    I think sometimes people hate on Barkley as a player because of what he says on TV. He was great, a dominant scorer and sadly that didn't get him a ring.
    Edit: 6'4-6'6 PF dominating? Legendary

      Charles Barkley was simply an unstoppable force. He was truly awesome and fun to watch. Many say that Tim Duncan is the greatest Power Forward of all-time but in my opinion, Barkley and Karl Malone are up there with Duncan. Yes, Tim Duncan is a 5-time champion and deserves much praise for his accomplishments. But I remember how Chuck would post up and dominate much taller players on a regular basis and at probably 6'5"? That's just insane! If I'm correct, Charles is the shortest player ever to lead the NBA in rebounding (14.6) for a season back in 1987. Yeah, it's a shame that he didn't win a championship, but like you guys have said, teams win championships. It just wasn't meant to be. Regardless, it doesn't take away how great a player he was.

    • @kelviskk
      @kelviskk Před 6 lety +3

      I can tell you that Rodman was a short player, and he was a better rebounding than Barkley. Barkley was more than that. He was great on atack, defense and teamplays. I like him a lot.

      Draymond was never and will never be the focal point of the offense. That’s why he can spend all/most of his energy on defense. Barkley is a decent help defender as you can see from his highlight blocks and it kinda surprised me (i watched him from early to mid 90s) that he was up there all-time in steals.

    I remember watching Barkley as a kid he was amazing especially for a PF that was only 6-4”. The way he played was none stop hustle and energy was great but what I loved the most before the 3-second rule was invented is how he would back any Pf up in the NBA no matter how big they were and either score on them or mostly they would double or even triple team him in the post and he was such a great passer he was sort of a point PF rebounding the ball dribbling it up and making plays. The defense was still good when he played for the 76ers but they never put a team around him and he had to do it all that's when he got tired of it and left for the suns.

    Sonically or maybe cuz I'm under the influence, it was well put together.

    Barkley was also money from the mid-range. His mid-range jumper doesn't get enough credit. Yes he got shots at the rim but he took a lot of jumpers too. Barkley shot 57-60 percent from the field while averaging between 23-28 ppg for seven years

    there is a moment in the 1987 all star game where hakeem bumps on barkley and get thrown literally out of the court with charles just jumping vertical(not a foul call) ..the commentators of the time commented that hakeem has bounced off a mountain of muscles 5 6 meters away..there is another instance in a game against the celtics where he gets the rebound in between two celticks that split side ways the way an axe is splitting a piece of wood on the chopping block..the commentators take notice and cant believe their eyes commenting the event because you see charles rising in the middle a while after you notice two bigger bodies jumping and getting pushed sideways from an unseen inside force one to the left and the other to the right..

      Zach horvitz thats where youre wrong buddy they play very similar. They both use their strength and agility on the open court and post to score the rock. They both have great handles and speed which make them unstopable on the fast break. and if they have room to dunk it, theyre gonna dunk it. Think about it Zion is a 6,7 280 lb power forward. Charles Barkley is a 6,5 250 power forward. They are built super similar and both have games that look similar to eachothers.

    • @Zaghzackio
      @Zaghzackio Před 6 lety +5

      MYJEEP GOSKEEERT Lol what are you talking about all chuck did was rebound and dunk. And dont be fooled they can both facilitate the ball about the same. And also Zion is about 6,7 270. Charles is 6,5 260. So Zion is already larger than Chuck. Zion dominates against anyone he plays against in high school. His aau team plays a national schedule agiants the best players at his age level in the nation and zion still puts up like 40-20 every night. he will be smaller than the average power forward but he'll still be a cervicable player.

    Young people don't appreciate Sir Charles because he has no ring and see him as the big ol dude in TNT. This guy was straight vicious during his Philly and early part of his Suns career. He attacks the basket with killing intent, he won't let anyone stop him and some defenders know stopping him at full steam will likely end up someone getting hurt.
    He was always in the top 5 players of his time during his prime in arguably one of the golden periods of NBA
    Whats amazing is he did all this at roughly 6'4" in an era dominated by big men on the shaded lane and physicality.
