Cummins power with a 9 speed in the Missouri Ozarks. Single stack with a skinny bumper. He bought the truck when he was 18. Needless to say he has made his old man proud. Sweet! My dad drove a Pete 359 similar to that for LongMile Rubber Company back in the 80s. Earliest truck I remember him having! 36 in sleeper, single stack, and square lights. I've still got a picture of it hanging up on my wall to this day.

The General wasn't a bad looking truck. The one Jerry Reed drove in Smokey & The Bandit 2 was gorgeous, but now it seems to be forgotten. @theBostonTrucker

@@TheBostonTrucker through vocational school they for a couple years partnered up with Smith ....Smith transport in roaring springs PA main terminal donated the truck and trailer ....but it was one hell of a nice truck to practice with and instructor was an old timer retired but still had to be around trucks he was in his 70s this was all around 1995

I love the 7,9,13,18 speeds & I was so shocked when I drove a cabover Pete with an automatic! We drove it to Colorado & back to WV. What a wonderful trip! 🥰 I think it had 3:55 rears & would pull a box really well. I do remember the General you drove with him. You seemed to have such fun driving it. Did he ever sell it? Hey, I did notice that you didn’t want to drive the General because it was starting to rain…That shows RESPECT! Mike- you need to take a trip one day, down I 395 Oxford/Webster and head over the CT to Woodstock, Woodstock Vol Fire Dept has a 70’s Diamond Reo Tanker that’s a beauty of a truck and sound mean like a truck should…..You need to drive it!

GTA going in to someone yard and trying out every different truck their is. Nice rides indeed. Old school and classic ride. Buzzer warning sound you don't hear to often unless you go to the driving school to drive their school bus most might have the Wig-wag from the top of windshield or the warning buzzer. Nice day to take trucks out for a joy ride but with some great respect to them keep them in one piece. Awesome day for a field trip XD.
Nice truck. Nothing wrong with a standard hood. He forgot to pin the hood down. Both sides are clearly hanging down. Someone else did the pretrip. Haha
@@TheBostonTrucker same! No way to get a big fleet to let me do it to their X15 though. I liked that old school traffic check, gotta open the door to see anything in those old Petes. I've heard back in the days some drivers used to open the door and put a foot on the step when they backed in.
I wish I had a chance to drive twin stick the only truck I got a chance was a mack R with twin it was a water truck on job site in brandywine on 322 just up from com berry bridge ....no shift pattern it took me 15 min just to find reverse
See how at 5 minutes in he opens the driver's door so we can swing the mirror out to look behind him instead of stretching his neck around like he have to do in the new trucks
