Before truly entering the Basque Country, we took a short detour to the city of Burgos. Burgos is most famous for the impressive French Gothic Cathedral of St. Mary, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Burgos is filled with impressive street art, culture, food and, of course, the historic Castle of Burgos.
After our trip to Burgos, we officially enter the Basque Country with a visit to the de facto capital city, Bilbao. Bilbao is a city like no other, with its unique atmosphere, amazing street art, and the famous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. One of the main highlights in Bilbao (and across all of the Basque Country) are the traditional delicacies, pinxtos!
After our time in Bilbao, we continue our drive across the northern coastline of the Basque Country with a visit to the town of Zumaia. Here, we take in some of the most amazing views we've seen in Spain, including a walk through the The Basque Coast UNESCO Geopark. An experience that was definitely worth it!
We finished our time in this section of our trip with a visit to the city of San Sebastian (also known as Donostia in Basque). The city is known for its two beaches, Playa de la Concha and Playa de Ondarreta, which are framed by the lovely beach front promenade. We also walked to the top of Urgull hill for panoramic views of San Sebastian. A great way to end our time here in the Basque Country!

40 years since I was in Bilbao and the Basque country. The memories of my times there have never left me. Nice video lads.
Thank you very much Glen!
40 years ago Bilbao was sooo different...
An industrial city full of rust, smoke, noise, drugs and violence.
Fortunately, it has been regenerated, although I know people who remember that Bilbao with a certain affection.
Thanks for sharing this Basque Country SPAIN experience
⭐💖👍2
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful and informative video. And 2 cute guys.
Thanks Gary! 😊
One day I will travel the europe
You should! Such a beautiful place! 😍
I stumbled upon your channel when prepping for a trip to the Basque country. Your videos are much more appealing to me than so many others that are prepared by many younger-than-me folks. You present good information, good subtitles, and you pronounce the language reasonably well. Although we're not able to do your level of hiking, I like the alternatives you present for driving and seeing sights. You speak very clearly and closed captioning can keep up with you. You don't use the word "like" before every statement. Plus, so many travel features are made about the personalities of the narrators. It is tiring and boring to watch image after image of a cute and clever gal or guy showing how much they are in love with themselves and their video. So don't go there! Keep up the good travel videos, Luke and Tyler.
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! Hope you have a fantastic trip to the Basque Country, it was one of our favourite regions of Spain 😍
Great video. Looking forward to my next week trip to Basque country even more 😄✌️

I will be spending 8 days in Bilbao at the end of April - beginning of May. I am planning to stay 1 night in San Sebastian. My question for you guys is: Should I devote extra days for San Sebastian instead?
Thank you kindly.
We were happy with our one day in San Sebastián. But you might want more time there if you plan on relaxing on the beach or doing a day trip such as a visit to Zumaia.

Thanks for the reply.
I recommend using Donostia / San Sebastián as a base camp for certain getaways.
From there you can go by car (20 Mins) or directly by train (Trains every half hour and a journey of 40 Mins) to Zumaia.
Another very picturesque town is Hondarribia / Fuenterrabia, just 10 or 15 minutes away by car (you also have a direct train and of course buses) with a colorful fishing quarter and medieval stone streets.
It's located in a bay that serves as a natural border between Spain and France and on the other side of that bay is Hendaye / Hendaye, in the French side of the Basque Country.

And just a few minutes from there, Biarritz.
Another great vlog guys. Glad to be following along and hope you enjoy ours too.
Thank you! 🙏🏻☺️
Immer das gleiche Gesichte, Bilbao liegt im Baskenland, nicht in Spanien.
