The way you tell the story of these builds improves and evolves every single video. The designs have always been brilliant.
Thank you very much!:)
@@MakeitExtreme I want to draw all the pieces I need help
Dude built himself a modular shaper. I’m loving it so much! Your storytelling is so good too! Thank you for sharing these videos!
Glad you enjoy it!
*Everything about this video was great.* The lathe work, music choice, playback speed and editing, etc were all excellent. *Well done.*
I get you're busy, but still; I wish you were able to post more videos. Besides learning from them, they're also relaxing.
Thank you very much!
using the ball bearings to linearly constrain the shaft is genius
yeah, what he said!
Standard engineering practice
Great build, but how well will it hold up though? The balls are constraining the shaft to move in 1 dimension, but it's riding on 2 rather sharp edges that are the keyway shoulders. I'm sure it will suffice for intermittent use, but why not a ball nose end-mill of exact same diameter as the retaining balls for increased contact area?..... Also.... No lift on the return stroke? Regardless, great build, keep up the good work!
@@NStone79 there's so many places where this falls short, but it's not meant as a serious machine tool. If they use it at all it'll be fine for the job.
@@Argosh it wouldnt get used at all, i dare say. gotta clamp the mount down. then go get motor from shelf, clamp that down. fiddle fiddle, tinker tinker, adjust and tweak... spend half an hour setting up, when you could drop the bar straight into the toolpost and do it by hand in a minute.
then pull it all off and shove it back on the shelf to do the next operation... thats not a useful tool.
its so slow and clunky it wouldnt be helpful if doing several, either.
like everything made on this channel. its a facade. flashy editing, dramatic music... but the actual engineering is absolutely pathetic. nothing is done properly. rather than watch it fascinated... you already see that theres some failings... try and pick up on just how many aspects of each and every design he gets wrong... whole backlog of videos with these janky contraptions that serve no real purpose other than make views.
"he"... its a whole team of people... at least three. everything planned and thought out but nothings actually... "thought out". other than "how to make video".
am i being too negative?
naw. this is one of those channels that i try not to watch as it simply pisses me off. like bashing my head against a brick wall :)
A keyway cutter? Bro you have made a hydraulic broaching rig. The possibilities are endless. You can make your own internal and external splines, transmission gears, etc. between the lathe, vertical mill, press brake, and now the broacher you can make damn near anything
A magnificent piece of engineering fellas
Well done.
The talent that you have been blessed with takes many years to learn it is the same becoming a master craftsman in wood working making fine furniture or cabinets of top line quality.
The work-holding techniques in this video are pretty clever. Drill some more holes on the motor cam at different radiuses to be able to vary your stroke length.
....you should always be able to vary your stroke length....😁
Класс! Высоко профессиональная работа! Смотреть одно удовольствие. С уважением к вам простой российский пенсионер. Желаю всем здоровья мира и добра.
You are a talented engineer. Thank you for your videos. They are very useful to me
I showed this video to my wife. For some reason she wants me to make her one.
You're a star ! - At 10:37 you just showed an amazing trick to hold square bar in a 3 jaw lathe chuck by using a bit of tubing to get around the 3 jaw problem - I sadly didn't think of this before I bought and installed expensive 4 jaw self centering chucks on all my lathes just to have the privilege of being able to turn down square bar stock without having to use a 4 jaw independent chuck and mess around with clocks to get it dead center ! - Well done - Great project and video man ! 👍👍👍👍👍
Use collet or make collets
@@mastergilbert97 Yes !
23:53 Like a hotdog down a hallway. We've all been there
So, you made a shaper for the lathe..., Very cool
I can't help but think, given the time taken to knock that up and the resultant flex you could see on the cutter in one of the shots...
It probably would have been quicker to mount two motors on the x and y wheels and just bolt a cutter into the tool post.
I guess I only think so because for me it's trivial to control a couple of steppers.
To each their own.
I watched this video with no sound due to other things going on. Absolutely fantastic video! Well done and well built!
