Being from England myself, I have been to Malaysia 6 times and Thailand 4 times, and KL is my favourite city that I have been to with Bangkok being a close second, and I have travelled to many cities around the world. Bangkok is chaos and fun where KL is serene, modern and beautiful. English is widely spoken in Malaysia compared to Thailand as it is a Commonwealth country but it is an amazing country with so many things to do. You think Thailand was amazing, just wait until you have properly explored Malaysia like I did. And I am planning to be in Malaysia again for the 7th time including coming to KL after a 2 week trip for my 4th visit to Indonesia.
By the way, since you are close to Masjid Jamek, you need to see that at night when the River of Life glows - it is amazing. But Kl has much more than that, especially with the parks and forest in the centre - Eco Forest next to Menara Tower and Perdana Botanical Gardens
I couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks 👍
Wayne, we have so much in common. Like you I have traveled all over south east Asia and have only recently returned from 60 days roaming all over Malaysia. My interest for Malaysia was sparked when I worked for three seasons in F1 2000, 2001 and 2002. Sepang was my favourite circuit. It was at the height of Michael Schumachers F1 career. Enjoy Malaysia.
Nice one Nobby, 2000 was the the start of Michael’s dominance for Ferrari. What a great time to be working g in F1 👍
Yup, those days were the greatest f1 sounding machine. Proud to be able to watch schumi the greatest driver during his years here. Just come back nobby and enjoy your retirement here.
Schumacher was so amazing, you've likely heard of Tom Brady, he was the Brady of F1, or Brady was the Schumacher of the NFL. Both had 7 championships. Both were handsome and absolutely meticulous over every detail, whether in the film room or the garage. Amazing athletes.
@@Ameng3471 I travel all over now and have been retired for eight years. Next winter will be spent between Vietnam and Malaysia. I love south east Asia so much...
we can speak english not because we were formerly colonised by the british. it's simply because english is taught in school for the simple reason it's the no 1 international language. the language of business and knowledge.
Nice! Yes, English is the world's language.
We are a former British colony and English is our 2nd language. But bear in mind that there are many migrant workers from Bangladash, Pakistan, India,Indonesia who don't speak English.
Thanks, it’s good to know that not everyone speaks English here.
@@WalkAboutWayne those who can't speak english neither Malay .... confirmed, they are migrant and not Malaysian
Wow KL looks like a beautiful city. I will add it to the bucket list.
Great city 👍
😮😮😮
Malaysia is my second favourite country in SE Asia after Thailand. People are friendly, food is good & varied, infrastructure is brilliant, 90-day visa & decent value for people from Europe, Australia & N. America. I was living a few months at a time in Penang before COVID. I think Thailand lovers are sceptical because it does not have the crazy nightlife, but that is not everything especially as you get older.
I think it could be my second favorite already, also. The food and the people are great. Maybe a bit more expensive than I'm use too but I'm sure I could find a cheap way of living here. Thanks.
I love Malaysia so much, I just bought a seaside condo with a view to die for. In the US, that view would cost oh $5-10 million dollars.
It's a great country from the little that I've seen. Sounds like you have a nice place.
I am planning to visit Malaysia first time in November. Penang and Langkawi islands are in bucket list also. It looks so nicer and cleaner than Bangkok.
Welcome in advance 😂
Nice! I'm sure you'll have a great time. It's a very clean city.
KL is the best among South East Asia country and quite balance in many aspects compared to cities in Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand. One thing making the trip enjoyable and serene is no one is pestering you to buy junks you don't even need in Malaysia. It's not perfect but I'm very satisfied on what Malaysia has to offer.
It’s a great city, lots of pestering at Chinatown market though. More than Thailand probably. I love Malaysia though.
@@WalkAboutWayne chinatown is a market and in other SEA countries, even the common streets are full of pestering sellers that wants to sell me junks that I don't need, it ruins the serene experience.
Hey Wayne! My very first visual exposure to Malaysia and its people; quite impressed with its modern image, the cleanliness, minimal traffic and most friendly citizens speaking proper English. Malaysia is already on my bucket list of countries to visit and experience. Nice that you split the video into day and nighttime views. Good video and description of this beautiful country!
