The word that comes to mind, listening to Matt, is integrity. The word that comes to mind when I hear Baldwin talk, is selfcenteredness.

There's one where he's screaming at a woman and gets up in her face. I keep imagining him on the set and wondering if the crew was afraid of him. @@lc3993 He is definitely not responsible. Anyone who has been on a set with gunfights knows why he isn't culpable. Besides, the invol manslaughter (with a firearm+ 5yrs mandatory minimum sentence) the DA charged didn't become a law in NM until May 2022. The DA will have to drop that one charge because it will easily be dismissed at a pre-trial hearing. The NM law in effect when this happened that Baldwin and the armorer can be charged with carry an 18 month sentence (not mandatory).
People saying to never point a gun at anyone on a set unless you've checked the "bullets" don't understand the 5+ decades old legal regulation that no actual bullets are allowed on any set. As long as the defense attorneys are able to make sure the jurors understand the processes and chain-of-command regarding firearms, Baldwin will easily be found innocent. Hana, the armorer, doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Baldwin is not criminally culpable as the actor holding the gun, but as a producer, he may be civilly liable if any of the corners that were cut (legal cuts) to save costs can be linked to the prop master or armorer and caused safety violations.
Cannot believe the DA charged him.
Never point a gun at anything you don’t intend to destroy.

This senseless accident moved us all, but watching the perpetrator acting like a victim in front of the entire country aroused a feeling of anger: it is unlikely that an adult would blame everyone around him or even an inanimate object to expiate his guilt.

Matt was in shock.There are a lot ways we process grief. He wanted to be with the people that were that last people to see his wife alive. It makes mad that Alec turned the whole thing around as if they were the best of friends and that Matt did not blame him at all and that they were grieving together. Yet Alec post pics of his family during the holidays . How disrespectful.

If this was a male director, they would put more blame on him as they are supposed to makes sure that everything is done safely and double check. That is why they are called "Directors", in this case the actor is being blamed because its Alec Baldwin... I think that is fully wrong. I hate that someone had to die here, but to fault the actors for this does not seem fair, especially when he did exactly what they told him to do. As shocking as it is to point fingers, I wish no one was to point at anyone, but for the finger pointers to ignore the chief decider, the person that ultimately DIRECTS how things are done, because they got shot is not right. I know its hard to admit responsibility here, but there is plenty of blame here up beyond the actor, and to ruin that person sanity by making them feel like the sole party responsible, is wrong too. The only way Alec gets to walk away with his sanity is by having faith that its not his fault, otherwise... you may as well be pointing this gun on a 2nd person and pulling the trigger. Also I feel Alec won't do this because he is classy, but he has every right to counter sue the husband for pointing the finger and trying to do damage to his sanity and reputation. The bigger folks in this ordeal would recognize that everyone is a victim here, especially Alec Baldwin that was handed a faulty pistol by the director and directed to pull the trigger.

Hi Julie... thought it may be helpful for you to know that although the armorer on the set of Rust, Ms.Hannah Gutierrez Reid, has been tried resulting in a jury finding her guilty in one of two charges and not guilty on the other, the judge has yet to sentence her. After her guilty verdict was announced just the other day, it was also announced
that the judges's sentencing and victim impact statements hearing would take place another day but to my knowledge, has not yet been announced....should be very soon. Only then of course will we learn of jail time imposed, if any. Alec Baldwin's trial is scheduled in July (if memory serves me correctly) so only after his trial ends will we know if he must serve jail time as well.
Matt is extremely composed in the interview. I would be in tears the whole time if I was talking about my spouse of 16yrs. I hope there is accountability for what happened to Halyna. Everyone is washing their hands and denying something went wrong when everything went wrong. The investigation will take years.
It changed the lives of several people on that set.

Alec and his wife give a master class in narcissistic behavior on IG. They are using this situation to gain social standing while the real victims display grace & integrity to Halynas memory. They found each other, they fell in love, they had a baby, a child, they reproduced. Even so the loss, they shared a life together, their lives together. Hopefully GOD's love strengthens both of them to get through this time in their lives.

This is just deeply sad and infuriating. This poor gentleman and his son. What a love this couple shared and it ended too soon. The son deprived forever of his mom. The person who brought live ammunition on the set is accountable. Every person who was hired to watch over and lock up the guns is responsible. Every person that held that gun on that set is responsible, the person who loaded that gun with those particular rounds is responsible and every person who held that gun on that set is responsible. Every person who passed that gun that day on the set is responsible. This is so much more than reckless and absurd. Helena’s husband is profoundly calm as he gracefully and loving answers tough questions despite the dirty hand he has been dealt with from Baldwin/some Rust crew. Helena would be so proud of him. His son will do well because of him and his love for Helena.
Glad Matt is speaking out. Prayers to him and the family. I hope the DA and LE in New Mexico get to the bottom of what happened that day and who really is responsible and accountable.
There was one mistake after another made but the person holding the gun is ultimately responsible. With all the mistakes that were made, it would not have killed someone if the person holding the gun had handled it the way you're supposed to. He didn't.

I am so very sorry for Mr Hutchins. Learning your spouse/life partner is deceased via phone call is a serious trauma in and of itself.
One day he had his little family, the next he had to tell his son he would never see his mother again.
Baldwin has done everything possible to make a hideous situation even worse.
Mr. Hutchins only concern should be trying to grieve and starting to put his and Andros lives back together the best they can.
Neither Matthew or his son should have to deal Baldwin’s non stop blaming, bullying and public pontificating.
Instead of remaining quiet and respectful like any decent human being, the Baldwin’s have tormented Halyna’s loved ones.
Nobody wants to hear/see all this social media BS about how much Baldwin loves Hilarious.

I am wishing in time for he an Andros to somehow glean some kind of special deeper understanding as they navigate this darkest dimension of horror from a tragedy that could have been prevented and for which life can unexpectantly throw at us. Always take responsibility and control of the certainty of safety when dealing with any kind of potentially dangerous firearms, etc. and without exception never rely or expect others to give you the pass. The gun was in Mr Baldwins hand when it was fired. I don’t need to hear any other details. He is responsible.
Not accepting any accountability was Baldwin's greatest failing in this matter. He's the one who pulled the trigger, he's a producer - by default he should've accepted accountability for his part, no matter what else or who else contributed to the tragedy.
It was so brave of husband to share. I know Hoda did the interview and she did well but it seems she has aged since Joel and her splitting up She no longer has her spark and happiness. Even her face and makeup dim - she looks pale and wrinkles popping out.
Matt appeared positive and took it well on camera. It was Hoda that looked filled with sadness for him. Of course he is very sad but dealt very well on the interview.

This is so so sad! I feel so bad for her husband! Seems like a really nice level headed loving man who truly loved his wife and wants justice for her! Alec I truly believe did not shoot her on purpose and thought the gun was empty or blanks? As Dave Hallsey handed him the gun and said cold gun? So for that he was truly unaware that there were live bullets in it? He would have no reason to shoot her intentionally either?? That's ridiculous! My husband I reunited doing film. He followed this story because for us it was too close to home. Now my husband has passed and I’m closer to this story than I can ever have imagined. My loss was unexpected but non-violent. I can loosely imagine the pain, but not really. I’m sorry for this family’s loss.

I like Hoda generally, but I think she’s been in the Today show bubble for too long. She kind of has a disingenuous big smile at inappropriate moments. Things on the show are exaggerated and I think the hosts’ personalities become exaggerated - too big smiles etc. Next to this authentic and down to earth gentleman, her overblown expressions and reactions are so incongruent with normal people that I find them kind of unbearable.
