A tip for scav kill quests like pest control: Either go in with just a pistol and get tagged and cursed pistols, or shoot a gun upstairs repeatedly, the ai run to you
Agreed. I remove the suppressor on my 5.7 pistol, dump one mag and then go silent as the scavs run up the stairs all the way from sewer manhole to peek a boo on the door.
This definitely is the best way but we shouldn’t have to do this to get the kills…. This is how I did all of these stupid ones as well.
Had one raid literally sitting tagged and cursed there and not a fucking single scav came. Pest control is the worst quest in tarkov imo.
Never even considered this, might give it a try.
If you are not unlucky, you can get 25 scavs in one raid if you are in the right place, customs near the sleeping place , by that pond thing on lighthouse, near idea on interchange, the villages on woods. Almost seems like a glitch or something.

same but for tarkov shooter part 7 my last 2 pmc kills that I needed are 39.8m and 39.6m, had to reload the raid

Back when shooter born was over 100 meters I got a 100.0m headshot and it didn't count
Safe corridor is: "Rush to the warehouse, lay down on the ramp thats a dead end and wait 20 minutes for scavs to spawn" fun
Gotta start searching shit. You open a box or dead body and the scavs will flood the area. I got it done in 2 raids.

I brought all 4 keys for that area, and popped off some unsuppressed shots on my 4 raids and only 1 raid did scavs spawn any sooner, and frankly, they were probably just in the hall and finally wandered over. I have no proof any of what I did changed anything.

Reminder that it was over 5 years ago now that Nikita said he was personally overseeing the complete task rehaul/revamp and it was "95% done", and we've yet to see anything but the same dumb quests each wipe with the only addition being the daily/weekly quests and more annoying tasks added to the mix.

I wanted to add "No place for renegades" to your list, too, since it's blind luck if raiders spawn in the bunker, and then the race against other players to get there first.
I stg I end up fighting PMCs down there more than raiders and by the time we get around to killing raiders, you’re already out of ammo and meds from fighting the other 6 PMCs that rushed down there as well, so you only end up getting 1 or 2 raiders IF THEYRE EVEN THERE before you have to go to D2 through whoever spawned closest to that and is guaranteed to be camping it…
You really need to get the unicorn spawn where you spawn directly in the bunker and hopefully the raiders are already there or spawn before other pmc arrive after flipping the switch. Got 4 in one raid and am now hard stuck on the last lol. Reserve keeps spawning me on the other side of the map now.
Yeah you got to have a good spawn if it's about the initial 4 spawning. However often the lever for d2 energy is not pulled which also has a chance to spawn 3 additional raiders.
that task is literally a suicide mission, run bunker as fast as you can cuz otherwise some1 else will kill them and then just try to kill them as fast as you can if u get there first, cuz theres like atleast 2-3 other pmcs right around the corner trying to do the same
@RozeYe I have completed it in previous wipes, I have just not been finding rogues in the bunker more than twice this wipe. Once it was before I had the task, the other time, my duo buddy got the them first lol.
1,20$ for 24oz of drink is still expensive especially when you supply the water and the producer saves on packaging, delivery and production. I hate that this shit is still way to expensive for what it is.

hey Lev, one trick that I learned through out my wipes while doing these " killing scavs at specific location" missions is to bring unsilenced weapon ( or sidearm), grenades, or even yielding F1. If the scav is in the radius of detecting/hearing they are very likely to come check it out. Fire your shots 1 at a time and every 30 seconds issue to max the chance and lower the damage to your barrel. And for the underground mission, ya that one is a bomber but one thing that's quite effective is to throw grenades at that two sealed doors. Cause right above that area is scav/boss spawn and the even guards might come down to check you out. But if you hear intensive gun shots near you all the time, the scavs might be attracted to them and you won't have much down there so would be wise to just reset, or kill whoever jerk that shooter is.

Tarkov is the premier example outside of MMOs as to why you *never* design your game around the part of your playerbase who's only concern and feedback is "MU HARDCORE!"

Btw a trick for killing the scavs in the bunker is to shoot out a light every minute or so, that draws in the scavs from above to come down and investigate. You should be able to get the quest done in 1-2 raids. Same trick works for most other quests that require scav kills in certain locations.

