So for the last few years, both the JBL Flip 6 and JBL Charge 5 have been my favorite speakers to recommend cause thanks to their woofer and tweeter setup, these speaker sound very good. Plus they’re portable and durable. But now, Sony has copied the woofer and tweeter set up that found in both of these JBL speakers and the ULT Field 1 actually sounds better than the Flip 6 and the ULT field 1 really gives the JBL Charge 5 a real run for it money. So today, let's see if JBL should be worried about the new Sony ULT Field 1.

The recent Sony ult line up is awesome...they focused on the midrange and let em shine in their speakers which was what was lacking in their previous speakers
Sony ult field one is so close to being perfect in my opinion but not having party connect is a deal breaker especially for those who are in the sony ecosystem.
Yeah Sony really messed up not having party connect on the Ult Field one. Gonna have to pass on it because of it.
Most probably they are going to soon release more new havier ULT speakers, which are going to be linkable. Every new generation of speakers is not comparable with the previous one.

It depends, 99% of cases Charge 5 is better. Remember that Charge 5 is 2021 and Sony is 2024 model.

Can’t blame JBL, those speakers have been out for a while now, at this point and time it’s a miracle that Sony finally gave REAL love to their speakers and not only "warm" sound experience but real and bold sound

Considering the passive radiators on the sides help the lows dramatically I would say the woofer itself handles the mid range very well and only seems to get better quality once the speaker is broken in
@@haydenmckenzie1437Yeah, the passive radiators are basically there to reduce the excursion of the woofer around the passive radiators resonant frequecies.
But how do you all burn-in your speakers though?
@joshking4679 simply use it frequently but don't blast it all the time of course still treat it with care but but since Jbl speakers are such high quality and the woofers are stiff and have not been flexed much at all aside from factory testing but over time you'll notice the sound quality become more warm and full overall it's very cool

If I'm being honest the recording had a bit to do with what I heard and possibly how the platform the music was played off of because I listened to the sound test through my JBL charge 5 and it sounds way better and balanced when you switched to the sony. Yes even through my charge 5 I can hear how well the Sony performed but there's no way the JBL,s sounded that bad. I've played many genres of music though my charge 5 and they don't sound distorted like that. But that's my experience. I'm not to raise any arguments or anything I'm just trying to figure out what happened. I have a Sony srs-x55 that I still enjoy to this day from time to time so yeah
SRS 55 may be an amazing speaker
I LOVE my SRS 55! Sadly it's not holding a charge but it still beats my Charge 5
@@michelegarrigan5425 I would disagree. The SRS-x55 is a 30w speaker and the charge 5 is a 40w. And I have both. My charge 5 is definitely better in sound quality. It could be possible you don't have it updated or haven't tried the eq on the JBL app. Or It can be how have the source the music Is coming from.

For me JBL is garbage becuase it doesn't sound surround like Bose. I have the Bose Portable Smart Speaker and my cousin has the Xtreme 3 and the Bose is way better. The Bose sounds like your in a movie theater while JBL sounds like a regular speaker. We played the same music and our family members said the Bose sounds better.
