Dear Beverly and Stewart, I totally agree with your opinion in conserving this historical property, in oder to let the comping generation see who Anne Lister and where she had lived. It is not heritage of England but eventually the entire the world which needs to be preserved. Very important. Keeping and protecting an ancient housing and building from the state reminds me a german word: referring to this is called: „Denkmalschutz“. A perfect word!
