(necessita MidiOx o altro software su Pc/Mac)

Grazie per il vostro tempo

- 64 performance soundset equalized for live on JP8000 Roland
No arpeggiators - no techno/house sounds.
Load mode: sysex file via Midi (MidiOx software is required)

Thank you for watching

this synth looks so good, almost like its a dashboard of a spaceship
It felt great too. Felt pleasantly rough, almost like it was made of stone.
I remember reading keyboard magazines review of this synth. They said that Prince went out a purchased eight of these and I thought damn that must be a really nice keyboard and yes it is!
It's 2018 your playing is amazing. Your talent makes this synth shine.
Best thing i ever did with my JP8000, JD800, JV1010 and any other of my MIDI synths was to use MIDIQuest's 'randomize' feature to completely change the character of the synth and to create new sounds you would never expect from them - so many of the same old 80's patches on them makes me want to hurt something/someone. And... I love 80's music, but I'm not in a cover band. When i got the JD800 i almost immediately sold it until i put it thru MIDI Quest and tweaked the results into 'keepers'. These are powerful synths that are crappified by the stock sounds.
oh my gosh. I am in love with the Roland JP-8000. I want!
I really dig that Richard Barbieri patch! Love Japan
Bravo! Excellent demo play
thank you for such a great demo my friend, its very entertaining
Glen :-)
Great demo of this great machine!
Very good performance!.Thank You!
Custom Sound Stupendi! Bravo!
This sounds great! :) Thanks for the tunes!
Pretty awesome sounding synth and presets are top notch most of time.
I've invested in so many vsti's, I had almost forgotten how powerful and pure the hardware waveforms were. My first love was a Roland D-50 (wish I still had that classic), and a Korg M1. At the time my best friend owned a Yamaha DX7, and I remember being fascinated by the relative brightness and pure bells produced by FM synthesis. Later, I discovered a darker synthesis with Oberheims and Waldorfs, and tried my best to keep up with Depeche Mode and Vince Clarke rigs and early E-mu samplers. I lusted after untouchable instruments like Fairlights, Moog Modulars and Synclaviers of course, but my first love will always be that Roland because it taught me the simple basics of synthesis. Thanks for posting this!
No offense dude...but you need to refine your VST shopping skills. There are plenty of VST's that achieve all the warmth, depth & analogue goodness of hardware.Keep in mind also, that the JP8000(though hardware)..is still just VA synth(not that there is anything inferior with VA.)There is a soft-synth demo from BeepStreet, that you need to try...called Sunrizer(it's a JP8000 emulation.)It has all the sonic goodness of the Roland, except that it is more powerful and trumps the JP8000 with it's 24 note polyphony & additional effects. On the subject of hardware versus software, also check out U-HE's Diva,Hive,Zebra 2 and VirtualOberheim's OBX Pro soft-synths and then say again, how "pure" & "powerful" hardware waveforms are, over software.By the way,BeepStreet's Sunrizer synth,is only $50!
Philo Beddoe Yaaaaaaaaaawn...
Playing a real Synth feels way better than watching those Softsynths on your Screen.
There's a world besides DAWs :)
+Dennis Ulrich I've used hardware since 1986 and what makes me yawn,is shelling out thousands of dollars for shit keybeds and being limited to 49 keys, with certain models.I also grew tired of certain keys failing, screen failures ,OS crashes, memory card issues,no upgrade options or very limited upgrade options, computer integration issues, keyboard chasis's being made out of particle board, repair shop jerk offs who make defects even worse and trying to find replacement parts that don't exist(because the f**king keyboard is long out of production.)What excites me about computer DAW's,is being able to choose & customize the keybed size & quality you need, choosing the level of PC integration you want and spending a minimal amount of coin,in the process. With software, there is no compromise in quality and HD space(provided you spend the extra coin, which is far less than any moderate to high end hardware keyboard you could buy.)Also...there are midi controllers out there with many on-board physical controls, that will minimize the use of your mouse and give you a hardware-like feel,to your PC workstation. The last hardware keyboard I had purchased, was a Korg Krome(the key-bed was shit & all of the synth and orchestral sounds were shit and I returned 2 of them, because the OS's failed.)The only hardware keyboard that is even worth considering(for what I want)...is the Korg Kronos, but the idea of spending thousands on a keyboard and spending thousands more on additional libraries for it and then having the screen fail 5 years down the road,is bullshit. One of the primary advantages to a computer workstation,is that if the computer dies, you can always re-download your purchases...or simply re-distrubute the software you saved on thumb drives,to a new computer.THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF COMPUTER DAW'S,IS A WORLD I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH...EVER AGAIN...NOT EVER.
