How to align a 100 Series Land Cruiser/LX470 & why quality aftermarket UCAs are important

- I've tried OEM, SPC, TC, and Nitro UCAs for the 100 Series Land Cruiser/LX470. My ride height currently sits at 21.5" hub to fender in the front (approximately a 1.5" lift from factory). SPC have the most adjustability and best serviceability. OEM have terrible control, handling, and caster numbers. TC arms are designed for factory ride height (20" hub to fender) and therefore aren't much different than OEM besides strength. Nitro/Dobinsons/Blackhawk arms are pretty much all the same with approx. 3 degrees positive caster post 2" lift on a 100. Freedom Offroad are also similar to Nitro etc.

*Numbers with Nitro arms include a bent spindle (whoops)

As usual, excellent work. Thank you very much for your substantive advice. Please tell me what the armrest on the driver's door is called? I have to have it :D.
I’m using OneStone armrests. Use code “PATCH” at checkout for a nice discount (i believe 15%)
Maybe I am a bit dense, are you currently running the Nitro UCAs? I heard you say you might go back to SPC. What torsion bars are you using? I just want about a 1" -1.5" lift max ( I don't want to sacrifice ride or downward wheel travel, much to at all) for a better look with BFG KO 285/75/16, and a nice ride for 85% city/country rutted road use. I was in a friends LC, with a 2.5" lift, and it rode terribly, and was very twitchy on the road.
I made a video about my torsion bar setup but the TLDR on it is that I use OEM torsion bars from an LC.
Using the right springs (torsion bars) and aftermarket UCAs with positive caster offset are the two most important ways to maintain ride quality in a 100 post-lift
Ever considered trying the Dobinsons UCA?
I considered it but went with Nitro for now
So you’re telling me the $1k TC a arms I bought for my lifted rig that are advertised for lifted rigs, actually align better at stock height?🤦♂️
correct. Total Chaos has actually removed the 100 Series arms from their website
I have a stock 98 LC100. Thinking I want 17x8 wheels. Having trouble locating. Ideas? Your content is THE BEST!
