Could you provide some direction to the EU process and procedure for couples where one of the couple is an EU citizen with a European passport. For example, a French citizen married to an American or Canadian. I read that the American has to get a special long term visa to France, which then allows both of them to live anywhere in the EU, including Spain or Portugal. Do you have any elaboration about this? Thanks!

I'm 39 years old and made the move this year and bought apartment in Spain because I plan to retire there in 10 years or so. i have met retirees there who living comfortably on 1k a month of course they own their homes and pay no rent. Rent is the biggest challenge that keeps increasing in both countries.
Buying a place in foreign country is a major step. I would rent in a country for at least a year before thinking of buying.
@@vladseva2327 i wouldn't call it a major step people have been buying overseas properties for a long time now and it is part of portfolio diversity. You can use for vacation and later on for settling down, the question is this would you buy house today or 10 years later?
@kararkhan8720 whenever a person spends a few hundreds thousands of dollars in a foreign country, it is a major step unless you are talking about 1% of ultra rich people.
The word is spelled SAFETY not SAFTEY.... Now why don't CZcamsrs ever discuss the fact of Spain and Portugal being part of the EU extremist Woke mentality causing farmers to rise up everywhere in Europe, and why don't CZcamsrs seriously address the implications of being in Europe in a time when these NATO countries are constantly facing the threat of war with Russia?? It would be a good idea to describe living in Portugal when married to an EU citizen of one of the EU countries, under which type of visa??