Dude, this "hardware" doesn't make any type of waveforms, this is software in a plastic container, there is no difference between this and the VSTs on your computer
hello. you are so right in your comment.. but, many "old fashioned" kyb players are not related or familiar in the use of pluggins (vst and so) will depend on each personal case/use. I bought this stage piano kurzweil and I use it as my master kyb controller.. atop I used an old Yamaha v50 (ws fm) and.. in my case, I would defenitely prefer to buy this Roland coz I consider that I could manage with this three boards. and skip on digging on the VST thing. I have not a lap or sound card or any other gear, just my keyboards and the fact that all of the music I play.. I play it live. That's why.. for some people would run perfectly with the software.. and for others.. the keyboards. Despite of what you said about common nowadays boards.. are mostly shitty.. software are son convenient, brighter and cheaper.. not for everyboady but for those who learned and digged in on how all these programs function and deliver their "magic" Thank for the comment, very interesting. One thing one, despite kronos is such a neat board.... I will defenitely head turn on the Kurzweil Forte2 instead! far better instrument.. in my opinion. Greetings!
Why good synthesizers has been discontinued?
Such a brilliant demo, and playing.Let's face it, Roland has made some great classic synths and some, not so good. I am fortunate to have this synth and a JD800. would never part with them. Wow, this demo is amazing.Thank you for sharing.
You have the two best digital synths Roland ever made, I think.
I’ll be buying a JD-08 soon. To me, it’s the first Boutique poly synth that has made sense.
I hope this is next on the list for the Boutique treatment. Not sure what they would call it though, as JP-08 is already taken.
@@oblitafier Hi. Thanx for your reply. Yes, the JD800 has a mind of it's own. Scared the living daylights out of me. Enjoy your new synth.
Hi from NZ, I just scored one of these, I have been after one for years. You can certainly get around the keys man. Nice demo thanks for your post..
Fantastic video! Thanks for posting
🎉La migliore 🎉
That was so very awesome!
I love your playing and the sounds you use! :-)
Thankyou John!
Escape from NY, 1981:)
When this synth came out I was impressed, having had a Synthex Elka for some time. The rendition of the JM Jarre laser harp sound was really close. I would suggest a second hand of this machine, or the 8080 expander, to anyone. And your patches, of course, too...😊
and hell yes, same here, ive forgot the beauty of a real hardware synth even if hes an VA (Virtual Analog). just bought the Yamaha AN1x, the KORG X5D, the Novation Mininova, the ROLAND SH-01 GAIA and 2 Roland D70's......to complete my expirience with my KORG M3, Triton Extreme and the X50. Now, im gonna buy this JP8000 :)
i love my Gaia and Mininova...also have Minibrute,Roland Rs70 and Yamaha MM6.love all of them
Grabiato Nehrimzer don’t forget the Korg Z1 and Alesis Ion
Dino Buckhoy ilive in switzerland, and yes, the fuck we got money here 😂😂😂😂😂
Dino Buckhoy btw, ive sold it all lol
got a korg kronos 2 - 88here. a blofeld, pulse 2, and a prophet 12. the mopho and a blue biest called mono Evolver lol
this is a really good demo
VERY NICE!!!
nice demo, youre really good!
great demo
masterwork!
Thanks to show us the performance o this KB based in real playing (prog rock style) and avoiding one key cheating music (trance, dance, techno, etc) :D
Awesome patches, specially the first at 0:35
I need to replicate this sound on my synth :D
I love all the prog showing up in the demo. Thanks for making a demo of playing, not automation.
thanks for appreciating !!!!
JackOasys
that is some ridiculously good playing
the important thing is that they feel the sounds , there is always someone who plays better than us
+JackOasys
Superb demo man. Ive always rated the JP8000 as good as a JP8 or any oldschool analogue classic.
TOP DEMO!
Thanks
I definitely must have it.
excelente!
damn!!!! great style!!!
Loved the Japan patch.
that sound at 7:45 sounds like the end screen to a Super Nintendo game
Great
I try to come up with the most dystopian tones that make you think of desolation, radiation, paranoia, possession, and eldritch horror.
impeccable!
0:00 By far my favorite sound.
Lol
Nice demo, i think about buying jp8000!
Don't think it, feel it!
Your choice of notes is superb. The clavinet section could be part of a Yes song. Very choice notes and general feel for this instrument and prog music in general.
Clay C. thanks for your comment Clay!
awesome playing, and great rhythmic/harmonic thinking! hope you write tunes in your own right.
10.38 PFM Impressions of September, a great band of our Italian music
Great demo had one I am going to get another had the moog and many others I have the system 8 but there is something special about the jp 8000 Rolland
Gostei muito dos timbres vintage.
