came here to say this. There's a few hints throughout the show as to what family within Soul Society that Isshin is from, but they're super subtle and easily missed. (the earliest hint was dropped in the Soul Society invasion arc)

Visored (Dub made it Vizard) comes from Visor, which is a face cover (like the hats or face shields) so Soul Reapers covering their face with Hoillow Masks
Also the town Karakura has a meaning in Japanese, but I often think of it in Spanish like Cara(face) Cura(healing)

So just to give yâall some tidbits to chew on without spoiling what hasnât come to view yet. First of all Day your observation was correct that is indeed a Captains garb over his shoulder, Kubo probably had him wear it that way so we wouldnât be able to guess what Squad he used to be a captain of since every squad has a specific symbol and things to recognize them by. Second, remember when Ichigo was getting his powers back Urahara said he still had his own latent soul reaper powers deep in him? This is why. Lastly, as far as people not recognizing the name Kurosaki keep in mind his last name might not have been Kurosaki at that point. As far as we know it couldâve been Jones lmao, however people were recognizing Ichigo for a different reason
No spoilers but Kurosaki isn't his last name it was his wife's last name because if they heard his last name they'd recognize it instantly
And Soul Reapers do live a really really really long time
btw arrancar meaning both to start or to put in motion and to tear something off (as in their mask) in spanish
vizard means jack shit in Spanish but the transformation they call "hollowification" (when they bring the masks out) or whatever they call it in the dub is said "hollowkara" in japanesse which is most likely a play on words, it does mean hollowification but it also sounds like "hollow cara", cara being the Spanish for face

They did make the correlation in the soul society arc. When byakuya, ukitake and ichigo were on the tower Bridge. Byakuya told ukitake who he was to which ukitake responded "Kurosaki??"
And byakuya cuts him off immediately stating "no he isn't related to the one you are thinking of."
Which alludes to the fact that they knew a kurosaki besides ichigo.
No they didn't lol. Ukitake was surprised that Ichigo looked like his previous lieutenant, Kaien. Byakuya even brought up this same point when talking to Rukia after they initially found her in the world of the living.

Both Uryuu and Ichigo's dads pulled up, hype shit. These 2 eps are a great start to the arc. Vizards, like wizard but with a V, are soul reapers with masks and can control hollow powers.
Arrancars, origin is spanish (Julie should know right?), are hollows with broken masks, and gained a human body and can use swords or other weapons.
Um its not Vizard its Vizord as in visor in reference to the Hollow masks that they are visored with.
My line of thinking was that just cause they're both a Kurosaki, doesn't mean Ichigo gets a pass. He was still a Ryoga, still illegally entering the Soul Society, still trying to illegally interfere with Soul Society law, and was illegally given Soul Reaper powers. That, or Isshin is actually an ex-soul reaper captain. Isshin also just mentioned being at the level of a captain, not actually being one. I honestly don't remember so this isn't a spoiler or anything. Either way, I don't think the Soul Society would be super chummy with Isshin cause as far as we know right now he's not a current captain.

About Isshin..... Why nobody made the connection between ichigo and his dad is because Isshin took the last name of his wife so that he could keep himself hidden. Can't really tell you'll his actual last name cuz if you'll know it's gonna blow your mind
Here's an idea: since Ichigo himself didn't know about Ishin Kurosaki being a Soul Reaper, it stands to reason that he's in hiding for some reason. So it's entirely possible that Ishin Kurosaki isn't his real name. Or if the situation is something like that, he might've even taken his wife's name when they got married.

So, in regards to Isshan, a name is just a name. It's not permanent. He didn't have to be named Isshin Kurosaki when he was a Soul Reaper. Although, I think he was, it was just a long time ago when he was a Captain. This isn't spoilers, because I don't think the Anime ever fully addresses his backstory. I don't think the Manga does either. I think it's just left upto the imagination of the viewer.
In the final arc, there is an entire flashback for Isshin.

One thing I didn't like was that the I really wanted to see Ichigo finish his fight with grand fisher. Seeing as grand fisher was becoming an Arrancar they could have made that happen too
I really like that it was isshin, it was an event traumatic for the entire family, ishin deserved it
Ichigo managed to damage him in a way that other soul reapers couldnât manage which was a huge blow to his confidence. It makes sense for Isshin to come in and finish him off completely
After Isshin's backstory it just feels right that he was the one to kill the hollow. I mean I wouldn't mind if ichigo did it as well
Letâs just say Isshin is a âspecialâ case but it will be answered in the upcoming arc TYBW
There are plenty of reasons why the Soul Society may not have connected the name Kurosaki to Isshin. Just keep in mind that not everything everyone says in this show is 100% reliable or 100% the truth. No one knows everything, not even Aizen (despite the memes lol), and nobody shares everything unless they have to.
As we know when sshin reported the incident in the world of the living with that one Hollow he left our some "details"

Ishin Kurosaki is somewhat one of the oldest of shinigami since Kisuke Uruhara and Yoroichi know each other...he is in hiding because of what happened in the past...he took his wife's last name...everything will be revealed in the later arc and more in the upcoming new and final series thousand year arc...
I think this is a good point to stop and read " Everything but the Rain " which gives a little bit more back story to ichigo parents and ichigo himself
