- YEAR IN REVIEW | The WWF in 1994 (Full Year Documentary)
The year 1994 brought us a lot of great things, in the world of television we were first introduced to Friends, in music Nas released Illmatic, and in the WWF we would see the rise of a new generation. Yes, the golden era of Hulkamania was well and truly dead by now and in its wake, a new group of performers were taking over. But as 94 was also the year of the infamous steroid trial, it wasn’t always clear if Vince McMahon’s company would survive this change. So how did it all happen? Well; join us today as we take a deep dive into the entire story from start to finish in; The WWF in 1994: A Year in Review.

Ecw 1995 year in review
I think you should do a wcw year in review as well as a ecw year in review. Cause these are awesome.
Please do wcw in 2000
Keep them coming 👍
These WWF year by year videos are probably my favorites, please keep doing those. Can't wait for the Monday night wars. Still waiting for that Ricochet video.
My first full year of watching WWF from beginning to end, which also means my first Rumble, I was 10 and fully and positively hooked, these will always be some of my fondest Wrestling memories... Looking forward to Revolution tomorrow!
I remember when Owen was pleading with his mom to toss in the towel for Bret and had his evil smirk after 😈😇 Rest with the angels Owen you are missed
Such a great match
Loved that. And before that Bret had Backlund in the Sharpshooter (or might have been some other hold like the Figure 4), and Backlund was screaming for Owen to throw in the towel and Owen just stood there. The towel wasn't going anywhere.
I just wondered why he didn’t mention that during the Survivor Series match.
The fact that this video starts by mentioning Nas & Illmatic already made this a 🐐.. 1994 is when I first got introduced to WWF wrestling thru this video game that had Bret Hart, Undertaker, Yokozuna & Shawn Michaels as the main guys.. thems was the days...
When the Intercontinental belt meant something
1994 was the YEAR of Bret Hart.
1993 was also his year
96 and 97 was STING YEAR🙂
@@nandilukas112997 was also Stone Cold Steve Austin’s
Re: macho man being blackballed, there were rumours of him and Steph
On a lighter note, I will never forget hitman refusing to tap to the chicken wing, and Owen forcing their parent to throw in the towel
I like that his mother did it, but Stu tried to stop her, realizing what Owen was up to. At least that’s how I interpreted it.
Lol Survivor Series 1994, Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, my first wrestling event I ever went to!
That Stephanie incident came to mind too
Look, Bret is my favourite wrestler of all time, the childhood hero I've always looked upto but despite being the World Champion for most of the year, 1994 totally belonged to Owen. He was in a different league altogether, he might have not won that Brother vs Brother storyline but he was total fire at the time.
I'm probably in the minority and I admit I'm definitely biased but Owen Hart was the 1994 MVP of the WWF in my opinion. He's at least in the discussion with his brother and HBK. But Diesel seemed to be the company's pick.
I think you'll find many people who thought '94 was Owen's year.
Owen really did kick Bret's leg out of his leg!!!!!!!
One of the greatest promos in the history of our sport
Thank you for making the time putting these videos together. Can’t wait for the 1995 video.
Appreciate the support man. Plenty more on the way 👊🏻💪🏻🤘🏻
These summaries of WWE years is awesome. Andy does a great job.
94, they came to my hometown!! I put together a Bret poster, and Owen kept pointing and shouting at me...😲
Great times
Vince already knew Bret was more popular, that's why the finish of the Rumble was as rushed as it was, as he didn't wanna risk Lex getting booed in a final showdown between the two.
I really liked rhis trip down memory lane.. thank you andy
Appreciate it man, the new gen always had great nostalgia 💪🏻🤘🏻
He kicked his leg from under his leg why? Because he's selfish so selfish all he had to do is tag him but he's too selfish to tag him selfish
🤣🤣🤣
I remember all these moments especially that cage match with Bret and Owen. But damn that ladder match was legendary. Good job Andy!
Appreciate the support man, arguably the greatest ladder match of all time 🪜
Aye, props for that NAS shoutout. The greatest rapper of all time.
Nas or Tupac for sure
Give me your top 5 favorite rappers if you have the chance
@@WRESTLEWITHANDY you forgot ER.
@@zacharythomason7359 Man thats tough. Of course I think Nas is actually the best rapper but as far as overall influence impact, I generally have to put Pac at the top, I still listen to just as much Pac as I do Nas. But I'd say Pac, Nas, BIG, Jay, Jadakiss. But there's SOOO many honorable mentions.
It is amazing.... Bret kept proving himself time again.... Yet Vince looking for big wrestlers....