Grande Giacomo!
Great Synth!
Hoping ROLAND updates & rereleases the JP-8000 with USB output for the digital age
***** JP6K
System 8, I guess...
Great!
nice. I am thinking of buying an 8080 back.
Nice "Escape From New York" cover
Hi Jack, great sounds!! have you got these downloadable! and how much......
got mine fired up today. I'm diggin it
Nice sounds on Richard Barbierie's plug. I LOVED Japan! Getting my JP fixed now which had the low voltage out out problem. So I have to ask, what patch is that at 1:32. I see this was posted 2014, so you may or may not remember. Thx
brilliant ! are these patches for sale. i'm ready to fall in love with my jp8000 all over again. thank you.
If anyone has the settings for that 'power bass' that kicks in around 3.15 I'd really love them! Superb.
Oil on Canvas is great!
i bought it in 1998 :)
Time 8:20 type of panflutes sound name?????
Hey just wondering if you had to get this beauty serviced at all and if so what was it for?, only asking because I’m looking into picking one up soon so I figured I’d wanna be prepared, cheers and lovely playing skills!
Nice demo! Can you recommend the Roland JP8000 as a first synth to learn how synthesis works? I'm looking for a solution with enough possibilities that is still affordable
Paul Thenmann the Roland System 8 would be good for that and the price is not bad!
Great video, would you recommend this synth for psychedelic sort of sounds?
For psychodelic sounds is a great machine
What's the name of the intro music ?
Any chance your patches are for sale?
Hey JackOasys........I know it is 2017.......still sounds awesome to me..........ARE YOU USING ANY EXTERNAL SPATIAL EFFECTS OR IS THIS JUST THE BOARD AND SPEAKERS? Thank you for convincing me I was right years ago when I wanted one. Gonna get one...................
Great ! So, SH 201 or JP 8000...? What similarities ?
not at all similar, except they are made by the same company
are these persists from internal ROM banks?
did you program each & every patch?
You can save your unique sounds and save them to a PC. You can even write down the setttings of each knob. Many of these do not sound stock. They sound better then many of the stock sounds.
👍🏻
Has Roland made anything better than the JP8000 since then? I know they have the Gaia but the JP looks like it has more synth control. I really like the Korg Kronos but it is too expensive for me at this time...
The V-Synth maybe....
The system-8 perhaps?
TIP: 1: Supersaw with lfo +1 oct down sub and Dual this the same, but (dual 2 1 oct down) = Alpha Juno hoover -pls uploading this ;-)
I am getting one in Japan.
for Kontakt, any recomendations??
jp6k. it's not for kontakt, but vsti. must have!
Hey that's the music that plays when i pop a dvd into the player
0:40 listen carefully to the hiss and occasional crackles! Those are what pissed me off on the JP-8000 and 8080. Other than that I loved these when I owned them.
One of the things I like. I have a "broken" Korg R3 that does the same but even more so.
i think thats just youtube compression buddy
Ancora disponibili?
Banco and Japan!
Where can i find a JP-8000 in mint condition like the one you're demoing?
Ebay
check this, i doubt you'll get one in better condition, read the blurb on it www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROLAND-JP8000-MEGA-SYNTH-JP-8000-GREAT-CONDITION-/201092661740?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&hash=item2ed20e81ec#viTabs_0
just bought it & created a transaction
thanks to your suggestion….
no problem :)
do you think it was a good decision to buy the JP-8000 in an almost unused condition?
or was i duped?
depends, how much did you pay?
over paid $650
4:04 semple E-rotic))
2:28 Sound from Roland looks like Sega CD Warning?! 🤣🤣
What is the song name of 10:55 ?
Darude sandstorm
i use OMNISPHERE &
KOMPLETE 8
I know you edited this on iMovie.
In a way I love that these synths on the second hand market in some way shape or form look pretty beat up - it's a sign that the sounds it produces truly have been 'loved to death' (and probably symbolize the state of the art in the 90s) I bet anyone who opened one of these out the box new had an absolute ball with it
BTW its for sale.....
Stefano Alderighi Grazie, molto gentile!
All the LEDs on it are blinking weirdly. Is it broken? Or repaired? They are not supposed to do that.
dddux sei per caso Salvafunk?
No broken, no repaired
dddux that's because they are LED's and they basically cycle on and off in a certain frequency (I believe around 60hz so 60 times on and off every second. This was probably filmed in 24 frames per second so you can see the lights 'blinking' around 2.5 times per second. Nothing wrong with the synthesizer
i have that
I dont know about custom sounds rhythmic power bass is preset number 2 so that is bullshit it comes with the machine. The preset is called FIzzoid Bass
