The new full dive vr headset similar to the nervegear that is called the augma is the next headset inside the sword art online anime. The AR device has some big differences compared to its Fulldive counterpart but also has some cool features that can interact directly with the brain similar to the nervegear. Meta and Microsoft are working on similar AR headsets making the augma soon possible in reality.

@Franciel Fontana 10 years to 20 years max I'd say on how fast things meta has been doing there projects so far in just a year and half super massive tech jump if I'll be realistic 2030 will be the when we get full dive and for Sao them real time was 2025 when then got full dive not really 2022 I overwatched it to many times. Not gonna lie, jumping into Aincrad or GGO would be really nice, but so would playing Ordinal Scale (or inspired games) with a device similar to the Augma. Like playing Pokemon GO, but you could feel, hear, and see the Poke Balls and Pokemon instead of flicking a finger on your phone screen.

The problem with that is your enemy can come back all because u didnât actually kill him I mean if that was the case why donât we have fighting tournament to settle wars ? Because it was not thought of and people want to kill people who are in their way to gain influence and power

I think a issue with that is plenty of people regardless would risk loosing their life to fight for what they want. They don't die in the game their army would still have the same strength. Additionally it is possible to have a scenario like with S2 of sao where one person is in the game while someone else is out killing the players in real life.
An "Augma-type" device is becoming more realistic that can be made, and will i think be more widespread and normalized once they work on on the issues you pointed out. the "Metaverse" itself is i think will be a little more difficult in the fact it i think will take more collab that competition. VR Chat and Second life are in my opinion metaverse-type worlds which seem to work well in the social structure. as resolution gets better for vr devices, the verse will get bigger.

I was so addicted to the sao anime that i was lucid dreaming that i was in sao and i was the best player people cheering my named when killing bosses and i was having fun I loved the risk of dieing irl risking my lifeâs to save others was amazing. ....I remember when sword art online came out. All I had for vr knowledge was the imagination of t.v producers and a one time picture viewing of the Nintendo virtual boy. I had a dream, that one day I would be IN the game, I didn't know how but it had to be some kind of brain headset. But I thought it would happen when I was gone. Now I'm sword fighting in an oculus rift s and steam is trying to make a headset that interacts with your thoughts. Life is crazy

@@VRelity the nervegear uses microwaves the companies you mentioned had no backup plan if the players die in the game they die in real life which is why back-up plan aka fail safe was so players could live a longer life
I'd personally make sure there was some magic to heal critical wounds, like Leafa did in War of Underworld when she had the spear pierce her head

Well, they're kickstarting the HalfDive at the end of the year, so chances are that they'll probably base it off that/ make modifications to make it exactly like the FullDive (You can't give feedback if you're dead after all)
Personaly I'm not a fan of AR for gaming, its more limited compared to full dive. But this is great so technology can progress. This tech is great! But we need to think about space colonization more than anything

AR for gaming is kinda neat I guess but part of what I like so much about the idea behind full dive tech is not needing to worry about the bodies limits. Sure fighting a creature with a sword in AR is neat, but you wonât be able to run as fast, jump as high, let alone feel the weight of a sword in your hand. This video at first made it sound like there was some huge breakthrough that could make full dive tech possible when really it was just a little update on different companies working on AR glasses.

i want a ready player one game. they are trying to rush it, in building this kinda vr to real life. full dive like SAO it's gonna take 50 years if not 100 years at least. the only thing we are close right now is the type of ready player one VR. it's gonna take 10 to 15 years at least. Good luck getting millions of people in the same server without crashing and lagging. and improve the graphics to a real life and not vr chat style.

Having an SAO style augma device would 100% help people lose weight and have fun doing it. It would definitely make larping easier and be useful for training themselves I archery or swordmanship. However, I don't want the "game" to be restricted to certain areas like in Ordinal Scale. I'd like to spend everyday role-playing as John Constantine anywhere and everywhere if I desired to. The area restriction would be immersion breaking and tedious. Especially, for people who are solo players. Various other reasons, but I can't think of them at the moment. I'd prefer the augma to be an implant or something, because everyone having to wear the stuff would be tedious and immersion-breaking for roleplaying almost as much as area restrictions.

@@VRelity honestly yes because if we are talking about full dive then my mental state as it is now can handle that kind of experience with out any issues, what I mean by potential issues is some people don't have a good mental state to be able with stand the full dive experience, could lead to not being able to distinguish reality for example, also is your physical health up for it say you was full dive in a war theme game and had a heart issue, could cause heart attack just from the excitement or stress depending on the person, but there positive to this as well you use that very technology for an escape from stress of everyday life by taking a dive in to a beach simulation or something in that nature, or you can use it to make your own private space of your own creation to do work and so on, so in the end I'm excited for this but I just hope the do proper testing and research and us the consumer under stand warning and potential issues

I don't see this happening until the micro-architecture is capable to be scaled at a pin sized form-factor, for the time-being this is just another gimmick just like Google Glass.
lets see i think its still working very well if you try out the hololens 2 its kinda mind-blowing
A true full dive technology is still a long way off though. These other technologies are just an extension of existing technology. But I have a feeling government regulatory agencies will be standing in the way of developing full dive technology because it will involve replacing the inputs from all 5 senses.
it won't be easy especially with all the rules but i think we will first see application in the medical field and army and eventually when the tech is easy to be made and morals change then we might get our hands on it. either way would you want this kind of tech if it was possible in real life?
@@VRelity this is a question one cannot consider casually. The implications, worldwide, would be staggering. Imagine if a billion people dropped out of the workforce because they chose to immerse themselves in a more pleasing world inside a simulation.
The tech to do this is one thing.. and completely disconnecting the brain from the body is a hurdle which I cannot say if science will solve, but if it does, then content will be a challenge. World building on a huge scale would need to be undertaken. Let's say you were going to transport yourself into an anime world. In anime, only the scenery the director wants you to see is rendered. But if you are suddenly IN the scene, you can look in any direction. All of those other angles would have to be rendered. And if you walk around a corner, that scenery beyond would have to be created and rendered. All of the characters would have to be programmed with autonomous reasoning ability so that they could respond like actual people when strangers (us) appear in their world.
Back to the moral implications.. which are many. There will be those who chose to use these worlds for nefarious purposes. What needs to be determined is "does anyone suffer damage in the real world?" Such places could become a hangout for the criminal element. These are issues that were hinted at but not dealt with in depth in SAO.
As for me, I think I would find it fascinating, and even life-changing, with the right kind of worlds and detailed world building and characters.
