I was never really a huge fan of any of these individually. On motd it's so much more sanitised. It's amazing how Gary Lineker is so natural at podcasting it shows what a good presenter is. Most people that go from mainstream to podcasting struggle for a bit. The interaction between all of them is really uplifting and it shows their true personality. I am definitely more likely to watch Match of the Day now because they seem so happy all the time which is totally refreshing when life can be so the opposite. And it doesn't seem contrived, it seems like this is how they all are.
I wish they were in the same room but this still goes hard 🔥

Great episode lads. Keep in mind Wolves lost Neves, Nunes and Jimenez in the transfer window also. O'Neil been doing a good job. Did great for Bournemouth last season aswell.

Even with Everton's points deduction, I don't think there IS a Relegation Battle this season. Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley are 3 of the worst teams ever to play in the Premier League (for different reasons) and I don't think any of them have anywhere near what it takes to improve enough to stay up
Yes and I’m sure Sheff Utd were just as bad last time they graced the premier league..They have no intentions of challenging for honours in that league so it’s a total waste of a place if you ask me 😂

I'm not so sure. Surely one or two of them spends big in January and Everton likely won't have the financial wiggle room to buy. It wasn't a fight, but the -10 does drag Everton into it

Great show. You guys are doing great with the pod. Enjoying Villa at the moment. The last time i saw Villa doing great was under Big Ron. 90's was the last time we won a domestic cup. And couldnt tell you the last time we had a + gd before xmas. Emery is great and think we will win europa conference trophy against Brighton and auto qualify for europa next year.

I love this podcast. A fantastic mix of personalities and I’d like to have Mica’s laugh on a loop. I know the focus of the cast is the Premiere League but I’d love to have your thoughts on the teams in the Championship, especially those clubs relegated last season. Thanks, keep it up.
The Everton story is being misled in the press; the suggestion is they were mugged because they worked with the authorities; only one commentator has shown the truth of this, which is the authorities gave them repeated examples of where they were going wrong and choices to fix it. They ignored that and ended up where they did by choice, not foul moves by the authorities.
You lot will be surprised about the right way of pronouncing Awoniyi and Solanke and Tomori! As a Yoruba Nigerian I am cracking up!

Talking of it getting boring seeing the same teams winning the league and in Europe do you think they should bring back what it was like in the 90s with 3 foreginer rule and only allowing the league winners into champions league? Or even perhaps 5-6 foreigner rule and maybe allowing top 2 clubs from the bigger leagues to qualify for ucl ?
Just to correct Gary on 5th place almost certainly being good enough....it really isn't this year because Newcastle and Man United are doing so poorly England are way down the coefficient table. I think in 5th or 6th. So Man City and Arsenal will have to basically reach the final at this point to get us into the top 2.

In the last 37 league games here’s the top 6:
1. Man City 85 points
2. Arsenal 77 points
3. Liverpool 75 points
4. Aston Villa 74 points
5. Man United 73 points
6. Newcastle 67 points
So many have Arsenal down as the only team capable of challenging Man City. The reality is they had a great 7-8 months in a season split into two. Still got to prove themselves as being long term contenders for me. And the gap to the others isn’t as big as made out.
Can I ask why you covered the last 37 games and not the last 38???
@@daviebananas1735 the app I used (Flashscores) runs a form guide for each season in increments of 5 games. So last year there was the most recent 25 games data, this season there have been 12 games. Essentially I was too lazy to go and find each teams 38th oldest result!

They've said about everybody's else's injuries but Man utd have had loads, but no mention
United had equal most injuries this season alongside Newcastle
United also is 18th is most ref calls against them (including some howler calls).
Yet Newcastle is allowed to use those as an excuse, but Manchester United is not. And that is despite Manchester United being higher than Newcastle in the table.
Hopefully, with players returning and a few better referee calls, Manchester will do better

James ward prowse stats is dictated by the number of dead ball success he had. But the issue is his stats without it and you can see clearly why he doesn't fit the Liverpool style.