In my opinion.... All Vince had to do was not make Diesel Corporate and just let Diesel be Diesel from the 1994 Royal Rumble. Let Him have the belt as a heel in 1995. So Bret can be the "The People's Fighting Champion" who would have to deal with...Owen, Shawn and Diesel! Now that would have made 1995 epic.
@@dareason7581 👍👍 I agree 💯
I’d ask for mid/late 80’s, but the story is pretty much the same. Undercard stuff happens, someone challenges Hulk Hogan and nearly defeats him, Hogan hulks up and wins.
What do you mean by that ?
Not 1988
I'd say from 84-87 yea pretty much. To be fair Randy got his shot at the tail end of the decade
@@vizionaryentertainment8464 he did for a while, then Hogan hulked up and took the belt back lol
The "undercard stuff" is the real intrigue. Hence, Steamboat vs Savage > Hogan vs Andre.
1994 was such a fun year you had the start of the Owen Bret feud which led to some really good matches with those two and the new generation of stars from razor ramon to Shawn Michaels to diesel to etc and we also got other good feuds and a few storylines as well.
5:45 I’ll say it again, if the match is good, then it’s good. Star ratings don’t matter.
Undertaker vs Undertaker was a good storyline for the WWF in 94.
Thanks for doing these!! I watched up to 93 and was bummed when it stopped. Keep going!!
The year by year is for sure the best thing ever, thanks for doing the Sid one too
Love these videos. You sound like my late brother who was also named Andy so it's like he's still here
94'-I was 23 years old, in a rock band, and having more fun than was legally allowed. I was still somewhat aware of what was going on, but wasn't paying much attention to wrestling. I never seemed to be home to watch anything when it was on, and we didn't have the internet to catch up with everything. The first time the internet became relevant to wrestling for me was when the NWO was exploding into prominence. I remember it well, because I didn't understand the concept of clickbait yet, and was constantly clicking on links on wrestling sites that were making crazy claims, stuff like "HBK Joining NWO!" and I was clicking on every one of them to the point where I'd have like 20 windows open, with none of the open pages having anything even resembling the clickbait I'd clicked on.
Keep these comin this series is so dope!
Yes great look down memory lane great video upload enjoyed it look forward to the 95 review one next sometime ok 👍
17:56 Helen Hart threw in the towel, not Owen
She cared very much about her son bret.
In my rock voice “FINALLY” 🤣🤣
🤣👊🏻🤘🏻
I'm loving this series, can't wait for 1996🤘🏼
April 5, 1993 - March 20, 1994 - The Last Year of the "Golden Era"
March 21, 1994 - April 2, 1995 - The First Year of the "New WWF Generation"
I’d say 1992 was the last year of the Golden Era.
@@someguy7424 Hulk Hogan was still in the World Wrestling Federation even after Wrestlemania VIII. 1993 would've been the year to end the Golden Era, but Hogan ruined the Wrestlemania IX Main Event and won back the World Wrestling Federation Championship.
@@MrAce-lm8es Hogan was a veteran, so The Golden Era ended at Wrestlemania 8. Wrestlemania 9 was in the change of guards
Im really liking this series so far, keep up the good work.
Thank you I've been looking forward to seeing this episode
You do a great job with these. Thank you
Keep these up there amazing great job

Love that you shouted out Nas Illmatic… I will forever support this channel 💯💯💯

I'd love to own the year by year WWE dvd set from late 80's to mid 90's when I watched the most, think they did VHS specials at the time, which I think you can get on dvd with certain events etc.
Great job love these videos
This is when WWF was good.
Although “The New Generation Era” gets a lot of negativity. It had many great matches and PPVs. Although it also had its fair share of “wrestlecrap”. However, strictly from a wrestling standpoint, it was better than “The Attitude Era”.
WWF > WWE
Good video !!
Awesome content. Patiently waiting for wwf 1995
I think the reason Randy Savage was blackballed is because he had an affair with a then 17yrs old Stephanie McMahon.
Although that rumour has been circulating for years. It’s never been proven, or indeed disproven.
@@martynodonnell8467 I think Hulk Hogan confirmed, and Randy's ex wife did too.
@@martynodonnell8467 but Vince felt devastated
@@LucasFerreira-cq8qz if Hogan did “confirm” the rumour. I’d also keep in mind Hogan has never been the most honest source of information. I think if it were true there’s no way Savage would have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, back in 2015.
Undertaker returning at summerslam 94 was my favorite moment from my favorite wrestler.
I was 18. I enjoyed the year very much.
