Hi, di! I am about to complete my master's in geology in about a month. The glamour of the oil and gas industries had me trapped in my earlier semesters until I attended the classes of an extremely inspiring professor from our department. The professor's approach and thought processes on literally anything are beyond my reach, which motivated me a lot to pursue higher studies instead of finding a job in the and gas sector.
But the thing is, my ignorance of higher studies (PhD) in my earlier semesters made me stay away from engaging myself in any research projects. Now, in my last semester, I am left only with a thesis to earn my master's degree, and I don't have enough time to put in the effort needed to publish it.
Thus, my question is, what are the chances of getting into a PhD program in the US without any publications?
