Instead, the country is observing five days of mourning after he died in a helicopter crash.
There is no power vacuum, however.
According to the constitution, the first vice president assumes power until elections are held within 50 days.

There are quite a few incidents where women who didnt wear a head scarve got attacked by random civilians.. Of course those civilians feel empowered by the government.
And I think we should condemn things like that, no matter where they are happening. To stand for rights of human beings and morals is important in my opinion.

that helicopter was 45 years old supplied by the US, they discontinued production in 1999 and later refused to supply Iran with parts and maintenance for the helicopter, adding in, thick fog, low visibility and miscommunication was really a recipe for disaster.

Two facts about the deceased president, Mr. Raisi, whom Mr. Marandi lionizes: 1) Raisi won in a presidential race in which all the famous or charismatic reformists/democrats/leftists/liberals were disqualified from running, thus assuring his success in the race. 2) Raisi was part of a three-member panel that in 1988 executed prisoners belonging to several leftist rebel or opposition groups under peculiar circumstances: all the prisoners had been previously tried, convicted, and given prison terms. Now their old sentences were ignored and they were summarily executed as apostates if they did not repent and affirm belief in Islam. Several thousand were thus executed. This was one of the darkest human rights incidents in the twentieth century and certainly the worst in modern Iranian history.
I am confused about some people who call him,"the butcher" yet others mourn him. Also if there no signs of life at the crash site, who are they laying to rest? Last, I feel there will be no change there. I am sure the new leader will follow the same political agenda.

The Iranian government should have returned the two helicopters. Strictly interrogate everyone carried in that helicopter. If there was any kind of conspiracy, they must have known in advance. I heard the helicopter 🚁 was American made.
It was very old and they couldn’t buy parts due to sanctions. Bell 212 is a very old model that stopped production in the 90s. Helicopters need a lot of maintenance and they should never be flown in weather like that. Those conditions were too dangerous to fly in.
