Fun Fact: Cell was originally supposed to sing âWeâll Meet Againâ by Vera Lynn, but KaiserNeko (the voice of Trunks and editor of DBZ Abridged) felt that the song just didnât fit. Takahata101 (the voice of Cell) was the one who suggested âMy Wayâ.

I think Goku's and Gohan's development in the series is far more drastic, at least in dbza. In the original, I agree. But yeah, here I don't think anybody's topping Gohan or Goku in terms of pure development.

Gohan's development is literally. Being a scared kid that sometimes has emotional meltdowns where he explodes with power for a few seconds. His development goes from being more a scared kid with a once in a blue moon rage moment. To being more of an explosive anger kid with moments of being a scared kid.
Goku ... Is goku... He never changes. He is always goku and will always be goku. He is a flat character and he is written that way. This is coming from the writer's mouth not mine.
Vegeta went from villain. To being a villain who kills other villains. To being an anti hero. To being a neutral hostile. To having a mid life crisis conflicted by the fact that he is now a "good parent" driving his kids to the mall and picking them up from school... When he used to be a god among men... Roaming the universe taking what he wanted and killing anyone who got in his way... Switched back to his old evil ways because he is too pigheaded to understand that... sometimes you can be second fiddle... Sometimes you fall from the top... Sometimes you can become soft and fight for other people instead of fighting only for your self.

I love how when 18 goes to Krillin he says "I'm a grower not a shower" and then right after the sound of pants dropping you hear a loud thud. Guess the reason Krillin is so short is because all his growth went somewhere else.
"When you get to hell tell them to make some room" that is a legitimately intimidating line from a villain.
TFS respected these episodes sooooo well.
Love them for that. It was serious and comedic all in one
You know, I feel like all three parts of this episode perfectly encapsulate why DBZ Abridged is officially my favorite abridged series. It doesn't make me laugh the hardest. I'd even say it's one of the more serious ones out there. But what really sets it apart from others is that, IMO, this is the only abridged series that, despite its humor, managed to tell a story that's better and more engaging than that of the show it's mocking. It contains so many things I and many other fans would have loved to see in the original. The characters, especially Goku, feel more well developed and while there's a lot more humor, I'd even argue the dramatic moments work better.
I honestly think Vegeta and Trunks flipping each other off as Trunks is leaving is more endearing than the original version.
I honestly have to 100% agree.

13:25 As I said last fall, the Perfect death indeed. Cell is the only major Z villain to stick to his guns and the only one created/determined/born to kill Goku that actually succeeded (technically Piccolo did as well).
Also major props to Curtis Arnott (Takahatta101), in the space of a few months in 2018, he gave stunning send offs as Cell, Alucard and Dartz.

This episode showed that you can be hilarious while heartwarming, serious, heartbraking etc.
When gohan was yelled at vegeta his name in the English (Canada) subtitles was âwould be great at Cinemasinsâ
The crazy thing is Goku's goodbye telling everyone he was gonna stay in heaven felt like a goodbye from teamfourstar to the fans for ending dbza
So happy to have them coming back in Season 4.

It is over that what the Goku speech was about "it's not good bye forever but it is good bye" just saying don't expect season 4 any time soon
God I loved captioning this episode. Such a fantastic episode to lose a great villain personality to, especially from what's essentially a parody, shortened version of a good franchise. And god dammit Curtis! Both Curtises! You and Taka, reminding me of a song that's been on repeat in my head ever since the episode came out!

Krillin was always my favourite character in the original. And off the top of my head, probably here too. So to see him come through after all the crap he endured, even though for story purposes I kinda knew it was coming, is immensely satisfying.
Cell came into this series singing, and he went out singing. Perfect.
I'm sorry I just have to acknowledge the fact that during the speech between goku and gohan, that's basically masakoX talking to himself and as a person who has played twins in a murder mystery, it's very hard to play two characters at the same time but he does it seamlessly. Very, very impressive.
The flipping off bit was the best bit of animation in Abridged or YTPâs Iâve ever seen

This just made me think even if cell won and lived forever to destroy galaxy's like he was thinking of doing. Beerus and the angels even zeno would have stopped him anyways. Also I loved the singing.

Kaiser did amazing with writing Goku's character development, pretty much made every Goku Abridged hater eat his own foot, Gohan grew closer to Goku and more distanced to Piccolo.

The fact Vegeta had that reaction to watching his son die in spite of the fact they have dragon balls makes him the least maladjusted character in the entire series

That's what is so genuinely impressive about TFS they manage to (not always but often) improve on the material they are adapting! They infuse it with more emotion, more character development and more heart. As well as being funny as fuck!

They are doing this (improving the source material) since they got serious about this and saw how fans love their work, Goku had more development in this series than he ever did in the original.
I watched the Spazboys reaction to dbza from start to finish and I can honestly say that this journey was amazing

one thing i love with what DBZA did is didn't underplay gohan there was no goku helping gohan with the final blast it was all gohan with some motivation, and the torch was passed to him, like the actual show should have done and kept to that, that was the worst thing aobut the boo saga was it slapped gohan in the face and said sit down goku is back, DBZA did everything right
Cell still doesnt sing as well as you do though.
You know, when you really think about it. Chi Chi really went through A LOT of shit with her husband. I mean she had him die on her not once but TWICE. As much as I don't like her, you gotta feel a bit of sympathy for that part.
And she has to deal with the fact that her son can die anytime aswell
Yeah, she has a shit life. Her kids as well as her husband go out to fight world ending and or universe ending threats on a daily basis and even loses her kids from time to time. aka in Buu Saga when she thought Gohan died.
And she was dealing with the threat of her family dying long before Gohan came around. With that in mind, is it any wonder that she wants him to live a normal life?
akira toriama has stated that goku doesnt love her as a wife, he views her as his friend, like Krillen. Goku has never actually kissed chi chi on the lips (yet had sex) in a episode Vageta actually scoulds Goku when he finds out after Vegeta kisses Bulma and he is like "what was that thing you did?" Akira said that Sayens only bred because it was their natural need to reproduce and fight. Goko never evolved out of it but Vageta, through his actual love for Bulma, became more human and experienced real love and friendships. In short, Vageta is truely the better character. Heck, he even took Trunks to the park!

I just noticed that when Cell starts singing 'My Way' and they show his silhouette with all the people he's killed inside it's a call back to when Android 17 said all the black people were dead.
He never said all black people were dead. He said 18's parents were dead. People just misinterpreted the line. (Kaiser mentions the fact in the 10-year anniversary stream). So it can't be a call back to something that didn't exist.
