How To Replace Access Cover Velcro

  • The first step in replacing your Velcro strips on the Access Cover rails is to take the existing Velcro strips off.
    We’ve found that the easiest way is to take a flat head screw driver and just run along underneath the Velcro.
    Then clean off the rails using Isopropyl Alcohol and then an adhesive preparation solution.
    And then replace the strips on the rails.
    Then drill holes through the rails so you can put in rivets and then rivet down the Velcro down the rail.
    Do the same steps on the other rail and you’re all set for the road.
    Roll back the cover and attach the Velcro strips.

    I was told the velcro comes attached to a stiff vinal piece that slides in a groove

    I was looking to replace the other part of the velcro(the one that is on the cover)any suggestions or does this have to be done professionally?

      that is stitched on. would be cheaper to get a new cover
