I always enjoy your videos. I am 5’11” and forgot how much easier it is to lift the bike off of the Jiffy stand with the bars turned to the right. Also haven’t ridden much over the winter and my legs have gotten weak. I am 66 and was ready to sell my Road Glide and buy a Heritage. Instead I am going back to the gym to build my core strength. Also i am going to lift my bike off the stand everyday. Lifting the bike three sets of ten daily for a week should do the trick. It has a lot to do with technique, but it helps to be strong. Thanks!

Ok I agree with everything you have noted. I have a 2014 Street glide Firefighter Shrine. I am a solo rider so I took the original Mr Harley seat off which was low enough for me and I could flat foot with it . But I like the solo seat look and went with a gel Saddle Man Dominator seat. This seat although very comfortable actually hiked my butt up in the air to where I was having to paddle the bike around in the car park on the balls of my feet. Solution is I bought a Scully air ride suspension ( out of Wisconsin) which has a handlebar switch and you push the button and it actually lowers my already slammed Street Glide to where I can paddle the bike around (Flat Foot )with ease then when you get moving you press the button ( my option is the handlebar up and down buttons and raise your suspension and it is a very nice plush ride. Also you mentioned the learning how to control your heavy bike videos and I think one of the best ones I've seen on the Internet is motorman he's an X motor officer and he demonstrates how you can maneuver a big bike at slow speeds and maneuverability skills.Hope this helps ?🤔👍😎🇺🇸

Great video Brother. I'm 5'9" and I still have a hard time backing my 2012 Harley-Davidson's Electra Glide Ultra Limited out of my garage and stopping at signals and touching the ground flat footed. So I have learned to wear my heavy souls and healed biker boots whenever I ride. They also give me a much better sense of stability too when my wife is on the back of my bike. I really dig your videos and style brother 👍👊

It sure has been a learning curve! For the kickstand I got them to put an extension on it. I think it was about $20. Short legs and the Harley touring kickstand placement don’t go so well together. Very good video and funny. Another tip for short riders is always observe the ground while stopping to see if there is a lower side. If the right side is lower, then let your left foot down to steady the bike and viceversa. Doing the opposite will take your bike down as it has happened to me twice and I had to do the Bruce Lee roll.

I like your videos. As for other Motorcycle videos I would like to suggest one if you don't mind. It is called
Robert Simmons "Paying it Forward" in a nutshell it is about slow motorcycle operations skills I have watched his and your videos even though I don't own a bike yet. What I learned I was able to help another rider night before last. Some of my friends own bikes but don't know how to operate their bike at slow speeds. Duck walking the bike to make a u- turn. I know ! what do I know about riding a bike and I don't own one. Well nothing ! but watching how to operate a bike at slow speeds from someone who had done it for over 18+ I would suggest watching videos as well as Ride like a Pro video.
Anyway Mac very informative videos I have subscribed to your channel. God Bless and be safe

Tip for backing up: put your front brake on, push down forward on your bars and release the brake when you pull back on the bars, then back on the front brake so you don’t roll forward, push down forward again and release when you pull back on the bars again, and repeat as necessary. You’re using your suspension and the front brake to rock your bike backwards into a roll. I’m a tippy toe rider so that’s how i back it up without getting off the bike or asking someone to push me 😂

I think it's more about your inseam rather than how short you are. I am 5.5-6 but have a short inseam of 28", tippy-toes on my Low Rider. Your tips are useful, I will try the turning my bars to the left. Another issue for us shorter riders, especially with Harley's is wide bars, I struggle to do near full lock turns because my arms are shorter. To help that I firstly try to avoid having to do tight turns and if I do I position myself closer to the tank, it helps a bit. Thanks

Gravel is what gets me and unfortunately I can’t avoid it. My driveway is 150 feet of loose gravel and reclaimed asphalt. Im 5’9” with several bikes including an electraglide. On the electraglide my feet will just slide right out from under me. The driveway is down hill to the road and the road itself is very busy so I have to stop at the bottom and wait for traffic every time.

I replaced the rear shocks with 3" under OEM, and a mustang saddle which is a little thinner in the padding. Remember, if you lower your bike you will need to change out the Jiffy Stand for a shorter model (Drag Specialties handles this product). Thanks for the Video. Love it! So i'm 5'5", and sat on a 2021 Sportster Iron 883 last week, with mid controls. I felt very cramped with my knees up to my chest. And i ain't no skinny minny, so i was not only uncomfortable but felt like a can of Pillsbury biscuits. I told them to change the mids out to forward controls. They happen to be on back order for another week or so. In your (or anyone here's) professional opinion, do you think I'll be able to reach the forward controls comfortably, or would it be a stretch at 5' 5"?

If you are coming into riding a big Harley like this.. it’s all in your head.. but take a course.. there is no shame in not having the skills.. no one is born with it .. there are lots of great training people out there.. motorcycle police trainers….. every city has them…

no offense but being that short doesn't that fairing block your view? personally I like to be able to see all of the road in front of me. That's the major reason I stay away from baggers.... I'm about five six....

Dang, you do look small on that bike 😂. I’m 5’9 and a big bike doesn’t look like that on me. At least I don’t think so 😂. That’s a beautiful looking bike though. I personally feel like your bike should scare you a little. That ways you won’t do stupid stuff on the road. Like riding faster then you should. Showing out even. Your extra careful🤷🏽‍♂️. I don’t know much, but when I get on the Challenger, it makes me a little nervous 😂. There’s always room for improvements🤷🏽‍♂️
