Love that plow truck. Seeing the inside of that brings back great memories. In 1997 I used to drive a brand new Mack CH 600 single axle tractor with a 10 speed hauling freight for Land Air Express up here in Maine. Great truck!
9:04 - I keep a block of hard wood to place on my frame rails. Air up the suspension and it will lift the trailer enough to reset the landing gear. Just mind the grease that will get on the wooden block when you remove it...
I never had the pleasure of pulling a framed trailer mine where frameless trailers by Mac. I had to dump really careful especially when in landfill sites where a guy would try to tell me to raise my trailer when I'm not level he didn't like what I told him. Round bottom trailer. Steel trailer. Also aluminum east trailers for hauling salt, Flux, sand and graval.
Small world, we have an ex APA Mack CH612 tractor. Now a single axle dump. We also have an ex CH612 from UPS,its a small flatbed with a hydrseeder on it. But our primary winter go it's are a Mack MH ex NYC 18 yard sander. An over built Mack RD,similar to Ideal blocks RD,snow fighter. Everything else is loaders and pickups for storms. We also have an old Sterco dump.
Back in the 60’s and 70’s there was a Leahy Trucking out of Littleton MA. They hauled pre-stressed concrete products produced from San-Vel in Littleton. It was located where Middlesex Co. is now along with others in Rt 2A. I have friends who’s Dads drove for Mr Leahy. I think they still have an operation out of Ayer.
They ran B Model Mack’s back in the day. If you look up Michael Leahy you’ll find he was a strong influence in motor freight around the New England area. I really enjoy your site. My kid brother runs a ten wheeler hauling excavation and paving applications. He’s been at it for many years. Be safe out there.😎
Mike nice job dropping that house load, I used to Del using a tri axel straight job and deliver loam or they mite call it DIRT!! And the customer would get mad because I wouldn’t back down there yard and drop it in there back yard. Never no where there cesspool we’re ain’t going there 73 Bill
I did pretty much the same thing the other day in our yard mate. Was in a hurry, didn't check that all the gravel had come out of the body on my truck (truck & dog combination) after tipping as I had checked the trailer and it was fine. Drove over to the wash out bay as I was carting 20mm aggregate the next day and didn't want to contaminate it. Threw the trailer up in the air and hosed out, no probs. Threw the truck in the air and about 2 ton of gravel slid out onto the grating and blocked the drain. Had to shovel it out by hand and then scoop the rest up with the loader after pulling the trailer over the pile I'd left. Very embarrassing as about half a dozen of my co-workers saw me do it. Ya can't win 'em all bud and at least no one got hurt.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings.🇺🇸 I’ve enjoyed everything so far! Do you keep a pair of mud boots around for those wet days? Sure gets your cab muddy if you don’t watch it. I’ve seen those guys just bumping the trailers around like that. Your frame ends & last crossmember usually get the bang up in those situations.😔 Is that 1987 trailer still in good shape?! WOW! Goes to show you that those old trailers can still perform if you take good care of them.🤩 Was the spreader truck a tractor previously? It sure looked like it. It was always a single axle then. Take care & be safe my friend! 🥰😎✌️
No special mud boots, I just wear them until they start leaking. Yes this trailer is in excellent shape. The spreader use to be an APA Transport city tractor. Good day! 👋😊
Seen a 4 wheeler pull out right in front of a nice shiny Pete today he was coming through on a green light 55mph highway right through town and the 4 wheeler pulled right out as the truck entered the intersection. Let's just say them brakes where a hummin he had maybe about 2ft of leeway from that little Honda pilot all I could do was sit there and clench up, sadly my dash cam was off

I can't recognize anything in passing,,been in Florida for over 50 years but originaly from West Bridgewater and Brockton, would cool to hear some old familiar names,, Great Videos, especially when you get to see and talk with your buddies ,Thank you!

Good video mike i got to be honest im not a genius or anything but the first thing i thought of with the trailer before you said it was lower the landing gear more also fun fact leahy also has i think 2 beautiful peterbilts now not that his makes are any slouches because im pretty sure in that mack fleet he also has a superdog my favorite

My last run I had the same problem. The trailer took quite a bit of cranking to be able to get under.

Yes, he has a Peterbilt Tractor and a Peterbilt 6 wheeler dump. Superliner is still in the fleet but garaged.
