Perhaps the most underated Stone Roses single of them all. I remember thinking: 'Yep. That's just about worth the five year wait' when it came out. Exquisite, understated piano in the coda. Just perfect from start to finish.

Yeah, I was just a wee kiddo when this came out. But this one and "Ten Storey Love Song" rivals anything that they put out earlier that isn't named "Fool's Gold". Groovy, sexy, dangerous and fun.

second coming is very good, and when this single came out for me it was also a uooou. I think this album shows the bad vibe they had, but in a good way, because they still had the groove to channel it.
But man, that album should have come out two years earlier, it would have fit better pre britpop.

I mean nothing against it at all. When Second Coming came out I bought the CD without even hearing it. And i was GRABBED by it. Although my fav SR stuff is the songs that came put in between like One Love etc. But 2nd Coming was amazing. Its Christmas Eve as i write this. Merry Christmas to you. Straight to the Man :)

If you see all the legit News channels that have a CZcams channel they have the comments sections turned off so people cant tell others what they know about something and if it's a lie or anything you feel should be said. That's our right to leave a comment and the whole point to the internet and CZcams.

You have to remember that in the late 1980s and 1990s musicians were looking back at psychedelic rock music of the late 1960s and 1970s as their 'retro'. A lot of britpop and garage rock musicians were paying homage to the music they grew up with.
The same thing's been happening in the 2010s with the nostalgia for 1980s. Synthpop's been very popular these last few years. The 1990s will get the treatment soon enough...

Within a few seconds I realized what I was watching and I screamed and screamed with joy! A new Stone Roses Track! This was well before the Internet, Smart Phones and Social Media and I not heard that the Roses were on the brink of releasing a new album. I bought this album before the first one, because at the time of the release it was like "wow! the Stone Roses are making a new record" 5 years after the first at that time seemed a looong period. I remember seeing this vid on MTV too, and liked the song a lot. But when I brought the CD home and put it on my stereo, I was blowned! Ian sang in such a feline way, Reni and Mani were one of the most brilliant rythmic section of that time!

One night at 2 something in the morning I wake up to take a piss and hear this nasty, bluesy riff come on. Naturally that damn station didn't say the title or who sang it. Took me about a week to find out. Shit 26 years old and still rocks.

Nah, it had nothing to do with their age and everything to do with the fact the stateside, almost no one knows who the Stone Roses are. They had fairly popular song in the U.S., and that's this one and hadn't put out an album in ~20 years at the time. They were just not popular enough in the U.S. (where Coachella takes place) to warrant remaining being the headliners when Blur was playing right before them and were much more well-known overseas.
