The part you would need (Long Block)will bolt right in. You'd be using your own intake and injection, distributor, and exhaust manifolds. If you've ever put an engine in a car you could do it yourself. Piece of cake.
replace a mercruiser 4.3L TKS with a Vortec 4.3L need to know how to set timing also can get full throttle in neutral but when in forward drive lost of power can only get about 2000 rpm out of it could this be in the timing

Also there are many other reasons that could cause the same issue, First thing he has to do is diagnose the problem! Which means starting with the shift and throttle cable adjustments! Good thing you’re not a doctor, if a patient came in with a headache you would probably tell him he needs a new brain!

Long gone friend but just FYI 95 is the cut-off 96 and newer is the vortec
