True, the recording quality is necessarily not quite as smooth, but the simpler mournful arrangement lets Lisa Hannigan's voice stand out, and she performs with a soaring spontaneity that catches the listener's full attention, at least mine. I can almost smell the wood smoke. I long for her to tour again so I can hear her live.
this is hands down the best version, It could not have captured the emotion any deeper or clearer. Listen to it on a good pair of earbuds or headphones sometime, once watching then the next time with your eye closed, you'll see and then feel.
