Men have been sold the lie that sex is a right of passage. Then we make it a competition. While this hurts us, the costs to women is much higher. Imagine being impregnated by someone, and spending 9 months carrying the baby, only to find out that he thinks of you as a "gargoylish pink hole?" The things we put women through.
I "gave mine away" for the exact reasons you stated. I loved God but the people around me all seem to glorify sex, like it was so necessary to do. I wasn't comfortable enough in my own skin to stand on the principles I'd been taught. Smh! As silly as Kev can get boy you minister when you want to. So many people should hear this message, its not just for young people it's for grown folks too who think they have to "test" the waters before getting married and because they're grown feeling like we can do whatever we want.

Nowadays I think it’s very common with couples where only one is a virgin at the time of marriage. It would be interesting to hear from the individual who saved themselves for marriage and how they adapted/accepted their partners past. Much easier for the one who doesn’t have to be compared to previous partners. It’s work.

That's why I can sleep at night since being in Vietnam years ago because I didn't leave any children behind in that worn torn country. I never got any of the diseases my peers were getting. I've always had a mind of my own and never was a follower.
I understand that if you believe that there is something wrong with this, that's your choice, but there should honestly be no shame in having sex before marriage. Virginity is a social construct, it does not objectively matter when you have sex for the first time, marriage is also a construct and a one-time thing. You and your wife knew you loved each other before then, why let the one-time thing hold such power over you? Not only that, but refusing to have sex until marriage isn't always the healthiest. Sexual repression isn't good, and by not exploring yourself physically until something as committal as a marriage, you could be selling yourself short. How would you know you want to have sex with this person when you refuse to do so? How do you each know what you like sexually? What do you gain from having your honeymoon being both of your first times? I wouldn't say you have your virginity away, you are your own man and should not be ashamed for having sex before your marriage, because there is nothing you can do to change what happened, and you ultimately did nothing wrong. If other people use their religion to shame you, then how much of God's teachings are they really following?
Because if you believe & base your life on biblical teachings, you should follow what the bible teaches. If you don’t follow Christ or believe in the bible then well… thats up to you; you’d be accountable to only yourself. But sex before marriage clouds a relationship; its meant to transcend more than just the physical, its spiritual bond meant to last a lifetime!
