    The Pacers made themselves a contender for the next four years. I think offering the Max to Siakam so quickly suggests they really aren't worried about the tax.

      I disagree I don’t think they are contenders atm. If they get like one more key guy then maybe a dark horse contender. Don’t count their conference finals for anything if Knicks or bucks had any of the guys available it’s doubtful they’d have been there. They are a fun team to watch but not a contender

    KP was pulling rabbits out of a hat when we acquired Toppin, Smith, Nesmith and Nembhard. In order to fill the roster KP is going to have to keep doing so. Hopfully there are some good lottery picks that were a bad fit that other teams gave up on and 2nd round steals. Further from that the Pacers are going to have to count on the development of Mattherin, Walker and Sheppard in order to continue the momentum into next season.

    Kessler Edwards on a minimum.. Been nice if Pascal could have taken at least 8 mil less. 42.3 is some bs. We lose our other guy's and they don't wanna go over the tax. Then they don't want to win sh!t anyways and I'll stop watching this team. They don't know how to team build anyways obviously. If you aren't willing to go into the tax. @@daledilbeck9621I know about cap. He's a fine player. Just sucks to have to pay that much when having an owner who will let all his young talent walk. Then sign no one else and pretend to look as if they're trying to contend lol. He's also a career 48%FG, 32%3PT, and around 65 to 70%FT shooter. Doesn't average a single block. 1 to 2 Offensive Rebounds and only 4 to 5 Defensive Rebounds. 42.3mil for a small ball C who misses way more than he makes. While consistently missing more than he makes. It would be different if he had big game's in between every now and then.. One thing I give him props on was his performance against the Celtics. But other than that.. His "great" game in Milwaukee, he just shot a ton more. So that's why his number's looked better. But wasn't on high efficiency. He was completely shut down by OG, wouldn't even try to score on him. Didn't even want the ball. Hartenstein also completely shut him down. Couldn't get a single Rebound either. Never gonna stretch the floor, so not gonna want him at PF ever.. So they wanna talk about Myles Turner being gone.. Well Idk who else could play with Pascal. They lose Obi, there goes 20ppg off the bench. Don't sign a SF, then there goes even more depth and lack of defense.. and also Pascals Defense has been slipping every year.. and even if Defensive Rating isn't the best stat, he's one of the worst with that rating at around 119.4.. so it says something about the guy's he's guarding, are apparently scoring on him pretty easily.. while if someone even puts slight pressure. By following him during his spin. He just falls over and throws the ball at the rim.. Guy's could do a better job of getting him in his spots.. and he needs to take more midrange face up, or fades at the elbow.. develop chemistry. He can be much more affective and I think he will be with Mathurin back. Having that extra scoring guard..most of all one that can and will attack.. that's what we've missed the most once we lost Mathurin, Brown and Heild. Was the attacking, scoring or kickouts. Because Hali doesn't do it enough, but really can't attack much when the defense can so easily lock in on him.
      Another thing that sucks about Pascal the most as a "Star." Is that defenses just stay in man and dare him to shoot no matter where he's at. He never draws doubles to help anyone get open.. Because they know if Pascal shoots it, he's most like going to miss close to 60% of his shots then to make them.. So no matter what he does give you on Offense.. Everyone else still has to fight like hell to get their shots.

      Exactly. Pacers have the leverage I think. Tell him we want him, but we can't pay him what he can get elsewhere. Let him walk and wish him his best. I love Obi, but he's not good enough on defense for us to pay up for him (given everyone else we've paid/have to pay)

    • @tonyschimmoeller
      @tonyschimmoeller Před 9 dny +1

      I'd rather sign him to 15 mill a year. If we're looking to consolidate at some point the salary will be needed. There's also a near 0% chance he signs for less than 11 mill

      @kalu8652 Před 9 dny +2

      @@tonyschimmoeller Exactly, this is what people dont understand. Look at the Brown deal, you have to have salary to trade. If we didnt sign Brown, we likely dont trade for Siakam. Keeping Obi is 50% about keeping his skillset, and 50% about keeping a medium sized salary on the books thats tradable. Because if you let him walk, you are not replacing either his production or his salary in anyway.