Thank you Andy
New to the channel. Enjoy watching the videos you share. 🤙
In 93 i was 7 years old. I had found wrestling watching crappy wcw Saturday night airings i snuck to watch after everyine went to sleep. It was ok. Later on in 94 my best friend Ben gives me a vhs tape at school that had the 94 WrestleMania recorded on it. I took it home and watched it over and over again. I instantly fell in love with the WWF and it was light years agead of what i had seen in the stale wcw shows. Bret Hart instantly became my favorite of all time and i stayed watching his carreer all the way to the wcw where i would stop watching wrestling all together by 1999. 94 to 98 were some of the best times to be a wrestling fan and a kid. Wouldnt trade that vhs tape for the world.
RIP Razor and Owen.
I forgot Scott Hall was in that match Shawn Michaels had against that ladder.
It was good to relive these moments. But I’m STILL requesting a video on TERRY FUNK. JUST DO IT ALREADY!!! sheesh 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
I would love to see one on Terry too!
@@DemnRaig80 I keep asking and I’m not going to stop until we finally get to see it.
You actually said "kicked his leg out of his leg," that promo was so great 😂🤣😂🤣
You can even hear him chuckle after that
This man mentioned that '94 was when Nas dropped 'Illmatic'. Salute.
Nice Illmatic reference
Love the videos
I'm shocked you added illmatic
One of the greatest albums of all time 💿
I love these.
A Nas reference? Quality start to the video
Kicked his leg out of his leg? I chuckled
Great job documenting 1994 in the WWF. Ever consider doing one on WCW?
Soon
Old WWF merchandise is worth a lot of money now a days.
We are getting closer to 1995-1997.
The golden era of wrestling right here! 👉😍🙌
It's so good to hear the WWF name
Dang, I miss Owen! What a talent he was!
Razor Shawn deisel the were the man
Specially Bret the hitman was real deal and thank you Andy for respective keep them coming
That was a great finish to the Rumble. And the Yoko and Undertaker finish was epic
The last full year of my childhood.
I so much wanted this video
2:07 that's still cool
Pure nostalgia!
Please do a video on Bianca Belair and Montez Ford in the near future!!!
awesome series
WRESTLEMANIA ARCADE GAME 🕹 Memories too
What a good year for wrestling. Just overall a good year for everything.
I think you need to rewatch Survivor Series. Owen didn't throw in Brett's towel, it was their Mother, Helen Hart who took the towel from Stu, & threw it into the ring.
Getting better at the inaccuracies. Although Owen did not throw in the towel at Survivor Series, his mom did. This is an important part of the storyline, so getting it wrong is bad.
He convinced his mom to throw in the towel. And honestly, it's not a particular important part of the story at all. The point of who threw in the towel had no impact on anything that would happen after that point, in fact.
Which song nazz realeased???
😭😭😭
If I went back in time to actually book this event in 94 I would have had lex Luger drop the belt to Randy Savage at the survivor series in 93 and start off 94 Randy Savage being world champion leading to him versus Bret Hart at wrestlemania at 10. Have bert drop the belt to Owen at survivor series (suck it up Owen you're going to get the belt whether you like it or not) for the rest of 1994.
19 minutes late, but I'm here now.. Afternoon all.
Afternoon bro 👊🏻
Underrated year of WWF; Owen was hilarious and Bret had good chemistry with all his opponents.
This and reliving the war is my church on Thursdays
94 is one of my favorite years of wrestling
CZcams trying to get me to download Pokemon Go like I aint got it already 😆
I rather watch Andy 😆
Yeah! Thanks Andy
Enjoy the vid bro 🤟🏻👊🏻💪🏻🤘🏻
Dont forget Joe
The two WrestleMania matches for sure but for third I'd take Bret vs. 1-2-3 Kid on Raw over the Bret - Owen cage match. Shawn and Razor on Raw was a good one too.
Alundra Blayze looking like The Bride 9 years before Kill Bill came out
I cant wait for 1995!
The fact that you chose Nas over all other albums from that year... 🤘
Do you have a Patreon?
Not right now bro, Im going to look into CZcams memberships tho
Okay bro thanks
When will you make an UMAGA video. I wanna know his hisyory
From what I’ve seen in this video the most mentioned name wasn’t Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. It was Owen Hart. Which is why his death is all the more tragic. He was soooo good.
I'm so glad I grew up in the 90s, it was such an awesome time. Much better than these days. Wrestling was at its best too in this time period. I'd say from 1994 to 98, great memories. For me, 1999 and onwards was never as good. Thanks for the video.
Wats wrong with 1999-2022 memories wrestling sucks now but people loved 1999
@@kashanegreen8090 I don't like that time period as much that's why