Thank you very much!
I have watched more than 1 channel with mechanical and engine themes. But this one is EXTREMELY GENIUS. I can only shake my head in awe of what this brother did. With every detail very fine and precise measurements. I really love this channel. Hopefully in the future videos I can see you driving your motorbike with your single mini jet engine. gbu brother. brilliant job..👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Well thought out project. Nice seeing it come together as presented. Nothing flimsy going on here AT ALL!
Now that I've seen the end product, you could use some kind of tapered bit to make your own gears if you wanted to. That would take things to the next level.
Every time I see one of your videos I learn something. I've never seen a fly cutter used like that. It's the first time I see someone put one on the lathe.
The filming guy + editor of the video did as much work as the actual building process😭👍
Bro your a born genius, honestly you got burned talents, keep moving forward brother and stay blessed.
Very very very very nice👍👍👍👍
Good idea sir🎉🎉🎉🎉
You are genius and good work🎉🎉🎉God bless you❤❤❤
Браво Мастер ... Bravo Master ...
Enjoyable watching the builds you do. You don't leave out any details. This key way cutter is really a work of art .
Beautiful work guys, I'm going to build one for work. I hate cutting key ways with a broach and press.
I could see that tool being very useful. Nice work. And congrats on getting a sponsor. Hadn't seen one on your channel before.
Thank you very much!
Amazing every time. The ideas, The engineering, the making, the filming, the editing, ... Every thing is just WOW! Thanks a lot.
Glad you enjoyed it!
All of the music in this video are bops
Wow this guy is a genius. Thanks for sharing 👍 you knowledge. I learned something amazing 😢. Thank again
Video takes, lighting and editing are top level. Other could take example.
🤯 WOW. This is what im here for. So nice to watch!!
I really love your channel, my friend. I get mesmerized watching your precision work. Thank you for sharing with the world.
Felix
Thank you very much Felix!
One of the best machining videos ive seen in a while
nice addition for the lathe!
This guy is wealthy to own those lathes, the mill & the cutting tools.
It looks very easy but I can tell the deep engineering involved in this design. Very fascinating and ingenious. I loved watching every secod of it. Your design, skills, and building something from drawing board to working tools, are just amazing. Thank you for sharing.
JAYSHREERAM
Awesome build man!
ilike your amazing work good job bro see you in next video
It’s been a minute since I’ve been on a channel cinematography is really stepped up nice work man
Dope is the only word that comes to mind.
CONGRATULATIONS! you just made a metal shaper that fits on your lathe lol.
Amazing
Nice build, however, something has me puzzled:
Why did you make it so that you can indicate the plunger in various angles while it can only be used effectively when the tool is aligned with the feed direction of the cross slide? Wouldn't it be easier to have it fixed and indicate the position by indexing the part itself with the spindle?
Go to 23:33 😀
@@donfoster1832 yeah, he rotated it 180 degrees, that works. However, if you look earlier in the video he put a bunch more holes for indicating in. Let's say he rotates it into the 90 degree position, how's he gonna feed now without adding a vertical axis?
This is fucking addictive to watch ! If you don't like what he's doing you still watch because the music is damn awesome .. Just an amazing work !! A+++
Holy shit how am i just now finding this channel. Some
Great machining action going on here
nicely built!
it's pitty you didn't make an adjustable stroke length on the flywheel, it's a missed opportunity.
then you can make internal/external oil grooves to.
You do have a point. Very well could have.
You have skills beyond a my imagination.
Love the build you always give my mind something to think about engineering wise, only thing i might do different is add a clapperbox but get that given yours rotates it could become a problem. Other option is adding a horizontal drill attachment which some lathes already have attachments for.
Great work and only dream of a day i can afford steel when its not for a paid job haha
Jackob is the man...! lol Brazil. Good job.
Лучше сделать несколько отверстий в маховике для регулировки длинны хода.
the best work i have ever seen
You put the "fun" back in fun.