I spent a whole day camping Safe Corridor with barely anyone ever showing up and ended up just bringing a spare gun and pistol to pretend I was fighting myself and hoped player scavs would come to investigate, still took an hour.
I just wanted to say im doing mid to end lightkeeper tasks and still havent done the long road quest. Its such a terrible place to hang around and hunt scavs at.
As an added bonus, any of jeagers "kill pmc's while..." Tasks, blind them? Ok so you have to get lucky with flashbangs or rush with zvenda shells. With a tremor, try to break your arm and rush factory, theyre tedious
Was surprised hunting trip wasn’t mentioned. As it definitely falls into the category of doing the same thing but worse. You just killed a boss, how about do it again but with a specific gun and distance.
Hunting trip isn't that bad to be honest
In hunting trips defense, it really isn’t so terrible as a quest. Definitely repetitive though.
@@leviticus1132 hunting trip and hunter are very fun quest. Hunting trip require some luck and some skill. Is not that difficult to complete and best for both quests It doesn't require you to be alive after you kill the boss so basically you can ignore the guard and focus on the boss alone. And unlike killing Killa which spawn at all over interchange sthurman only spawn on sawmill so is quite easy. The only down side is might take some time.
You unlock both hunter and hunting trip together so if you kill the boss in close range at least it still count for the hunter kill

Overpopulation is the only one that I have a problem with because whenever I get there they're either swarming with pmcs who killed everyone or no scavs ever spawn.

For safe corridor used the keys RB-PSP1, RB-PSP2, RB-PSV1, RB-PSV2 ( not necessarily the four). Open the doors, loot the inside of the cages and drop outside the cages what you had . The scavs above go down to collect the loot. Usually in one run, it’s over.

The underground warehouse on reserve also includes the connecting hallway that leads to the skav extract. I camped like 8 players skavs trying to extract down there. Lol
You can sorta force scavs to spawn by making noise with gunfire and grenades, then leaving the area and coming back.
Spawn locations in a radius dependant on the loudness of the noise will be triggered, but will not spawn if you are close to them or have direct line of sight (with some exceptions)

The worst feeling is doing a quest and then realizing you forgot to restart it
Safe Corridor can actually be consistent for me if I shoot unsuppressed shots in the quest area. The ai scavs in and around the K buildings can actually path down there if they hear you. One caveat though is that you cannot kill them if they are in the side hallways because that is outside the quest area annoyingly enough.

Tip for the quests for clearing underground warehouse and barracks at reserve: bring the loot keys and a loud weapon. Fire off a shot before you start looting. Scavs will often come over. If no scavs come over by the time you finish looting, whatever, you got great loot and can reset, so it's not a waste of time.
Long Road can be easily done. Just jump on the rock on the left and there is a ledge there just above the road itself. Now you have to wait till 25min in raid and you should have consistent scav spawns on the road by the bridge going to water treatment also few players scavs from time to time. Got it done in 2 raids. 6 scavs killed in 1st.
I have to agree, that early questing is really fun to play, because you do have a mission and freedom of roaming. Either be killing anywhere on the map or placing items on specific location. But as you progress further, and quests that do require tons of kills on specific location are extremely boring and dull.
Like capturing outposts. Fortress on customs is quite epicenter of the map and it for sure will bring somebody there from either searching of bosses/cultists or just passing by. Rework on shoreline from pier to resort was amazing decision as resort is epicenter of loot and quests. And then there is woods medcamp...not a single point of interest to go there. And yet, after 6 raids of sitting there for whole raid, I am still on kill count: 0.
I remember there is a quest where you have to sneak into custom and do some shit, and you can't be spotted by or kill any scavs. God I hate it because there's a chance you don't even know you are spotted and the scavs just walks away to a cover, or you are busy surviving PMC at the start of a match that you just accidentally walk into a scav. Well, good luck surviving the rest of the match just to start all over again. It is tedious!
Man I literally did safe corridor yesterday and the one raid I went down there with a pistol I ran out of ammo cause 14 scavs spawned back to back and had to use one of their shotguns to shoot my way out.
i dont have anything to back this up but i would think that black bishop doesn't count for pest control because it's most likely some sort of military office/decision maker building but barracks is just the two for housing soldiers. just a tought
I play SPT instead of online. Even with modified and better spawns, I didn't complete Pest Control or Safe Corridor until I reached level 56, which was last night. I completed Key to the Tower before the first couple Reserve quests.
Oh boy. Wait until you get deep into the Lightkeeper questline. PMC kills on that stupid rock in woods? Killing a sniper scav from like 350 meters?
The key to killing scavs for the specific location quests is to go in tagged and cursed. Scavs within 150 meters will track to your location for easy farming. Happy hunting Leviticus.
Easiest way to fix quests is to make them all available at level 1 which does numerous things
1. Incentives to increase difficulty and reduce tedium in quest design
2. No longer have to remember to hold certain items for a quest youre about to get
3. Better population diversity on all maps early wipe
4. No longer will you be mad you had a raid where you wouldve completed a quest in that single raid but when you actually get it takes like 20 raids (hopefully im not the only one)
Can't wait for the dummies to come at me with the ole but that means you can rush x unlock and be op early, most quest rewards are already locked behind trader level, bsg could easily make anything that isnt locked locked at whatever they deem fit

