Building Tamiya 1/24 McLaren Senna scale model car Part 2/2. Full build step by step KIT MOD ASMR

- This project is to make the Tamiya's newly released McLaren Senna kit.
It's one of those super kits by Tamiya with tons of parts and requires higher level of skills to make it.
I have done this project in two parts; part 1 is the test fitting, part 2 is the complete building.
I decided to do the test fitting first, because with this kit, all of the body panels are separate pieces so the fitment can be a problem
and it will be difficult to fix after all the body panels are painted.
Part 2 took me much longer time than I expected.
One of the high of this build was open/close front center cover.
On the real Senna, this cover houses fluid reservoir caps and battery tender plug.
This is pretty easy modification but the result was pretty cool.
Something that I tried new was Baby Powder technique for the alcantara interior.
I learned this new technique from fellow model builders from Instagram and wanted to try it for the Senna's interior.
In the past, I did alcantara finish by using airbrush with flat paints spraying at low pressure.
But this Baby Powder technique is much easier and very consistent and the result was very good.
There are some flaws with the kit, all the grills are blocked, rear brake lights don't fit, rear suspension camber is bad and it's very difficult to fit the body panels perfectly line up.
But overall, this Tamiya Senna kit is a excellent kit with tons of great details.

I really like the engineering and thought Tamiya put into this kit. It's just a shame they went with the Senna which IMO isn't particularly pretty. Personally, i would rather they made a P1 (GTR) or even a 675LT Spyder. Maybe they will and I hope they put the same amount of effort into their future McLaren subjects

Masterpiece! I noticed you used various brands of glues and even liquid masking. I know you probably used the epoxy for structural pieces that need a strong bond but when would you use Tamiya Extra thin and when Mr. Hobby Mr. Cement? Also why Vallejo liquid mask and Mr. Hobby liquid mask at the same time?
Magnificent job !
Thank you! I like using various types of glues, Tamiya extra thin is good for quickly setting the part at the right position, but it's not that strong enough so i would reinforce it with Mr. Hobby cement. I like using Mr. Hobby cement as reinforcement because i think it bonds stronger thank regular Tamiya cement.
And for the liquid masks, the thickness of each liquid masks are very different. Microscale Micro mask is quite thin and watery, good for tight, sharp areas. Mr. Hobby liquid mask is very thick so it's good for large area or parts. Vallejo is somewhere between those two👍

Awesome build. Love the extra details like the valves and hinge system. I can't see in your list what you used to replace the grills you replaced? I have been looking for similar but of various size holes so any advice appreciated.
