    • @blanktester
      @blanktester Před 2 lety +1

      I love eating meat but @@ej824dfw is right, the process of making meat takes way more resources than other foods. The studies bear that out but it also intuitively makes sense: meat comes from animals and animals need their own food which needs to be grown too. All the environmental costs associated with transporting and producing animal feed also needs to be accounted for. Then there's the actual impact of the individual animals and the impact from us eating the food. Meat is delicious but unfortunately wasteful on the scale it is produced.
      On the other hand, it's still not the biggest contributor to climate problems. Energy continues to be the biggest culprit there.

    This seems like a great idea for vegetarians.... but certainly not a substitute for meat for people trying to count carbs or calories. Looks wonderful though! For those of you looking for a way to have a hashbrown substitute... there is a recipe similar to this without the flour. Simply get or make shredded cabbage, heat up mini fry pan with a tablespoon and a half of olive oil, add couple of drops of sesame seed oil, half crushed garlic clove, 1 teaspoon of garlic salt and another of garlic powder, add in handful of shredded cabbage, put on medium heat and mix every so often for 4min, add 1 egg.... scramble in egg with cabbage, make top flat and flip when bottom looks done (approx 1.5-2min after egg added) then flip. Your goal is to make the bottom and top slightly crispy without burning. Cook for about 1.5min more and you should be good! You can also mix cheeses in with the egg or add ketchup on top once done cooking. Its epic!

      I have an EZ idea 4u to combine her idea + your cabbage steaks!
      In bowl, combine eggs + spices.
      *** you can also add a bit of ham or beef bouilion (dry) to egg mixture -- to give it a meaty flavor -- YUM! ***
      Whisk.
      Slice your cabbage steaks.
      Slice onion in thin rounds.
      Place onion on bottom of 9x13 Pyrex dish.
      Place cabbage steaks on top of onion rounds. Then, place more onion rounds on top of cabbage. steaks (so both sides get onion flavor!)
      Allow to sit in fridge for at least 30 mins to absorb egg + spices.
      Then bake.
      *** NOTE, IF excess egg mix, u can tilt Pyrex, take extra mixture to spoon back over steaks. Then bake.
