Pretty amazing what a couple of hundreds bucks will buy for test equipment nowadays. Apparently it will do modulated waveforms too? That would have been interesting to see on a scope.
So true..alot of sizzle for the money. 👍
This little unit certainly has a lot of functionality and capability. Had mine a while now and is great for quick jobs with minimal setup. The only bugbear was the software connectivity, not sure if they have resolved that yet, haven't tried that aspect for a while.
PC Software functionality QA will be looked at/updated on KeepOnTesting.com website next month, fingers crossed 🤞
interesting device and Uni-T is growing brand ..and the opening track is nice ,so funky 👍😊
Awesome !👌 Thanks for watching 👀
Enter meez!!! I'd love one of these on the bench! I'd love to see a head to head with the owon at some point.
Great idea !
Interesting review and teardown, as usual. This device seems to have a lot of functionality and capability. But I have still some questions: Does it calculate the output with 50 Ohm or/and high impedance? Switchable? How is the accuracy is the calculated output (Peak-to peak, RMS)? Connection for a external timebase? How exact is the internal timebase? Maybe is a GPS-synchronized internal timebase available? (That would be a feature...!) But, my main concern is still this kind of casing. I can´t still get, which purpose it serves. If t´s made for stationary use (in an electronics lab), then make it stackable, place the connectors (at least the most important ones) and a hard powerswitch at the front. If it´s supposed to be mobile, then go the whole way and use a DMM-like housing and use batteries or make it even rechargable. As it is now, I´m not even consider it to buy. Sorry, that´s just my two cents.
Great questions, I've only had limited time with this instrument, so I don't have all the answers. I will say it seems to be very accurate with the waveforms output, frequency range, frequency resolution and output impedance. I actually like the form factor and portability. I sit this on top of my oscilloscope, and they make a great pair. It's not bulky and uses little power.
I hate the font they use but I still want one. I have a Uni-T multimeter and it's great
UNI-T makes some of the best test instruments out there!
The problem with some uni-t multimeters is that it can be killed with a simple sequence of pushing buttons and turning on.
Quite lovely - nicely built, functional and compact. I guess it would be best to just disable that screensaver until they release a fix. I personally hate it when that happens. Otherwise, there's a lot to like and not a lot to… not like. 👍
You took the words right outta my mouth! 😊
@@KeepOnTesting Looks like it can be switched off, under System Settings on p12 of the manual there's a 'Screen Lock' setting with 6 settings including 'Off', I guess its just a mis-translation, it would be better to have it off by default really 🤔
Try to make stable Lissajous plot at 5MHz using uni-t on one axis and "proper" generator on other axis.
Maybe never versions are better, bu my version exhibits huge phase noise. But otherwise it is nice generator...
Editing a lot of audio lately, and all I see everywhere is the WAVES 😵💫
That can happen ! Just take a break every now and then and remember, wear a life jacket ! 😅