Thank you ! I’m supposed by this city myself. Very clean and modern place. It gets busy but never seems overly crowded. It’s a nice place
No horns honking... thats nice. Beautiful looking city. Hope to visit someday soon.
Yes, not to many. That's a big thumbs up for no honking.
@@WalkAboutWaynehonking is not the culture in Msia
Bruh honking is considered as rude in Malaysia and can cause scuffle or even streetfight unless under emergency circumstances.
I have only been to KL a handful of times and it has blown me away every time.
Yes, it has that effect, for sure.
It makes you feel welcomed and you don't feel like everyone is trying to get at your money like in some other SEA countries.😅
@@nickloong The farang tax!
Cost of living is very affordable and the city looks nice and clean.
It’s reasonable for the style of living, for sure.
Affordable cost of living is simply because Malaysia has natural resources.
KL is quite a change from Thailand. I had a great apartment on the 40th floor right across from the Petronas Towers, it's so beautiful at night there.
Do you mind sharing the name of that apartment?
Yes, very difficult from Thailand. Wow that would be amazing having a place near the towers.
😮😮😮
The Petronas Towers are absolutely amazing, man, usually video never does what you're seeing justice, but when you see them all lit up at night, that really takes it to another level. I was genuinely looking up at those in a sense of awe. I've really got to see this in person sometime mate. The people are friendly and speak English! What kind of paradise have you stumbled into?
Thanks buddy! Yes, the towers look incredible when all lit up
What an amazing city Wayne. My dear parents used to go there regularly from Oz and meet up friends that travelled from the UK and they always raved on about how they loved it there. This video reinforces to me what they said and brings back some pleasant memories.. Beautifully presented and enjoyed the on the hour light show too. Thanks buddy 🤩
Cheers mate, it sure is a great city.
What a place looks mint , compared to thailand where nothing looks finished ..
That’s true 🤣. Kuala Lumpur is definitely a top looking city.
MashaAllah. This guy show respect wherever he goes. Hats off to you Wayne......😊❤🎉
Thank you mate, I try to show manners and respect.
Malaysia is Truly Asia, everything u can have here easily for shopping and eating😊.. Don't forget to visit Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia with a beutiful go-Green concept of the city...
Thank you ! Malaysia is great 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne 👋👍
KLCC area, the KLCC park and fountain, the Petronas Twin Towers are such a beautiful place, day and night, what a lovely iconic landmark in KL.
In the podium between the Petronas Twin Towers, where you saw the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Car, the front lobby with beautiful chandeliers, it's where the Petronas Philharmonic Concert Hall is.
I agree, really nice area. Thanks
@@WalkAboutWayne Wonderful. I really enjoy watching KLCC. 😁
The bird chirping sound feels like i am in a jungle.
Lovely sound. It does sound like a jungle, I agree.
When I made KL I thought I was back home in Melbourne AU....similar in many ways...
Yes, it does have the feel of some UK cities also.
Yes, very similar to some UK cities also. 👍
yeaa...i tought i was the only person who noticed that..especially in cdb but melbourne traffic not quite complicated compare to Kl.
yeahh of course ..the big different is..
theres no trams in KL but have a good MRT system which is not available in melbourne. .
A friend of mines son was chief engineer on the bridge of the
Petronas towers an Ozzie
Nice one! What a job 👍
The tower behind you at 0:19 is called KL Tower there's an ECO FOREST where you climb a few canopies and walk through rope bridges. You can reach that it's iconic too.
Yes, I think I prefer the area around KL Tower 👍
Thanks you Wayne and your new friends in K.L for warming my heart on this cold, wet and dark day is miserable old Portland. I'm ready and longing to go back to Malaysia.
BTW, many Malaysian's English was better then mine as well.
Cheers mate!
Thanks for the great message Jack. I hope it warms up for you a bit buddy. Yes, they speak proper English better than me haha
@@WalkAboutWayne Thanks Wayne. Next week supposed to be up to about 90F (33C) and the world's worst pollen an asthma season to return in full bloom (until at least August), something that keeps many of us prisoner, and something that never effected me in Japan and SE Asia. It was like paradise to be able to enjoy summer weather without ending up sick.
Despite whatever sacrifices and annoyances you may have to endure there, I'd say you're living what many of us would prefer and dream of. .
