One thing different that mine did was that when I initially booted it up and went to the login screen, it read that the internet connection was good (even though it wasn't receiving a connection). I just went ahead and proceeded as you did in the video (unplugged the modem for 10+ seconds, and plugged it back in). All went well! Thanks again.
Took me 3 hours plus this video to find out I had my wifi manual button turned off and that's why it wasn't setting up. Thanks for the lead, I'm good now.

One thing I would recommend is to do a more realistic test of the internet. Run the test when there is only one device connected and then with all of the devices normally running and using the internet. Compare the two speeds. That shows a more realistic performance for the internet in your house (apartment, whatever) and the performance of the router rather than just doing the test when there is only one device connected.
I have questions if you can answer for me ? When this guy puts in the ip address to get to Netgear site , his said admin than he had to put in a password ? Is admin already there ? Or will it come up as Netgear with a 2 digit number next to it & did he make up his own password or did he use the password & ssid that came with that router ?? Sum one comment on a post stating if you change the ssid you'd have to change all your devices ?
Nice video. I have the AC4000 nighthawk WiFi5 older one. In terms of performance of online gaming, watching movies on firestick, going on my CPU etc. Is the AX5200 that much of a better performance of speed and bandwidth then mine?

Okay the passwords that I mentioned should be described in the video, the sticker that comes with the device SSID PASSWORD that is the wifi password but the username and password are only the system password that we log onto to the device using a browser to configure the system.
I just bought this router at Costco, ($130) and my antennas were shrink wrapped together with no color coding or markings that were for front or back positions.

I used my phone with the Netgear app to set up the router and the connection never worked with the phone but did with my laptop but connectivity seemed bad and slow to load web pages. i hooked my old Asus router back up and will stick with that until I find another option

Probably you bought a return from a customer who did not know how to install them & threw the bags away no worries check the end of the antenna like how I showed in the video & let me know what happens. Would not make sense to add that kind of complication to the manufacturing process if it can be avoided. Does not seem like you would want to use directional antennae on this kind of device.

@@johnbart8454 Just do a factory reset. Turn off the power and look for a small hole on the rear of your router. Depress the button inside for 10 seconds. Plug your router back in and wait for it to get online again. Then look for a sticker on your router. It should have the factory login and password.

@@falldogbombsthemoon yeah I got mine to work after pushing in the button in the back with a pin and then updating it but it still didn’t give the desired results with some devices but I figured out I could prioritize certain devices with my computers WiFi 6 card and then I ended up getting the speed. Before I prioritized through my pc but after the reset the router gave me 860mgbs now I’m getting 1200mgbs
@@MattOwensU no matter what i did even prioritizing never got my main speed. Honestly after struggling with it that much and the built quality I figured i would just return it.

I will never buy anything with the Netgear name again, the customer service is the most horrible of all time....not only do they sound like they just got out of bed, it over in Vietnam they had me on the phone for 2 hours and most of the time was waiting for them to connect and dont let your phone for some reason disconnect from the call because when you call back? you will be waiting another 2 hours....
I dont have a QR code and it wont detect the router in systems to connect manually. The app is no help and if anyone wants to buy this off me let me no

Don't forget if you change the SSID, you will have to reconnect all previous connected devices.

My old Netgear 94 I left on & didn't. Change that when I set that up years ago , I just made a password

Mine sucks no colored bags and , my internet is half the speed i was getting before installing it.
