It makes me wonder why so many people respect Kobe Bryant even though his field goal percentage was so low and start talking about his "efficiency", when lebron james literally had 34% 3 point percentage and 50% field goal compared to Kobe's 44% from the field and 32% 3 pointer and Lakers fans still boo him and say "Kobe's better". It makes no sense. And Lebron James is supposed to be a small forward, not a shooting guard, who are supposed to have a higher three point percentage than small forwards. It makes no sense why he is so respected

Ima huge fan of T-Mac, I saw all of these series live on TV back then. I always thought his failures were due to injuries, poor coaching (if you’re aware that T-Mac struggles in the 4th, shouldn’t you run through Yao & other key players? Most championship teams have other guys that can step up and knock down shots when needed, most plays ran through McGrady much the same way it did w/ Westbrook), and his conditioning (he wasn’t always in shape & let alone did he push to be in the best condition as possible). We can sit and talk eras being a factor, the era was more defensive driven and fouls were harder but overall T-Mac had a hard time knowing when to make the next pass, which is ironic since he was a pretty solid guard too.

A zone is the ONLY defense for the triangle offense with a dominant 2 and a dominant 5.

If we examen recent rule changes, much of Harden's dominance was based on a unique interpretation of the rules that has since been rectified. While these changes have negatively affected several players, like Trae Young, they hit Harden worse, especially since he has had hamstring issues slowing him down as well. He's now a shell of his former self, so no more accolades are on the way as the main guy. I'd rank him 5th behind Drexler in a near tie with A.I.

Hand checking made the offense take longer to score. It slowed up the guard and by the time the guard starts a play 8 to 10 seconds is already off the shot clock... That's why when you get an offensive rebound the shot clock goes to 14 seconds so there can be more possessions created. If defense is allowed to be played it burns the shot clock. And, limits the number of possessions. Thereby, making scores relatively the same no matter how many 3s you take... as you can see every year in the playoffs.

It's really simple to explain why scoring has gone way up. When the offensive players can carry the ball and travel it's almost impossible to guard. Add the rule changes in that were done to encourage scoring and defense has devolved into an unrecognizable state. Scoring in the 2010s and on is infinitely easier than it was in the 80s/90s/2000s. Young fans deny this because they simply don't know basketball history and many of them don't understand basketball on a fundamental level. I don't see Lebron having this crazy success from 2007 to 2016 like you claimed. You stop it at 2016 to eliminate 2 of his finals losses. 2007 to 2018 is more accurate imo. But even if ya stick to 2007 to 2016 he's still 3-3 in the finals when he had 2 different super teams. Winning is the priority above all but when it comes to Lebron winning is taken out of the equation and the focus becomes his stats. No other player has been judged this way. Take Jordan for example, from 87 to 90 "The scoring champion cannot win a title" was the main criticism. He racked up scoring titles, was great on the defensive end but the criticism was he couldn't win a ring. Somehow for Lebron he is allowed to rack up stats and when he fails in the finals or playoffs excuses are made for him. All the criticism for not winning gets removed and in it's place are excuses like "He needs more help." The man has the most turnovers in NBA history but the media repeatedly tells fans that he has this high basketball IQ and that he always makes the right read. None of this makes sense.

That 4-5 ppg pt diff is actually over 1000 cumulative points over the course of 4 season stretches. If the assist argument works for him, then the point differential has to greatly work against him too.