Bobby D is in Malaysia 🤩 - lots of colour & happy people not too busy - good vibes ✌️👌👍👋😃🙏
Cheers Ant! Bobby Dazzler mate.
Beautiful Wayne. I want to go there too.
Well worth a visit 👍
Hmmm.... I was staying at a hotel room near Masjid Jamek station back in November 2023. The SOGO mall isn't far from your lodging. I was in KL for one week only. Thanks for the video and enjoy your stay there, mate.😊
I like this area, easy to get places and the food is amazing around here.
We went to KL last year and thought that it was a mix of Bangkok and Singapore.
That's why it lies in between;-)
I’ve not been to Singapore but KL gives me vibes of the west and Bangkok. Mixture
thats what i thought too!
Hi Wayne, me and the Mrs went there in the 80’s, it has changed so much, it’s looking great. The people are great aren’t they? Great Vlog!, you got to get to the Cameron Highlands for a day or two. Great strawberries and a bit cooler.
Nice one Phil, yes great people mate. 👍
KL and Panang are both on list, mate. Cracking good video.
Cheers Buddy 👍
KL looks awesome Wayno,
Yes! It’s a great modern city.
I was there briefly in March 2020, quick visa run to KL before the borders closed. The beer was quite pricey down the main bar street, but I got a cheaper beer down Chinatown and the food was good. I will go back there as English is widely spoken unlike Thailand, even though I know a little bit of Thai, enough to get by.
Nice! Yes beer seems a bit pricey but I found some cheap food about.
I went to a place just outside of the city in Chiang Mai and it was the beginning of a water swimming hole. It was built in an old mining/excavation site that had filled with water. Someone bought the area and added a little coffee/lunch place, some floaties for rent and some places to climb and dive from carved out of the natural surroundings. I wish I could tell you how to get there but I don't remember the exact directions it was some years ago now and I am sure it has been either further developed or built into something no longer free with very basic areas to park in. KL looks great! Enjoy.
Thats The Grand Canyon in Hang Dong 👍 an old quarry turned into a water park. Cheers 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne Yes! You've been? Have you been recently? I have not seen it for some years and wonder if it is built up more now.
Welcome to KL, Malaysia. Hope that you have had a good time and a pleasant stay. Have a good weekend.
Thank you Yasin 👍
@@WalkAboutWayne You are welcome. 😁
There are many foreign workers in Malaysia and they are from Indonesia, Bangladesh I think
Malaysia is like dubai of SEA where workers and expats congregates from all over the world so it is common to see races from all over the worlds and sometimes we hardly distinguished between locals and foreigner 😂😂😂. But that what make us different 😂😂😂
Nice! Yes, so many different people here and so many languages.
Guess you start the day to early it got me blown away with the traffic congestions everytime off to work anyway enjoy your time and have a pleasant stay chow!😁
I've seen it busy here but nowhere near Bangkok levels. Dead quiet most mornings. Cheers buddy.
Most people s in Malaysia active when sun goes down around 5-12am ehich is not too hot. If you like nature you can go to Perdana Lake Garden and Titiwangsa Lake Garden but don’t go on midday, just too hot. If you looking for local food, please visit Kampung Baru , oldest and the only one Malay village in KL city. Also here in Malaysia many immigrants came from Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar etc and most of them can’t speak English. Anyway enjoy your stay in KL/Malaysia
Welcome to Malaysia Wayne. Always enjoy your videos.
Thank you my friend 🙏

You never know. Could be the new place to be.

I did exactly that, and I can't be happier, WAYNE lad, you are a F.....g legend mate huge respect. Thankyou! Never stop what you're doing, you was born for it. Top Video!

Great video. I have been curious about what selfie stick that you use. You always have great transitions.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the Kuala Lumpur Scenery, my friend. I life in KL too! The city's beauty was truly mesmerizing and captivating. Thank you for sharing this amazing experience with us!
Yes, it’s a great city, I’ve loved it so far. Thanks
Cool
Thanks 👍
Awesome stuff mate home of my favourite all time food coconut curry yum yum
Cheers mate. The food is so good 👍
I really wanted to go to KL after Chiang Mai before I flew to Europe in 2022, but Covid was still causing problems. I still want to go there and then back to Singapore. I understand how humid it must be; I visited my sister in Singapore once and was amazed that it was even more humid than Florida and the Caribbean, I didn’t think that was possible.
