  • Project Freebie pt1 from tuning this late 1991 1.3 Golf mk2 into a 2.0 16V ABF, in this video I start at the rear and replace the fuel tank for one from a Golf mk3 GTI, along with the fuel lines and filter, all plug 'n' play.

    Another great informative video. I was wanting to do this swap, but I do have K-Jetronic and I don't plan to swap to digifant. Keep up the great work.

    Mate if I’ve already got an 8V gti with the 4 pin connector do I just use that? Or do I need to change anything

      No need, just remove the two extra wires that go to the lower pump.

    I also going to do this but on a fuel injection mk2, what to do with the wiring is that different from carburator?

      ok it will be easier for you, just remove the two wires that go to the fuel pump under the car as that will no longer be needed/used, if your wiring plug that plugs into the fuel tank is different on your mk2 then you need to get the mk3 plug.

    So this won't work on my 16v gti with K-jet?

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  Před 2 lety

      K-jet runs at around 5/6 bar, the issue is the pipes are not safe at these pressures and will pop off, if you are able to find a way of uprating the ends to something able to hold the pressure I don't see why it should work with a 044 dropped into the mk3 tank. I take it your lower pump case is leaking?

    I cant hear due to your british accent...
    So you are saying this CANNOT be done on a 16v K jetronic???

    • @RestoDesignsnando
      @RestoDesignsnando  Před rokem

      lol I guess it can be done if you can get the pipes to hold 5bar+ without blowing off due to the pressure, this is why from the main pump under the k-jet cars all the fittings are screw type.