Very good job, respect from Russia.
At the beginning I didn't knew what it was, but damn is it cool! That's very practical! Congratulations again my masters!
G’day guys, you make THE MOST AMAZING projects on CZcams without a doubt! I became a boilermaker straight from school and have learned machining reasonably well. I make a lot of things in my shed, but you guys are on another level! I am ALWAYS totally amazed. Shows that you need more than the actual metal skills to be really good at ‘metalwork’. Really really good!
I watch a lot of sites like yours, but none really compare.
Quick questions now that I’ve stopped with the hero worship, lol, Are you worried the bearings will quickly were the groove as they are much harder. Is there a reason you didn’t use pillow blocks or linear bearing cylinders? - I prefer your make it yourself so I’m not being critical, just curious.
I’m just an old disabled pensioner in Australia now, but I’m still going to see if I can support you somehow, seems fair since I get so much enjoyment from your work. The videos could be a little more frequent though, you tend to ‘disappear’ occasionally. I’ve been watching since your “Extreme Pipe Notcher” Got me hooked immediately!
Anyways, all the best mate. 🍻 Michael
Good work man. What an accuracy and finishing bro.
Профи! "Дядько Максим" нервно курит в стороне..
Шикарная работа а главное нужная 👍
From Ecuador Congratulations my dear friends really you are the best all homework.
Brilliant, dude! Really beautiful machine!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks, you too my friend!
Perfect
Seems like a big job to keep a smile on your Mrs face
women like this machine. 👍😁😀
Come quello di Delfino Brunelli ma più professionale 💪🏻 complimenti
The best Channel ever
Muito lindo, uma verdadeira obra de arte!!!! Parabéns amigo Deus abençoe vocé e toda a sua família grandemente abraço Tmj 🙌👏👏🤜🤛🇧🇷🙏
WoW, You guys never disappoint!!!! I can see that coming in handy for future Extreme Builds.....
impressive 😎
looks like a hollywood movie
nice shooting
you are so professional man
Amazing Design , I Loved The Ball Guide Mechanism !
Fantástico trabalho de nível internacional Maiden Brasil!!!
Absolutely amazing video !
Замечательный результат. Всех благ.
That tool is amazing
I made a similar about 20yrs back mounted the motor on compound slide ...used a single cylinder crank shaft of a scooter
that was an excellent job---well done
it's amazing my respect from egypt 👍
Идеальная работа 👍👍👍
Very nice videose 👍👍 .. Turning . Threading. And parthing . grooving. Operations very nice👍👍
Welp…. You’ve made a shaper. An extreme shaper lol! Well done!
Thanks 😅
Editing is on point!!!!
Very nice. The only weakness I can see is the store bought turnbuckle. Everything you made was excellent. Are you able to index your lathe chuck inorder to cut splines?
Indexing or rotary table, shaped cutter and you have an awesome gear cutter. Keep up the good work !!
A great video and DIY making. Keep up the wonderful ideas and impressive fabrication guys!
Incredible, thats good viewing
great work..Amazing guy well done
Thanks a lot!
Mind blowing work
the rotating part is a good idea , been thinking on sumting simulair but mounted verticly and using a milling machine base , the lathe is more solid though
well done man keep on doing wishes from india
NICE JOB!
That is bloody brilliant! One of your most interesting builds! 👌👌💪
Me gustaron los acabados se ve muy bien el proyecto gracias por el video 😀
Meditative engineering!
Bolt on Shaper for the lathe. Such a great idea i may have to build one for my big monarch
What a editing man, total masterpiece 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 and what a idea, total genius 🧠🤟🤟🤟
Glad you liked it!!
I usually have to scratch an internal key way, with the compound at a 20° taper. This looks like it would work at that angle. I could probably make a fixture and a slug to broach at that angle with a press...
Looks good!
nice tool
Wonderfoul bluid !
I like that machine, I will definitely replicate it for my own use.
Haha. I'm not gay but.... Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