It’s a great city. Very humid , especially with the daily rains. Really nice modern city though.
Nice city it’s so quiet Wayne nice train service as well music is good very friendly people Wayne
Thanks mate 👍
Hope you enjoyed KL ..
haven’t spent time in KL for ages
KL is quiet early in the morning because the locals are stuck in traffic coming into KL if it’s on the weekday
Thanks! Yes, really enjoying KL. Great city 👌
Welcome to Kuala Lumpur 🎉
Thank you! It's a great city.
Great place to be Wayne, i lived there 6 months. If you have time go for a day trip to Malakka, great history. Stay safe.
Cheers mate. Yes, it's a great place.
10 years ago I stayed at the Corus Hotel a 5 minute walk from the Petronas towers. I used the food court in the shopping centre quite a lot, many different foods. The fountain and the walk around the park is exactly how I remember it 👍
Sounds like the perfect location. 👍
live in KL does not really start early morning...most of the shop open at 10am...some people do start their work at 7.30am to 9am...thats why you will see not many people in the morning..and many South Asian people like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan tourist came to KLCC, so dont assume those looks like Malaysian Indian are local, most probably they are Bangladeshi or Indian.
Yes, late starters like Thailand. Malaysia seems more quiet though.
Hi Wayne, another great vid bra.
loved the Sax
Was that Too Many Zooz? I love those guys.
Nice one buddy. I’m lost on the Sax though mate ?
@@WalkAboutWayne look up Too Many Zooz Bedford
Nice one Wayne 🙂

I like Malaysia the food is amazing you can eat Malay Indian and Chinese not as spicy as Thailand
I agree, the food is incredible.
Great camera for the night scenes. The colours and images are fantastic. Enjoy all the different foods on offer in Malaysia. They don't call it a foodies paradise for nothing. Enjoy! Lol😊
Thanks ! The footage came out ok. I was happy with it.
welcome to malaysia ❤🎉 hope u had a great experience with malaysia 🎉
Thank you! It’s great to be in Malaysia ❤️
Stay hydrated wayne. Depending of your area, it could scourching hot and some pretty wet. El nino hit us quite hard so just stay safe and hydrated
Raining most days and humid . Thanks
Very nice park, was there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It can get a little crowded. Think that same F1 car was there when we visited the mall. If not the same one, one just like it.
Yup, it is the lewis hamilton winning f1 car, the petronas Mercedes f1 car since petronas is the title sponsor for mercedes, but without the engine ofcourse 😂😂😂
The park is a nice area, I can see how it attracts people , especially with the towers and mall. Not sure what year Lewis’ car is on the wall. But probably the last championship car.
May all your wishes come true in your heart feel soul
Thank you!
Welcome to Malaysia. Enjoy your stay here
Thank you! It’s nice to be in Malaysia 🇲🇾
It's a hot one there as well. Depending on the time of day. It's gridlock. Was there for a month in April. I was staying in the city center. Less car pollution. It's gonna rain almost all day around 4pm.
Yes, almost everything you said has happened. It rains every day and it's hot.
Excellent narration hahahah
Thanks 👍
you should walk in KL botanical garden and titiwangsa lake garden. Both are big garden. The botanical garden build by british during the occupation pre indiependent.
Maybe one day 👍
Enjoyed in Malaysia.. 🤘
Thank you 🤩
The couple who chatted with u in the park were indonesian tourists, i could tell from their accent, n the people who wanted to take a photo with u were not Malaysians because Malaysians r not fazed by foreigners n we r a well travelled people. 😊

Cool city , enjoying your views , reminds a lot of Singapore with the high rises , also a humid city. The fountains similar to Johannesburg that play symphonic music . The NY twin towers were awesome and great to visit years ago.hope you can go up kl towers. Is this an expensive city compared to Thailand?
Thailand is more expensive than Kuala Lumpur
Thank you! It does seem slightly more expensive yes. I’m sure you could find really cheap areas but it seems more expensive than Thailand.
