Steps To Strip, Sand, Seal Pavers

- On this episode We are stripping, sanding, and sealing some pool pavers. I received this lead through youtube from a customer that was researching how to do the project. We stripped the pavers with Deco Stripacast, used silica sand and sealed them with Sealthane Sealer. The process went very smooth and the customer loved the results. You a brave man working around that koi pond. I didn't get a strip, sand and seal job once because I told her I wouldn't clean the walkway with sh along the koi pond. Just strip, wash with water, sand and seal. 🤷♂️
I didn't use SH either. I wouldn't dare!!! I'd pass up on a job if the pond would be affected. Definitely not worth it lol 😆

Consider getting a floor squeegee to help push that excess water. Saves times... great video as always.
We did use a broom. I just didn't edit that part in. It was way easier with the broom

It doesn't work as good. It will leave a lot of sealer left behind which will have to be turbo nozzled anyway

Cliff do you ever have an issue with the stripper getting on the house walls and cage causing damage?
Nope. Never.
Can 1 month old, non failed, sealer be stripped as easily as failed sealer. Our pavers were sealed but we tinted the sealer and the color is terrible. Need to restart.

And what part 2 sealer are you using?
Silica sand. I get it from a local store. Not home depot or Lowe's. Odds are there's somewhere near you that carries that sand. (Some places call it pool filter sand)

It was failed sealer. The stripper took it off
I assume the old sealer was failed sealer but do you know what brand and was it solvent or water based?
Yes it was old failed sealer from about 2 years ago. No I don't know what brand or if it was solvent/acrylic/water based
Cliff, did you change your seal product for this job? Did not recognize the white jug
Yea I did. I used a 2 part sealer called sealthane.
No silacast? Any problems with that?
@stevej4326 no problem with silicast at all. Just trying something new. I still use silicast though
No backpack sprayer today? Any reason? Also, no silacast?
I haven't used a backpack sprayer in well over a year lol. I've been using the 12v bucket sprayer for a long time cause it's more convenient. I still use silicast as well, definitely a good product
Just one question why did you not use the surface cleaner
It doesn't strip as well.

Getting ready to do strips and and seal just wondering what the stripper was and if you stick with that or if you have found better or worse strippers that’s the part I’m struggling with .. there’s a lot of them great video and you do very good work love it
The one I showed on the video has worked great since day one. It has never failed me. I've used it on brick pavers and travertine pavers. It really goes to work within 20-30 mins.

Them Koi fish are expensive. Pavers came out great.

With good sun i say 1 day.
to sand and seal per square foot bear minimum $1.50?
Depending on your market. I know a couple of peers in NY that gets $2.50-3.50 a sq ft.
