Thank you so so much.This is undoubtedly the best video on this topic that I have come across.Curently I am in my final year of M.Sc(In Applied Geology and geoinformatics from NIT Durgapur) and am planning to apply for a phd in the US after this.But I was extremely confused that should I wait for a year after my masters( ends in may 2022) and maybe gather some experience,finish my masters thesis and then apply for a phd for fall 2023 or should i just go forward with it now,in my 3rd semester of masters(with an unfinished masters thesis and not much research experience) with my application for fall 2022!! But this video made things very clear for me.Thank you so much again!!!....Saving it for future references.

This video could be the breaking point for many of us who were thinking and trying to make up their mind about higher studies in US. Now a lot of doubt has been cleared, specially in my case. I have a master degree in computer science from UK. I am currently in Pakistan teaching in a university for the last decade, yet to enroll in PhD Program. How can i start applying, keeping in view my very brief research publications (total of 2) non impact. How can I make professors look into my CV with Masters from UK and bulk of teaching academia experience in teaching but not research. What would professor make of my CV and what are the factors, the professor would call upon me for an interview for securing admission in PhD.

U will have to check the particular university website. Earlier, most universities required GRE and TOEFL scores, regardless of the course u plan to do. Only the cutoff used to be different across courses. In the past couple of years, GRE requirement is being waived by many universities. I will suggest looking up websites of the universities you plan to apply to see their requirements and plan accordingly.

I think your English has to be pretty good in order to get admission from a good university for PhD.

No. It will be possible only after the spouse has done some additional years of studying in the US. An Indian medical degree won't be sufficient to land your spouse in a job as a doctor in the US. But if your spouse succeeds in cracking an opportunity in the US as a doctor, it is totally worth the efforts.