For me the things that get to me are ones that rely on other player's behavior. Anything that's specific about USEC/BEAR or that requires targets that have a certain level or are standing in a certain place.
Killing 20 bears on lighthouse is ridiculous. 80% of tarkov players pick usec and 95% of lighthouse players pick usec.
I think what could help pest control would be to kill scavs from the Barracks. You just have to be inside the barracks , the targets can be anywhere.
So I found a bit of a work around for easy job part 2
Anything on roofs don’t count but I can almost always, if I get a close spawn pick off the the front rouges as well as some scavs down low
It’s more of a quest that you don’t focus on and just get whenever you do

Pest control and Safe corridor where made before they nerfed scav spawns so hard. Back in the day when they came out both started with raid with 2-5 scavs prespawned ready to go.

For Long Road there's a rock ledge on the north face of the northern hill on the west side of the road. Sit there with a scoped Mosin and you can pick off Scavs easy.
What about Long Line? A late game quest to kill 30 PMC on Interchange - a map that has very few PMCs going there in the late game...

I got Kappa 2 days ago and im not joking, Easy Job Part 2 was THE LAST QUEST I needed to get Collector. The one before that was Long Road and the follow up so i think you have a point.
For any scav kill quests if found that AI scavs really love loose entities. Like if you kill a scav and drop all his gear on the ground, the AI scavs cant resist and they slowly move towards the dropped items.
know whats even worse? When you finally finish the reserve scav killing quest, go look for some food, and theres like 5 down there just chillin
One tip for Safe Corridor quest: if there are no scavs on the food storage, try, every couple of minutes, throwing a few granades or shooting with unsupressed weapons. Most of the time, it will llure scavs from the train station. Good luck.

I don’t understand why there aren’t scav spawn rooms in certain places that scavs will exit when a criteria is met, like looting the crates in warehouse or if you plant a marker at night time maybe you have some scavs pull up, maybe those guys are wearing pnv’s
Would be nice if you could bait scavs to come to the location you want them to come to. For example, firing red flare would immediately make scavs converge to the spot where it was fired. Or some other flare could get this use..

