Great video - thank you! very simple explanation. It did not work for me the first few tries, because i'm not cutting just one sound into multiples, i'm overlaying MULTIPLE sound files on top of each other, and THEN cutting them up. so the trick for me was to SELECT all audio files by clicking on them while holding SHIFT.

Thanks for video. Wondering if when importing a fully mastered multi-song seamless mix into Audacity and then doing this process to separate out into different tracks without the small gap that other software makes -would this be lossless? In other words importing an already mastered mix that was recorded in 32bit float in cubase and then dithered and exported down to 24bit for digital and 16bit for cd into audacity- then going in and highlighting the tracks back to back and exporting again- would this extra digital “bounce” be lossless or will new artifacts or quality be lost from the extra process?

This method is not precise. What if i have a 90 minute concert file and want to split it up between every song? i need to put the splits in between each song during the cheering, but just dragging the mouse over the timeline randomly won't line up the splits at exactly the last second where the last song ended, how do you mark all the places you want split, then just split them all and save/export the single file into multiple splits?

Unfortunately I haven't seen a video that shows how to separates a single live performance file into multiple single songs. With Wavepad all you do is select the most silent parts of the fading into the next song and when you've done that to all of the songs, it automatically selects the regions between markers (labels) as tracks. That's exactly what I'm looking for here in Audacity.
