    Replacing the heater tees in a 100 Series Land Cruiser is one of the most common maintenance items to start with post-purchase. The brittle plastic is known to wear out and crack- spraying coolant everywhere out on the trail or highway. It's best to replace OEM tees every 2-4 years or 30,000-60,000 miles. You can also upgrade to metal heater tees for added security and reliability.

      @@cruiserpatch I don't remember the part numbers of the top but I remember that I found the part #s on ih8mud. I used the OEM 1st Gen Sequoia/Tundra heater hoses an they fit perfect.

    You should see if you can find and put together this type of kit for the 200 series! The rear heat/AC unit is right behind the rear driver’s side tire, making significantly larger tires a little more challenging. And the heater T’s fail on the 200’s too.

      Interesting. I’ll make an OEM kit for 1-1 replacements- sounds like the rear heater delete kit could be a great upgrade for big tire guys 👍🏼 Thanks for the tip!

    I have a 2008 4Runner with the 4.7 V8 pretty much same engine as this one. Do you know if this has to be done to this vehicle and are there any differences with the 4.7 in a 4Runner vs the 4.7 in the Land Cruiser?

      @cruiserpatch  Před 2 měsíci

      from a quick glance the 4runner heater system has a cable-driven valve like in the 3rd gen and 80 series. so, no these parts will not fit. the valve is plastic on your vehicle though. i had one fail on my 2000 4runner back in the day FWIW

    The kit is listed as sold out. Will it be available anytime soon?

      I have a few OEM kits in stock but the metal tees will be a while before they’re restocked

    Do I need to replace the hoses?
    Just bought my first 100 series and he bought the metal T’s but never installed them. They’re clearly leaking

      I replace the hoses everytime I swap the tees. Sometimes you can get away without replacing the hoses but in my experience the best way to ensure no leaking is to replace it all

    1998 lexus lx 470 with 340000 miles on it for 8K. Should I buy it?

      Theres a 2000 Landcruiser with 250k going for $6500 here in KC in fantastic condition all things considered.
      I think that LX is slightly overpriced. Landcruisers are fantastic cars but they still have wear and parts that need maintained after 20+ years. The one your looking at I wouldn't pay over 5½ grand for it unless its in absolutely flawless condition.
