    Thanks for the solution... it does its purpose. I have some questions: can I use the bi-directional cross--filter in any relationship? like 1:* or *:*; Wouldn't this impact the performance of the dashboards? Or is it something that happens if the dashboard and the dataset are huge?

    • @RADACAD
      @RADACAD  Před rokem

      BI directional relationship impacts the performance even for small datasets, not recommended at all.

  • @adolfojsocorro
    @adolfojsocorro Před 4 lety

    Cool technique, with the consequence that the slicers will show only values present in the fact table.

    • @RADACAD
      @RADACAD  Před 4 lety

      Yes. That is the point of this trick. Otherwise no visual level is needed.

    • @adolfojsocorro
      @adolfojsocorro Před 4 lety

      @@RADACAD I mean, when nothing is selected anywhere the slicers show only existing values, not all values in the dimensions.

    • @RADACAD
      @RADACAD  Před 4 lety

      @@adolfojsocorro yes. Because it is filtered to show values only when there is a value in the fact table. If you take our the visual level filter, then slicer shows all available values in the dimension anyway.

    • @RADACAD
