The 35 millimeter Quartz PRX is a direct Reissue of the78/79 Tissot Seastar! I bought the blue dial
Excellent review! I'm more into vintage watches, so 35mm is spot-on. I generally eschew all-gold watches, but your videography really shows off the finish & colors, and it looks really really good.
Great review! Was thinking about the gold, but as soon as you switched to the steel green version, that looked so much better to my eye. Great pros & cons, well articulated as usual.
The green is a great one too! It was definitely hard for me to pick between the two and in the end I technically had both 😂
Tie in to the recent re-release of the 222 is clever. I see shades of the OysterQuartz as well. After watching your video I am enjoying (and appreciating) my ice blue version even more! If I had one con, the hands are a bit short and wide (as you mentioned) relative to the dial and indices. For the money, finishing is terrific and I love how the second hand hits the markers as well as many HAQ watches at five or six times the price. Well done my friend. Really, really good review.
Ah yes very much oyster Quartz which I didn’t think of at all. Always nice when a Quartz hits all the markers right on! Appreciate you watching Matthew
This would look dope with a black dial. I hope Tissot reads the comments sections of review videos because many of us want a 37-38mm PRX. That's when I'll consider buying one.
Yessssssss
Great review... I am contemplating buying a PRX and your review will really help to choose one. Cool to see the SS and "gold" next to each other. For the price it is difficult to do better than these PRX (yes microbrand maybe... But does not have the brand equity). I have a 7.1 wrist and I am not sure I can go with the 35mm (but I will try!!), a 38mm would be a sweeter spot for me. Thanks for your very informative video (as always).
That was a great in depth review ! Great job 👍
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Heyyo, was planning to get the 35mm myself, thanks for the in depth review of the watch.
Great detailed review with fantastic macro work. Many thanks. I am looking at this exact watch as a gift for my son who has very slim wrists. He loves gold watches, and retro styling. This looks like fantastic value for a genuine Swiss quartz with a high level of finishing.
Thank you! And based on the description it sounds like this would be perfect for your son. I’m sure he’d enjoy it immensely.
Great review, didn’t know you but uou got yourself a subscriber. Great in depth review!
Glad you liked it! Appreciate the subscription and thanks for watching 🙂
Happy to see you review this watch! I've frequently been thinking about picking this up, but trying to control myself and my watch purchases...although I do get paid tonight 🤔.
I'll more than likely pick this up one month, and this review has definitely helped solidify that decision!
I'm also trying to hold out and see if they release an auto version of the gold. Or a rose gold variant.
I'm also the opposite. I prefer sunburst dials to brushed because I think they look more premium than brushed due to how they catch the light.
An automatic in this case would be awesome. If they ever do that I may have to go back and rebuy one! Rose gold would be really fun
Very well articulated. I agree with all the points.
Great review, and I agree with everything you said.
I have the 40mm blue automatic and really like it more than I thought I would. I got it on sale and it was a bit of an impulse buy, but the Powermatic 80 is running -1.8 sec/day on mine, which I am super impressed with.
I’m not going to say specifics, but I’m 99% sure I walked into the business you work at about two months ago, and had a very friendly/professional interaction with you (if it was you).
It may have been me you met so glad to hear you had a good time!
And awesome. If they can somehow squeeze a powermatic in this guy and added the same AP textured dial as the 40 I would be there in a heartbeat, it really is a lovely watch and I’m glad you are enjoying yours!
When can I expect for prx to have sale again?
Really enjoyed this one brother 👍🏼
Appreciate it man 🙏🏻
I think if they offered the gold case with either a black or white dial I would be pretty interested. The champagne on gold is just a bit too much for my tastes. Otherwise a great looking watch and I’m glad they expanded the PRX to the 35mm size. Hopefully next would be a smaller (maybe 38mm) version of the PRX chronograph, preferably with a Quartz movement as the valjoux movement makes the watch too thick for a smaller watch
Blue dial for me
I just got prx quartz 40mm with white dial two days ago and i am amazed. While looking online for pictures and yt reviews, i didn't even have a slightest clue on how different it is live, in store.
This gold+champagne version was my favourite but i needed something that goes on any type of clothes, to be universal and at the same time to look beautiful.
After 5 seconds of looking at the white one, trying it on my hand, i immediately knew that's the right choice.
My advice is, go to the store, try it, think about pairing it with different types of clothes, from a grocery store shopping up to the wedding ceremony ,white version does it all. Just my opinion and impression. Hopefully this is going to help you or anyone else😄
You can mod it
Calling it budget doesnt change the implications, this watch deserves its own respect.
I love the green dial version!
I wish they offered this configuration of the prx with the powermatic 80 automatic movement.
I will get this exact model and size this year.
Everyone need a gold watch in his collection and that PRX could be the one
Really nice, I think this is about the upper limit for what I'd pay for a basic quartz watch, but the perfect size, classic design and that crisp finishing is really appealing to me. I don't really like any other Tissot watches tbh but this one is on my list
Very fair point. I think it easily straddles that good value Quartz line especially at a discount. And same here this is my favorite tissot but I have maybe two or three others I like
I wish there was a 35 mm auto version. I imagine it's another case of marketing specialists advising the brand that "smaller watches are for women and they don't care about the movement", which is just so ignorant on every level.
