit came out. The only really biggest noticeable difference with 8 vs 10 bit is dynamic range and banding which is prone to older 8 bit cameras. These new cameras are handling banding much better now, look at the Ace Pro, for an 8 Bit camera it has very little to zero banding in skies, we are seeing some pretty crazy tech now. I love the DJI A4, with the combination of the Ace Pro, nothing can beat the pair together, DJI A4 during good lighting condition and when that sun goes down, my Ace Pro wakes up and takes over ;)
