I ordered it like 2 days after watching this video, laid it down in the sump and it perfectly circulates the water. My detritus is no more! Also added a bag of chemi clean blue as was mentioned could be done. Love it so far
wholly agree. the design with the magnetic coupling is great.
Thanks for sharing all these cool products
awesome presentation, very useful, helpful! Thank you!
Thomas, without you I would never know about all these cool new products!
Yay! Cheers!
Was looking at the ADV 800 for my turtle aquaterarium last month and thought to myself that sicce really made an awesome internal filter that could be suited for my needs but now seeing the Shark Pro I must say that they have surpassed themselves, I really want one now!
Cosmetically it's a wonderful filter. I bought one the other day ( Pro 900) and have as yet to fill my latest tank but did a dry run of taking it apart and sticking it inside my tank. I certainly didn't find it a breeze as your video suggests. When I took the cover off the impeller housing I somehow found the part holding the magnet dropped off onto the floor. It took me some time to fathom how it all went back together and finally when I did I found I had the magnet in the wrong way round ( wrong polarity) so had to do it again, The click together individual segments are good but out of the water the heavy filter body easily drops off of the magnet, I'm hoping this will be better in the buoyancy of the water. All in all seems a good filter but fiddly.
The only thing I like about this is the clever spray bar design!
beautiful design, well worth the price
Could you use this in the sump in place of the carbon/gfo reactor? Im trying to free up some stand space and I like the idea of putting this in the sump. More compact solution maybe than the big canisters? Easy change out for new carbon and gfo material?
Might not be beautiful but in a sump who really cares. I have an in tank filter and this solves all the issues that I have. Disconnecting media to clean check, no suction cups check, disconnecting pump from tank with magnets...didn't even think of that one. And the price for the quality is fantastic.
internal filters that have all 3 compartments open like this are less efficiant then ones that have only the bottom open. almost all the flow is going to come through the top facing intake and almost non through the second and lower compartment
Am I overlooking something or is there a fundamental flaw in the design: most of the flow will go through the first chamber, a little through the second, and almost none through the third (furthest from the pump) chamber.
It channels up through the front making the flow through the center then channels forward to the front.
Yeah. Im with you on wondering how the water wouldn’t just take the path of least resistance making the 2 and 3 chamber models very inconsistent.
@@Jaywil07 It is hard to understand your comment. "It channels up through the front" I get that flow comes through the grate and up towards the pump. I don't see anything in the chambers that could possibly direct flow equally through them each chamber. The flow source being the pump is going to pull from all directions prioritizing what is closest, which is the first chamber. Side note, there is two intake grates on each chamber, one on either side.
@@joebrown7315 follow us on Instagram and you can see the story post
The water enters the side. Inside the module the water has to go through a front chamber then rising towards the pump. It’s designed specifically so that it doesn’t not clog.
@@Jaywil07 to me not clogging just means not cleaning as well so you can be lazier.... Which defeats the point of filtering
Can you do a video on why Ecotech’s app is completely broken?
this seems like the water would just take the path of least resistance, and mainly just flow through the first chamber meaning water would not flow properly through all the media. Also they probably should have taken notes from the comline internal filters and designed it with surface skimming in mind. That way the filter would act more as a all in one type of sump
Surface skimming was thought about but this was a dual design filter with freshwater in mind then saltwater. The surface skimming never quite works 100% when attached to a smaller unit like this unless it’s a stand alone.
I ordered one of the 900. But the only reason I did was because they don't use those worthless suction cups anymore.
Dimensions? how deep are they?
Looks like they "borrowed" my DIY filter...🤔
at least they improved it 🙂
But mine is only $20😁
same here...borrowed
can this be laid horizontally?
Yes aas it's demonstrated by Thomas @ 2:40 -&- 5 years warranty is the best that you can get. 🇮🇹
Would’ve been better if it had a clear box for a refuge.
I don’t think the bottom sponge will suck anything.
Looks like a house battery powered air freshener lol
Too hard to throw it in some actual water and check it out?
Thomas always gets a 👍
How is this new or innovative?
internal power filters themselves are nothing new. That said, there are some unique features like the magnetic coupling of the filter stages and the pump to the mounting magnet that make this particular power filter unique.
$80 for 240 gph flow filter
Thank you NOooo
So bulky an eye soar
15 years ago atman had such design, so really, nothing new here....
Terrible