In any case, nice video, seems to match the level of quality of microbrands at the same price, perhaps cleaner finishing even.
The finishing under the macro shots was really quite impressive given its price point. I saw another youtuber remove the second hand on his PRX quartz, would definitely contemplate doing something like that if I picked up this watch.
It would probably look pretty cool with the seconds hand removed. I don’t mind it especially since it hits pretty dead on the markers but it could make it seem more upscale!
Talking about the second hand, how loud is it? Is the ‘tick’ noticeable as a Swatch or silent as the Rolex oysterquartz?
@@vuxentillbarn2255 The Oysterquartz tick is loud my guy
@@abrahamdelacey4288 agree to disagree.
I’ve now owned the PRX since august.
No loud ticks like a Swatch if anyone reading the comment is interested in knowing!
@Vuxen till barn It's definitely loud. I actually like how it adds to the watch being an anti Rolex. It made me smile even more when my uncle said it was fake because it ticked instead of swept.
I’ve bought 1… it’s really nice.
beautiful watches. Imagine having that green dial on that gold case...
If the 35mm ever gets released with an automatic movement it will be on my wrist. I hate gold watches but I watch too many Italian mobster movies to not have one lol
Same here! The 35 auto of handwind would be great
Your time has come
HIP HIP HOORAY@@oldsql725
Let's hope Tissot release regular variant powermatic 80 watches soon, at 35mm size ..
I hope they release the auto in this size (or just smaller than 40) and a black PVD case version would be sick as fuck
This needs to be released in 18k and automatic
czcams.com/video/NrTEnE2oi3Q/video.html
It is cool when a watch can be for everyone, with multiple sizes, dials, straps, materials, quartz and mechanical, and on price (pvd and réal gold).
The 18kt bezel variant cost almost 2k, imagine the price of an all gold prx.
@@shawn5mobile and solid gold hads no real value; it is so expensive it is better to buy gold as an investment aside in case of need.
Wouldn’t mind if it was 10k gold. It’ll be much cheaper yet more durable
*wears watch below wristbone and says it digs in*...yes...yes it does...only kidding lol, great vid!
I think the Gold Tissot prx powermatic 80 with a waffle dial looks more distinct and bolder
Just can't deside between the 35 and 40mm. I have a 18/18.5 wrist but in my opinion you wear a gold watch a bit on the smaller side then for example a diver. Wish they had a 37mm would be perfect. Proberly going for the 35mm and see how i wears
I wish there was a 38mm gold automatic prx with the 35 sunburst dial. I don t like the prx 40 gold dial as much.
I have option to 1 tissot prx 35mm quartz watch.. i am unable to decide green or gold..Could you please give your suggestion since you tried both
If they removed the seconds hand then it'd be perfect for a quartz piece and the ultimate 222 vibe.
You should try putting the watch where it’s supposed to go behind the wrist bone. It’ll be a lot more comfortable
New to the channel. Excellent content. Can you please review an Omega Globemaster?
Thank you! Unlikely I’ll get a globemaster in since I buy most of the watches I review and personally don’t like the globemaster much. Never say never though!
Moser should have Tissot do their hands apparently ! ( edit: I want that green! )
Haha maybe that’s what they need, and the green is definitely fun!
I really need an automatic version of it
Need this one black coated, black waffle dial, automatic and maybe 37mm
That would be a cool one!
An excellent review highlighting the watch’s appeal and finish very well - however, the PRX isn’t really a homage to anything else - it’s a 1-1 reissue of the original 1979 Sea Star Quartz only with better finishing, better made bracelet and up to date movement
Fair point but even then I feel like it’s not a stretch to say the original was also taking inspiration from the other integrated bracelet watches at the time
we call this the 111 by the way!!
I love your channel - it’s what teddy balldassare would be if he had a personality and wasn’t robbed of his soul by the devil
Haha thank you I appreciate it! Glad my soul seems to be in the clear so far
these look a lot like the Nixon time teller haha
why is your logo on the back of a quart Hamilton Boulton?
Don’t know never seen that watch before. Maybe just coincidence
@@theknightswatch it's Amazingly similar! Thanks for the quick reply! I just subscribed!
Wearing a watch below the wrist bone looks off!
The dial in the 40 looks white, I switching to the 35mm cause of that champagne dial
It’s a pity that the bracelet edges are too sharp and unfinished…
IT IS A. DIRECT COPY OF THE 70s SEASTAR!!!
I hate that prx text it just kills the luxury feel that makes this watch look likes its 10x its price
NOT THE VACHERON!!
i am not impressed )
Now I know. Thank you
@@theknightswatch lol, thanks for reply ) really cheap copy of 222
Looks like a girl version
I know you get this a lot, but you’re probably a genius
