I have a bsa r10 th and a reign mk2 with an umarex moderator. I absolutely love it! It's so light. I can easily carry it around, not care about wear and tear on the polymer.
Great review as usual. Actually, I’ve bought the Reign and while and I recognise some of the issues you raise, none of them are very pronounced or outweigh the positives - for me anyway. I’m always on the lookout for the smallest, lightest air rifle I can find for hunting and for me, at the moment, this is it. I have an AA TDR, a P15, and Wildcat in fac. All are good and do a job and if I had to part with one it would be the Air Arms on the grounds of it having to be assembled/disassembled etc. The Wildcat is a keeper and the most accurate air rifle I’ve ever owned but at 30ftlbs not my go to air rifle. The P15 and Reign are so light/compact they go into my rucksack even when I’m just walking the fields/woods to see what’s going. For me it’s German engineering without weighing as much as a small car - I love it!

I bought my Walther Reign (cal 1.777) for 430 pounds / 560 USD and this is great gun for the money! Build quality is adequate to weight, which is primary in my case... remember you have to include additional weight of scope and mount (ca 1kg), silencer, bipod and maybe other stuff like laser pointer or torch, hence if your gun starts from 5kg, including these will make it truly heavy to operate.
Honestly the only review i listen to these days,used to watch gyles and literally buy every rifle he tested(collection stands at over 20 daystate,bsa,hw and air arms amongst others).just watched matt manning doing a review on the reign and nowhere near as honest as yourselves.telling the truth will stop manufacturers thinking they can punt us substandard crap at ott prices.well done lads

Really love your content, appraisals and reviews. Honesty is such a desired but seldom given quality from retailers of any industry or service and I'm grateful you use it to the full even if it could be detrimental to any anticipated sales. That said, although I have one or two airgun retailers close by I think I might just take a trip up to Blackpool to make my next air rifle purchase. It's a toss-up at the moment between a HW110 or a Brocock Bantam or maybe I'll consider something totally different. Looking to spend between £500 and £750. Nice to see a honest warts and all review but is there any point slating a new product until it's been around for a while and you know the facts. Maybe better to present it as it is and let customers decide if they want it or not and be prepared(if they are poop) to exchange for something else with the backing of the manufacturer. Turned out that the Walther reign are alright, very accurate and light weight, it has a few niggles but what gun doesn't in this price range Actually you did us used gun buyers a favour as slating them lowered used prices so these guns can be bought at a great price now. But our benefit is at the expense of new buyers losing a ton.

Its defo a bullpup as the action is under the cheek unlike my semi bullpup Bantam or the 110, is it because the action doesn't stick out above the butt pad that you think its not a bullpup ?
I own all three and the Reign out performs the HW100 and 410. A simple replacement of the first stage trigger spring with a biro sprig cut to size gives it a perfect 2 stage.
Lloyd, what’s your take on soft touch rifles? Does the soft touch material degrade over time? I’ve had experience of similar coated items going kinda ‘tacky’ to the touch. Obviously I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of money on a soft touch air rifle and have that happen? Any thoughts?
I have a feeling that they will degrade and eventually start peeling but usually where the stock has been damaged .I guess each manufacturer goes to different lengths and specs different qualities. Ive seen older daystates that still look great, but the owners do look after them .

Hah,Walther trying to sell a 300£ gun for more then double...totaly not worth it,one would have to be completely daft to buy one of those while at that price range there's a lot of guns that are a LOT better...it's plain ugly,it's not tuned well;bad trigger and waisting air(gun flipping back means more air then needed is used to SPIT the pellet out)...god,that gun isnt even worth 300£ lol

Worth noting that the picatinny rail can be removed easily from the hw100bp leaving the 11mm dovetails underneath 👍

Totally disagree the Walther reign is an absolutely fantastic gun and well worth the money.

That blue “red” wolf back there looks pretty damn good.

I have recently gotten a Walther Reign BP. You`re the only bad review I`ve seen. Other reviewers are ecstatic about it. I spent about $480 American.
All reviewers are ecstatic about everything these days. Doesn't pay to be honest.

Reliability mainly . Leaks, magazines and the usual PCP issues

Nope, because long before I got to the trigger I realised we wouldn't be stocking the gun due to the hideous overpricing.