I agree with most of what you're saying except you don't need to sit in reserve basement the entire raid and wait for scavs to spawn, I just went down there, killed the scavs and reset out sewer manhole. Took like 7 raids but only half an hour.
The only reason these quests exist is to pad out the Quest time for the Wipe. If it was just "kill X enemy X amount of times" people would be finishing quests left and right...which you would want, since Collector is probably the longest and hardest quest to complete consistently, but I don't know many people who've even started it, yet alone completed it. Maybe that's just me, though.
An idea I've always had was to disable the death after timer expires. I just think it is stupid and makes no sense. Instead though what I want to happen is when the timer expires: Player spawning is disabled, so no one else can join. Karma changes are disabled during this. Then you get increasing numbers of AI scavs spawning and they hunt the players. They will even be hostile to player scavs. They will know all player positions for this and go straight for them. The numbers keep increasing until everyone leaves or dies. These scavs will be slightly altered to never spawn with a backpack to reduce farming potential.
With something like this I think it would make it a bit more fun and less BS then timer runs out, you die.
i had a nauseating feeling that actually, BSG forgot to add scav spawns on cottages because i've found & killed precisely 0 scavs in the span of 15 raids. I've actually got The Punisher Part 5 done by camping PMCs on cottages and killing some struggler scavs while getting there
Being we've only been doing side quests and stuff, i think nost are based around main quests we havent gotten yet cuz definitely a lot seem out of the blue or make no sense 🤣
most of my scav kills for safe corridor have been glu man and his guards...... still not done
for me the worst quest in tarkov are the fetch/deliver tasks which tells NOTHING about objective location so you are forced to either spend hours in offline mode trying to find it, or search it on a wiki page, ruining the only reason this quest even exist, and god forbid, if it turns out you need a specific key to access it that doesnt have a guaranteed spot that spawns it.
You need to make noise for the "kill scavs in this one area" quests. Like player scavs, AI scavs push gunshots and noise in general

I'm starting this wipe, and idk if I can just skip the quests and just unlock the flea market and play it with the things that players sell there, or is it good to invest on these quests? I mean I love the feeling to just get in a raid with the loadout I like/want and play "my game" instead of getting X weapon to do Y thing with it at Z location, feel like a shore to do it
I hope they heavily adjust these quests but also hope that the actual storyline quests aren't as bad when those eventually come out.
Uncle josivan usually brings an extra unsuppressed weapon to drag scavs to where they need to be.
the metal shack at the end of the construction zone on the main road, simply throw nades from there - scavs will just continue to come find out what's going on
if nothing comes, just run the road towards lighthouse as the scavs are over there - when you kill those, come back and kill the new scavs. repeat
6:02 not that this is ok or good design, but I found if you run and hang out all the way at the bottom of the ramp in that bunker, scavs will actually spawn in
i did like 10 kills on long road in one raid like one thing that helps is just throwing nades ai scavs can get atracted to them and yes some times there are just none on long road
IDK.. I'd add Setup to this... its now on Customs, and its position in the questchain got moved, now its a damn gatekeep to the more fun quests
the marker quests are annoying, I take all 9 into a raid and just focus on that with the worst gear i got. i am also a bear so killing me isnt gonna net a quest progress most of the time. pretty sure there are 3 of those type of quests with the ambulances and the work stations and then the bodies. Best way to get those scavs in on reserve, tried and tested it works every time but it may take a few tries as unless no one else is tryna get scavs, you get maybe 4 per raid unless people leave or you wait a really fuckin long time, is to run back and forth down there. go from on end to the next. not door to door, ramp to ramp. they spawn either where you came in from while you are down in the depths, or down in the depths by where you came in. If you get Glukhar good luck. Pest control is even easier, just kill a scav, run into a building. Then wait a min and if no scav, go back. black and white pawn are also gonna have scavs in front of them. I would say around 25 mins left, the spawns increase. I got 23 scavs and Glukhar in one raid doin that quest and doin this. that all being said, I agree these quests are ass. I just love reserve and its all i play
long road i just perched up on the rocks by the chalet and sniped scavs all raid, got 8 in one go til i had enough and left. just gotta hope there arent countersnipers lol
I still have 0 by long road. Came there yesterday on red timer - zero scavs. Just f**ing annoying quest, much more than barracks on reserve (at least player scavs come there)
The image for pest control even shows black bishop which makes it extra confusing.
I think the reason B. Bishop doesnt count is because its not a barracks building. (Not trying to sound condescending, im sorry) the pawn buildings are barracks buildings but Bishop is a tech and storrage building with the base mess hall, general basecmaintenance and computer stations within. Still dumb that most of the scav spawns are their rather than the barracks though.
I don't know if this is the fact anymore but when my friend bought plates from skier they would be already damaged which lead to us calling him skimmer instead
