Just picked up my daughter from JFK at 545 am this morning. Slight delay from Denver but every flight after her last night delayed or grounded. Her boyfriend was scheduled on a different flight an hour later on American was delayed almost 15 hours. Yikes
Memories, back in 1967 had to fly to North Carolina on a DC7 (piston engine plane) between the delays and lay overs what should have been a 3hr flight took 8hrs! Got my pilot's license (1970) and any flight up to 800 miles is faster than commercial travel !😎🛩
Cloudstrike did this to the world and Microsoft is catching flak for something they didn't do. Microsoft's done similar crap in the past, but this mess isn't on them. And OH WOW what a mess! Airports, hospitals, hotels, card processors, DMVs, stores, and so much was down today. The machines stuck in bluescreen have to be manually fixed. It's a simple fix where you just delete a file, but IT has to visit every system to do it.
This is why I started migrating to Linux and FOSS (Free Open-Source Software) several years ago. Microshaft has benn going downhill for years. I look forward to dropping MS completely. I take great care in avoiding corporate lock-in software. It's not always easy or straighforward, but it's well worth it. Now, where is the FOSS HVAC software...?
